Solution to this issue!  My name is Jennifer - I have been receiving calls from this number for the last 2 weeks. they keep asking for a Monica Novak - who does not reside at this number - nor do I know anyone by that name. So, Monica - if you are reading this - I would like to have a personal conversation with you about paying your bill. But I digress. This is indeed the collections arm of Barclay. I called the following number: 302-622-8990. You will get a recorded message that asks you to enter your account number or social security number. Do not do anything. The message will be repeated 3 - 4 times and then you will be connected to a "customer care specialist". This man I spoke with was named robert. Very nice, courteous and helpful. He transferred me to a Customer Security Specialist who promptly took my number off of their records, apologized appropriately and was very nice and helpful. She guaranteed me that I would not be receiving any more phone calls from this number. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

This # is calling because an acct is past due.
Apparently Barclay's is a little more proactive in getting un- paid balances paid. I'm embarrassed when I get the calls, because  I really didn't remember getting the statement.
This # is not a scam. As far as a vmail being left, one can agree, leave a message.
Food for thought, when talking to a live person, only give out the last 4 digits of your ssn.
As far as excellent credit, well if you don't pay on time a couple of times, it isn't excellent is it?
Think about it, wouldn't one want a call now, instead of months from now, like a lot of other companies?

These pinheads have called MY number 41 times in the last week. On the rare occasions that someone is on the other end (autodialer) I get some fool in the Phillipines. I have told them to lose my number as it is only a few weeks old and I have no clue as to who they are attempting to contact. They are a collection agency for Barclays Bank in Delaware (isnt it nice that an American Bank who likes Americans money PAYS a company in the Phillipines to harrass Americans----???????)
I called Barclays, waited through the computer voice until I got a human in customer service, vented to her and she transferred me to their "Security" desk. This guy PROMISED to have the number removed AND wanted me to send them a letter and/or a fax. Bull***t!!!!!!
I did, however, get the name of the head of his department---had him spell it--and thanked him for his time.
I googled the name, got the home phone number in Wilmington, Delaware and if the calls start up again, I will be calling this guy at 2, 3, 4, 5 o'.clock in the morning and asking that my number be removed

First off this number does belong to Barclay's/Juniper bank, and several others that are owned by Barclay's. I owe them on my credit card. I am well aware of the fact, and until I get my disability check from the government (comes on the second tuesday of each month, so different days all the time), I do not have the money in my account to log a payment yet.  I told them that. The immediately said, well we can post-date a payment for the 15th (this month disability SHOULD hit on the 14th but you never can be sure). I told him no, that I need to be sure the deposit is in before a payment is withdrawn. This was about 2 weeks ago.

I was told that there is no way to stop the calls, and I would continue to receive calls. I told them not to call me, to make a note and that they would be getting a payment on the day my deposit is secure in my account. Last friday, they called 4 times, starting at 7:!3am. I was furious to be woken up on my day off by these vultures. I berated them and told them not to call me again. PERIOD! At 9:28am, 2:26pm and 3:18pm, I again received calls from them. I finally blocked the number. Over the weekend, they called 12 more times. So today, Monday, they called again at 7:38am, 8:19am, 9:16am and again at 2:26 pm. This is beyond harassment. It is 100% illegal as per the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

I am now in the process of submitting a letter informing them of the numerous violations, starting with calling before 8 am, harassment, more than one call a day, calling when they have been told a payment would be posted, and more. I will also be filing a complaint with the FCC regarding these violations. These violations are enough to warrant a possible lawsuit for damages. And I may just have to take it there. I warn everyone, if you do business with this company, either stay current, or get away from them because they will break every law to harass you into paying!

    Well, OneMadSOB:

Having received these calls as well.. I get a few a day too... however based on "the regulations", on fair debt, calls can be made from 8 am - 9 pm, the local time zone, as I've been advised. Does your home #/cell # that is listed in a different time zone from where you presently live?

I think this is a great idea, I just installed it and we'll see how long it takes them to figure it out.

    Thanks,

Calls continally received from Barclays Bank asking for Paul White.  I have repeatedly told them I am not Paul White and do not know Paul White.  They have told me twice that my phone number has been removed from their call list but so far that is not the case.  This has continued for 2 months.

Yes, I received the same type of call -- and was badgered to make a payment on the phone for an overdue CC balance.  In fact, I had missed a payment (first time in 15 years!).

BUT, I called my CC directly to determine the facts and made a payment via mail -- the old fashioned way.

I did appreciate the call but NOT the nasty attitude by the person on the call.

Call your cell phone company and have them call block this number. Verizon will put a block for 90 days. There is no charge for this. You will have to update every 90 days. You can do this aswell online at the Verizon website. Verizon will block up to 5 numbers at a time at no charge.

After reading all these responses, it baffles me as to why they might be calling me. I answered and they hung up on me. I don't have any credit cards so I know it's not that. All my other bills are auto-paid monthly.
    Who knows.

this # is not bogus...when only ask the last 4 of the social for inbound calls for security reasons to know if we're speaking to the correct cardholder..you make it seem fraud because your  account is past due and you don't seem to know how to make your account current..

of course we do not know that the number we have on file belongs to a new owner..the previous cardholder who provided to  us the number of course, will not notify us that they are escaping their responsibility & obligation of the debt they owed, and we do not know also the veracity if the new owner would say it's a wrong number, what if that cardholder just to escape his obligation would only say wrong number just to put a stop to the calls, that's why we are asking for a cease and desist letter..but then again we are deleting numbers once an account had 2 or more notations of wrong numbers on it..

the number is from barclays bank delaware, their collections operations dept..the department that handles payments over the phone, payment programs and what not..probably it was showing as thompson in your caller i.d. because you are more than 60 days past due..of course if an account is delinquent,we turned them over to a 3rd party collection agency, had you called barclays they will give you the correct contact details if you are more than 60 days past due.

of course frontier will tell you that that call is not from them because they are really not from frontier but from barclays bank that finances your frontier mastercard...you ought to know which bank finances your visa or mastercard so that when a bank calls you because you are delinquent, you'd know that it's legitimate.
