I have never had a problem with 5/3 Bank, who I have my mortgage through.  However, I did have a late payment a few months ago due to not knowing that it was a bank holiday.  I dropped the money in the slot to be put in the next day.  Got a call later that day from this number, and the man who I talked to on the other end kept insisting that I was going to have huge overages on my payments unless I paid him over the phone right then, despite it being a bank holiday, and me having already dropped a check off.  I told him no, since I had put the check in the drop box, and did not want to have money taken out twice.  He was still very incessant, and so I pretty much had to cut him off and hang up on him.  Didn't hear from them after that, until this month.  I brought my payment in on the 16th, and the lady at the bank was super friendly and nice as usual, and there were no problems with her depositing my check.  Unfortunately, the calls have been coming a few times a day since Sunday.  I just hope they stop when the check clears.  However, I really doubt that this is a legitimate 5/3 thing,  especially considering how incessant the man was about me giving him account info and paying over the phone, and how often, and how soon they call.  Seems to me that it is more likely someone hooked into the 5/3 system, or has one of their old phone numbers, who is hoping to scam customers.

This is not a scam. It is actually 53 bank.
I had a fraudulent check (an e-check) that I never authorized go through and it over-drew my account. I have since filed a fraud packet with 53 and they are checking on it.
Unfortunately, ever since then I get calls every day (just one a day though) from them. It's usually the 800-972-3030 number, but I guess since I've been hanging up on their recordings, they sent it to collections.
I just spoke to a lady at my local branch who is helping me with this fraud claim. She told me she will get the calls to stop. I hope so, and I do appreciate her help.
If you're having trouble with 53, my advice is to go into a local branch and talk to someone in charge. Do not call the 800 number. With very few exceptions, they are rude and unable to be of assistance.

I have also been getting a phone call from this number for the past month.  When I finally answered, it sounded like a guy from India.  He told me that I have a credit card bill that I didn't pay for in May.  Then he was able to provide my  home address correctly, and asked me to pay for the bill over the phone.  Half the time I could barely understand him, I was assuming it was a scam.  I told him I would later pay the bill at home online.  A few days later, I kept getting calls again.  (I still hadn't paid the bill and it turned out I did forget to pay my bill in May).  I answered the call this past weekend and talked to a lady, who was also somewhat hard to understand.  She wanted me to pay my bill over the phone and provide her with my account number and routing number.  I told her no, I would pay it online.  Well I did pay my bill online last night, and got a call again today (when I answer it, it says to please hold).   This is just weird.  I do bank with Fifth Third, I think I will talk to them about it next time I'm at the bank.

866-450-0037  I agree whole heartedly.  Fifth Third Bank is really horrible and is taking our American dollars to pay indians in india.  I will never do business with them again.

I have been harassed with calls from this number for the past month. as others have posted on this site, all times of the day, after banking hours, and Sundays as well.  I have spoken with 2 people and even informed them to put me on their DO NOT CALL list, with no success in having my request honored, as i thought it was the law that they Must comply.

I informed them of the remarks posted online regarding this number, and have inquired with my bank, Fifth Third, of their affiliation.  All I can say is, UUrrrrrGGGhhhhH!!!!!! I am so irritated at this point!

When I answered one of the calls, I was asked to verify my name, address. then asked why my account went into a deficit. I decided to amuse the calling rep with an answer, and his response was "That sounds about right". Now does that sound like a professional response from a rep of any bank?

This number called me 12 times one day, 13 times the following day, and 12 more times on the freaking FOURTH OF JULY!!!  They say they are from 5/3.  I have accounts there and called my bank directly asking if they call 12-13 times per day from this number.  The bank associate informed me he could not locate this number in their directory BUT it nevertheless "may" be coming from them.  He said that one of my credit card payments was $15 over due and that they normally call from collections only 6 times per day and not 13.  I explained that I made sure all my accounts were up to date and that I thought it odd that a legitimate banking institution such as 5/3 would call 12 times on the Fourth of July holiday.  He didn't really have a response to that.  Anyway, the number keeps calling and I don't know what to do at this point other than file a police report.  Given that the associate could not find this number in 5/3 call list again reaffirms my suspicions that this is a scam that will just not go away. If you have any ideas about how to make it stop, please let me know!

I believe it is a fullfillment call center.  Hired by several companies including Fifth Third Bank.  Either Fifth Third is doing a terrible job of contacting them to let them know that payment has been received if it was late so that they stop calling or they don';t care to stop calliong because they only get paid if they actually make contact and probably a higher amount if they collect on the call.

I have no business interaction with 5/3 bank, yet I get 7-10 calls a day at my work number from this phone number.  Only one message has been left over the 2 weeks this has been going on and they asked for a person other than myself to return the call.  Now, my voice message states my name, yet they still left that message for another person and continue to call and hang up.  I have tried answering just to get them to stop calling and they hang up.  I wish I could report them!!

I have never had an account at that bank, however, they keep on calling me day and night, including today, a Sunday, and never leave a message.  Thought that was illegal.  Here's one thing I've learned.  It is futile to leave a complaint on the Do Not Call Complaint page as they never acknowlege it.  I find more satisfaction from writing about these pesty critters here than bothing with them.

I have left messages on this site before but now they are really driving me crazy.  Besides calling 8-12 times a day they have gone further.  I always pay before or right on the grace due date which bank workers have told me is fine.  The calls in the past have stopped within 3-4 hours of making the payment. Today is different.  I made the payment at the bank with the teller and all yesterday at noon.  I have recieved calls every 2 hours today.  I can't believe 5/3 continues to pay to have this type of service.  I know I won't ever bank with them again.  It is to bad as all of the employees that I have met and talked with are very kind and helpful up to getting the calls stopped.

Calls come 4-6 times a day. No one is there when I answer and no message is left on my answering machine. It is happening so frequently I am thinking about having my phone number changed, or disconnected.
