- No FoolThis Indian guy named Benjamin keeps calling saying he is from Windows Operating Systems. He says he wants to help me clear up problems with my computer alerts. He says someone is hacking into my computer and he wants to help stop these unscrupulous criminals. I am not fooled by this, and will no way let them have access to my computer. However he had told me everything he said to the previous reporter of this scam. He has called me multiple times and this time he gave me the number 1-866-539-8674 to call him back to check it out. It sounds like a telemarketer because there are other voices talking to other unsuspecting customers.
- Caller: Windows Best Help or Health
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Stop Business With Indiaphone call - almost unintelligable - says my computer has generated warning that it could have been hacked - told to look at errors and warnings and then go to website. That is as far as you should go. This is a total scam and the people behind it are thieves. They should be prosecuted. Never give remote access to your computer unless you have initiated the problem call and you know it is legitimate and remember that they will not ask for credit card numbers.
- Caller: couldn't understand
- TSCI have been receiving calls from (866) 539-8674 first I was told that my computer had a virus, second person said that my windows program had been corrupted and on the third call I was told that my computer had been hacked on all occasions I asked for a company name and number and the number remained the same, however the company name did not.
I called the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) at (888) 225-5322 and spoke to a person who told me that I needed to call the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) at (877) 382-4357. I called and briefly explained what happened. The person was very appreciative of the call and gave me a claim number.
It is important that we spent a few minutes and report this company as there are many people who they will be able to harm with their false statement.
Please make sure to call the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) at (877) 382-4357 and report your call.- Caller: 866-539-8674
- Phil HYes, I received a call also. Similar to the other reports you received.
They wanted authorization to enter the computer and "correct" problems created by hackers. The caller identified himself as Charles Bawson (I think, his accent made him very difficult to understand).
He wanted authorization to bill me also. - alicethey are still at this scam. deep accent, hard to understand, but pushy that I needed to take care of the problem immediately. when told I let my daughter tend to these things, I was to have her call back in less than 30 minutes. Then got another call that I let go on answering machine, saying that I'd lose internet and Windows service because not following instructions.

- Denette| 2 repliesThis number is always calling me either from a Washington D.C. or a Washington state or an out of area number. I have constantly harassed and I have also been talked vulgar to by one of these so called windows microsoft people. I was given the 1-866-539-8674 number as a supervisor for Fred Watson #20068. I knew they were a scam from the beginning, but I like to waste their time and act as if I am complying, Then I tell them exactly what they are going to do and they get so mad. I say we all call the only working number we got for them and harass them. *67 your number and call 1-866-539-8674 and harass the hell out of them.
- MaryI received a similar call, heavy Indian accent and all. Was suspicious & did not get on the computer. Noticed that the number did not show on caller ID. Asked for a number to call back & was given 866-539-8674. Asked for a name & was told Peter Parker. Really??? Hung up then.
- Caller: Scam claiming to be Windows
- JimI fell victim to the caller. My computer kept flashing an alert to a strong virus or invasion of some sort. Then this company, who claimed to represent Windows, and Dell, offered a solution at no charge because my computer was under warrantee. After getting repeated calls, and saying no, I finally let him into my computer. (never again) Long story short, I paid the company, which I later found out was Arjun, Inc, $180.00. (never again) We had to change our credit card number, and hire a local guy to remove all the stuff the guy loaded into our computer. Bad experience. Arjun, Inc. does not have a good reputation, according to some Google results. I disputed the charge with my card company, and they sent the information on to Arjun, Inc. Now those guys want to know why I disputed the charge.
- Caller: windows best help, and Arjun, Inc.
- Don HazzardSpeaker with foreign accent called from "Windows." A hacker from Malaysia will attempt to take over my computer which would cost a lot of money. To protect my computer I must follow his instructions, step by step, as he gave them to me. I said I would use my antivirus. He said antivirus won't work. Must follow his instructions. After some argument, I asked for a phone number which I could call. He gave me 866-539-8674. The caller ID number for his call was 202-011-3341. SCAM!
- Caller: Windows (??)
- Bill MThe call came as from DC 202-011-3341, a person with a strong India accent claimed to be working for Windows insisted that my computer had been hacked and my pc was sending them messages. He wanted me to push ctrl and the windows keys so they could fix the problem. I asked to speak with his super and another man with the same accent came on giving me the 866 number to call them back. Both were insisting that I push the keys. No thanks!

- Mike-in-MD replies to Denette| 1 replyYou cannot block your number when calling 800, 855, 866, 877 or 888 toll free numbers. The telephone companies are required by regulation to pass the numbers of callers to toll free numbers.
- Diane replies to BabsThey are still at it, one-year later. I told "Allen Parker" I would have to call him back. The reverse look-up confirmed my suspicions.
BTW- the caller ID said "anonymous". I should have let it ring.
Thanks! - AbbyWI just got a call from this number. The man was insistent that my Windows Global Server had been hacked. He spoke very quickly and wanted me to get on my computer so he could help me. I asked him to slow down and give me a number I could call. This is the number he gave me.

- Cathiereceived a call telling me my computer windows program was infected with a malicious virus
which my norton would not be able to handle. Identifyied himself as Leo Parker employee #30133, from
global windows security company which manages all computer window programs throught the world.
when I asked for information which I could verify. Man had indian accent and told me to call back and ask for
Leo Parker and someone would verify the legitimacy of the call and company....
caller called back to find out if I had called that number to verify who he was and when I told him I had not
and that I had looked his number up on the web and was currently filling out a scam report he hung up. - ANonieMouse replies to Mike-in-MDYou are quite correct.
I usually suggest that if someone wants to call a toll-free number anonymously, do it using a Skype account that does not have a call-in number associated with it. You can dial US toll-free numbers from ANY Skype account, even if you don't have a dial-out account with them. The number they will see will be a Skype number that they maintain for that purpose. In my case, it is from Fresno, CA, which is nowhere near where I live. - JimAnother call today from 866-539-8674. They must think everyone is stupid, but regardless of what you threaten they will call back again. Maybe just leave the phone off the hook for awhile during the call might slow them down but I doubt it.
- Savanna replies to LisaHello Lisa,
Only minutes ago, I received the same type of call. The man said his name was Sam Watson from Global Service Tracker Company and he gave me this same phone number: 1-866-539-8674.
I told him that I was on the "other line" and would have to call him back...
No! I don't think so(?)......
Funny thing (ODD), is that I am having some computer problems. I am handling them day by day, but how could he know that? Coincidence maybe???
Thank you for your post! - JillBest Help called my mother, gave the phone number 18665398674, said she was having a lot of Windows errors, His name was 'Andrew Rodgers' with a thick accent. They wanted her to go to aamyym.com .
