SO ANNOYING. Been getting these calls for 3 days in a row. They never ever leave a voicemail. Not wasting my airtime for these telemarketers.

And yeah they always call in between 2-6pm.

Did someone actually post their cell number on a public website thinking that this will decrease telespam?  *Shakes head sadly back and forth*

It is in fact Telus! They have hired a 3rd party company to do their telemarketing - the company is called John Keells.

Do a google on John Keells and include Telus in your search and it will confirm it.

I have talked with a rep at John Keells and Telus and its no scam - Telus has contracted them to do their telemarketing - even though most of Telus's customer service reps no nothing about it. Sad sad state of affairs at Telus.

I know this as they were calling my phone a couple of times a day for a couple of months and when I answered no one was there - until yesterday when I had a nice chat with the rep of John Keells and then spent the next hour on the phone with Telus getting to the bottom of it and convinced them to stop calling!

You need to ask Telus customer service to put a note on your account that you do not wish to get any telemarketing even if the customer service rep does not think it is Telus doing the calling.

Calls from 1-866-369-9826 are from Telus through a 3rd party telemarketing company called John Keells that Telus has in fact hired to call you!

If you do not believe it do a google on the company John Keells and include Telus in your search. Or go to Facebook and look users John Keells Telus!

To STOP the calls you need to call Telus customer service and tell them you do not want to get any telemarketing from them and the calls will stop. i am getting this call too. one day i got 3 calls all wanting to give me a package for the same thing (DATA ADDON) i got furious. ultimatum time, i get one more i cancel my subscription.

I do not have Telus mobility phones, Telus Internet or Telus TV, I only have a Telus landline at it lowest possible setting. Sooooooo um ya just because I have a Telus landline, because where I am there is no availability for any other service, they should note that I do not have any other offering of theirs. Telemarketing to me is a sure way to ensure that I don't have services of theirs in the future either.

Maybe drop her a line on her linked in account and see how she likes the spam.

she should be fully aware of the penalties associated with the DNCL which is:
If a telemarketing company has broken the National DNCL Rules or the Telemarketing Rules, the CRTC may impose a penalty of up $1,500 per violation for individuals and up to $15,000 per violation for corporations. https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/faqs-eng#mc_link03

Now the only saving grace they may have is the National Do Not Call list allows telemarketers to call you for a few reasons, one of them is -- Calls to a consumer who has an existing business relationship with the organization

However that being said some rules they must follow are:
Telemarketers must display the originating calling number or an alternate number where the call originator can be reached
A telemarketer using a predictive dialing device to initiate a call shall not exceed, in any calendar month, a five (5) percent abandonment rate. The telemarketer and/or its client shall maintain records of actual abandonment rates for a period of three (3) years from the date each monthly record is created. (This means if you are getting a bunch of dead air answers or dead air on your answering machine they may be in violation of this rule. A complaint to the CRTC about such activity would force them to have to spend time and resources to look up this information for the CRTC.)

So if they are checking for the number they are using on the Internet, for complaints and such, as they should be, and they happen to stumble on this then,,,, be warned people have the power to make life very difficult for you as well. I could not imagine being put under a microscope by the CRTC, or have a review panel from my association looking into me because I was results driven instead of driven to do it right and train my staff right.

I keep getting calls from this number as well. I am also with telus. No one is ever on the other end. It's making me really mad, sometimes i get the calls at 4am.

Received a call on my cell phone 2:42pm.
Said Hello about 5 times... I got a female voice saying Hello and then dead silence.
I said Hello again and then hung up.
In reading the below comments, I do know that my Cell phone contract with Telus is up for renewal shortly. I did receive emails from Telus in the last week telling me that I can get a free phone upgrade if I renew my contract. It very well could of been a telus.

Three calls my cell in the past two days and two 30 minutes apart this evening. Bloody annoying because a) the caller can barely speak English, and b) when I want to speak to Telus, I will call them.

I had enough with repeated phone calls. They are calling me at 8pm waking my kids from their sleep. I called Telus customer service and complained about it. The CS rep. Had placed restriction on my cell phone number so that I will not receive marketing calls from Telus. I hope it works.

Calls from this number between 7:00pm/10:00pm.Multiple times they had called i tired of it.STOP CALLING ME!!!!

Recieve calls from 866-369-9826. No one there or messages left. Annoying. Apparently this number has called alot of people. Same crap!

March 1st 2012 6:48pm  This number left a message - sounded like someone forgot to hang up the phone properly and I heard the loud background chatter for a whole 2 minutes.  Nothing interesting to report.  Decided to see if the calling number was on the internet somewhere, and here we are.
Having read the above reports, I too have spoken to a man about a month ago saying he's from Telus with a great deal for me, etc etc..  He could tell my contract was going to expire in the next couple of months.  He put the phone down when I said I wasn't interested unless he could do better than $30 a month total.  
Shall ask Telus these questions when I go in to see them about the contract....It states even their own affiliate companies are not to cold call me.  hmmmm

I got a call from that phone number and they said.
Would you like to change to Telus and get our exclusive price for optiktv,homephonebasic,optik internet, for only $29.50. We kept talking and they asked my address and which brand i'm using. He said he's gonna call back tomorrow to talk to my parents.

Do u know what? After 1year promo, the price goes up to $90. Too expensive for 15mbps internet

Just got the call a few minutes ago (around 7:55pm PST), didn't both answering. No voicemail. I am using Telus for my cell phone, it will expiry in 5 months though.

I've had this number call me before, but that was back in 2011.
