Claimed to be BMO about some credit card fraud thing or whatever and I have never banked with BMO let alone ever had a MasterCard in my life.  Must have the wrong phone #.

I received a msg today on my landline saying my MasterCard ending in-xxxx had been compromised and to call that number.   The last 4 digits did match my card however I’m a very suspicious person, so instead of calling I visited my BMO branch.  They checked my CC account, everything was in order, all purchases were in fact made by me, and also said if my card had been compromised, BMO would have frozen the account.  So it is a scam and fraud attempt to get your info.  BEWARE!

I have received a phone call regarding my credit card (BOM Mastercard) requesting immediate call back.
I contacted BOM in Montreal directly on their regular number and was told yes, there was a concern on my last transaction and block has been placed on my card. This was resolved and the blco was removed. They also confirmed the above number is legit - it is BOM's security number.

I got a call from this number saying it's BMO. She had my name correct but since i don't trust most calls nowadays i quickly googled it and found no link to BMO. I just said "I know this is a spam call and i do not wish to help you. Please don't call this number again." she literally just replied "oh okay.." so no this isn't bmo...

Got a message from this number claiming BMO Fraud Dept.  When I dialed the number I got a recorded message saying the had changed and to connect to the new number there would be a $3.50 charge.  Total scam.

Did they call you back ?  They never called me back

Received a phone call from BMO Fraud departemnt.  Urgent message about a security breach.  Asked me to call back to this number - they are available 24 hours a day.  I checked my online account, everything is OK

Do you often look up known phone numbers? And why are you replying to a post from 11 years ago?!

Received a automated message claiming to be BMO mastercard security. Called the customer service center and received a message that they needed to talk to me.  They were just checking up on some large internet purchases I made with my card.  Number is legit.

Addition - I did not call the number back.  I called the customer service number on the back of my card. The only information requested automatically was my card number and they asked standard security questions about my card - no personal information - over the phone. They were able to confirm the companies I made the purchases from.  Call the customer service number on the back of your card to confirm a security call. Do not call the number back incase it is a scam as scammers can piggyback off a number these days.  Be smart, Be Safe.
