I get phone calls from this number up to 4 times a day!  They're not asking for me but my husband and sometimes I don't even answer but they won't leave a message.  On top of that when I have answered the phone & I've asked for clarification all they want is his SSN...not gonna happen.  They claim to be a debt collector from RCI Credit Card company??? Don't call my number again...he cannot be reached at this number!  When I've called them back at this number all I get is a recording.

Anytime a get a call from a number I don't recognize, and they are claiming to be your credit card company, or power company or whatever, I never set-up any type of over-the-phone payments with them. I always check the phone number that they called from first, by directly calling the company they claim to represent.

I think oft times people get sucked into being intimidated by getting a calsl from a supposed collection departments, and they give out their information too easily. People need to realize that scam artists and shady collectors can get hold of a lot of your personal information, and know which companies you owe money too.  They'll call to trick you into revealing more sensitive information to them.

If someone calls, and they starts asking you to verify your identity to them, so they can discuss your account with you. by giving them the last 4 of your SS#, and/or the account number they are calling about, never give it to them.  Unless you positivity know that phone number is associated with a the company/lender you've done business with, don't even acknowledge that you have a debt with the company, let alone give them you SS#, checking account debit information, or anything like that.

I think the number is legit too. I owe Barclay's on my credit card.  None the less, to always be safe, I never discuss my account or personal information with anyone calling from a number I don't recognize. I don't care what they tell me or how much info they may already have on me, I still never fill in the blanks for them. I always just call the number on the back or my card or the number printed on my account statement and setup the payments that way.

This number keeps calling my various numbers and the person with a bad accent I cannot understand won't clearly ID himself.  How do I make it stop?

Being harassed by this illegal number 10x a day. Please advise.

I keep getting calls from this number. Im reporting so u can do something about it.

I just blocked the #. I am praying that that works!

I was finally able to talk with someone. After much questioning she told me she is in the Phillipines and was calling for Barclay's Bank. The only way I got through was to enter fictitious social security numbers numerous times. Finally the robot comes on and says I will be connected to an account manager. When I explained that our number is a business number and told them I never want to receive another call she apologized for the "inconvenience" and said our number, which I reluctantly gave to her, would be removed from their list. I guess we'll see.

They have been calling for a week now but are never on the phone when I answer (I never wait for auto dialers, After all I did not call them!) Reading other posts i suspect that the Juniper bank ID may be spoofed or from a really old listing as the old Juniper Bank is now part of Barclay and their cards have a whole different number. I wish we could find out who they are though because we are all entitled to $5000 per call under federal law (if you're on the do not call list).

I called Barclay's and they said no one from their company had called me today even though this number has called me several times.  Do not trust 866-408-4070.

They hang up on you, when you ask them who are you looking for.

They call at least 10 times a day never leave a message, once I picked up and all the recorded message said was give  your credit card # or your ss #. Good luck with that.

I have an Android phone and I downloaded Call Blocker Gold. They get an immediate hangup when they call.

If you have an iPhone with the new update you can actually block callers now. This number calls constantly and I have blocked them now! Yesssss!

I am receiving several calls daily from this #. When I answer the phone it hangs up. When I call the PH # back an automated operator requests my account # OR my SOCIAL SECURITY #! This is a scam!!!!!!! The company name is never stated.

Probably the best bet is to call the 888 toll free customer service number on the back of your card and report the offending phone number.  Never call an unverified non-toll free number in response to probable scammers.  I also have my pet theory that telemarketers sell lists of positive responses to other telemarketer clearinghouses which leads to a cascade of unwanted calls.  I set the answering message to 2 -1/2 seconds with just the phone number, nothing else, and turn the ring volume to nearly audible.  This seems to cut off Robo-calls quite effectively, but you still have to clear hang up messages.

Bet of luck with Robo-Calls and contact with valid creditors if need be.  

My dispute is over charges made during a fraud case and the added fees.  Barclays may owe me money, but the calls continue while the investigation continues.  At least I get to send Barclays email in stead of getting persistent emails.

Yep, I get the same thing. The creditor in question should have an address form me. either leave a message or send a note. That is what I say...

How  do know which bank would be doing this???
