no call, but did get the mailer. faux telegram. why would they have the word "stop" AND a period? the word was used in lieu of the period because it was cheaper for the sender. punctuation costs. this "telegram" has colons, brackets. parenthases, and periods. even still i thought i'd check on-line to see if they were legit. these postings don't suprise me a bit. scammers are getting clever and there is money to be made off the greed of the naive.

I did't get a call but i got something in the mail.I immediately called up the # and asked them to remove me from their mailing list. BEWARE PEOPLE, NOTHING IS FOR FREE! I just saw something on oprah last week about these scams. PLEASE BE AWARE! times are too hard now to get caught up in these gimmicks.

I got a card, called the Co.to varify. I asked the lady on the phone if I could send the $60.00 in by mail since there is really no deadline as the envelope stated. She said no she couldn't help me. That gave me second thoughts.

There are so many scams out there you would not believe the scams that have been coming to me from all over the world because somehow my name got on the worlds biggest sucker list even though I have never fell for any of them .I do wish there were some way to stop these Crooks because there are so many innocent people that fall for these scams because they are so desperate then they get their selves in deeper trouble .     the public needs to become more aware of what is going on because it is going to get worse with the way the economy is going . It seems the worse it gets for people who have no money the more the roaches come out of the woodwork.

Thank you so much for this info, I recieved my letter/card in the mail today. Boy can they make things look real and give poor people high hopes, once again thanks and thanks to the internet for keeping people like us safe from scammers!

I recieved this post card in the mail about this 25,000 free money and I feel in my heart they are praying on the poor prople who don't have much and wish they could get some free money and they can get some go to the book store and buy a book about grant they are there to help the people who are nned and it is like puting money back in your pocket these people that are claiming to be with G.F, Institue just want your info so they can milk you dry of what little money you may have left.

I didn't get a call, but my 82 year old mother got the "Official Notice" in the mail and was very excited about the possiblity of getting this money. I told her I would check on the web and sure enough nothing in Google until I put in G.F. Institute Kansas City and this came up. From what I can see, there is no telling at the number of people, who like my mother, was very excited about getting free grant money that "Never" has to be paid back; she was going to use this money to help out her kids. In this day and time, it is a shame that people are willing to take advantage of the elderly. My mother is hard of hearing and if she called the number, she probably would have agreed to the fee they are asking for and not even realize she was being scammed. She has also had someone try to tell her she had money that had been taken from her checking accout and that for a fee they could recover this for her; this has happened several times.

I received the mailer as well. I have been receiving a lot of things like this including an invitation to a secret society ever since I bought Kevin Trudeau's book "Debt Cures".
He is either the scammer or is selling our info to these people.
Be wary people.

well, I'm sure glad I found you guys!  I received the same card in yesterday's mail and with the economic environment the way it is, sure is tempting!

This scam has got to be linked to a book that I bought about 2 months ago. Ever since I received this book about curing your debt, I have recieved all of this weird (and by weird I mean scam) mail... everything from joining a 'secret' society because apparently I am very special (that's what the letter said at least) and all I had to do was send away for a 'free' members handbook. I also read on this board that someone had bought a natural cures book and starting recieving this same type of mail... It just so happens that the author of this debt book wrote a natural cures book as well...hmmm. It looks like this all goes back to the late night infomercial guy who convinced me to buy his book in the first place.

I am glad I googled this.  Right before Christmas, with the economy in shambles, an offer like this is appealing to anyone out there.  I WON'T be responding to the letter, either.

I agree with you, who are these people that have my contact information.  My question is what do they want?

Google the "National Do Not Call Registry". Go on their site and enter any phone numbers that you don't want to receive spam phone calls.  It WORKS!!! Might take a day or two but it really does work!

Has anyone called this # to find out what kind of information they are requesting,As to see if they are trying to get private info.

So glad I researched this site before calling the "credible" G.F. Institute of Kansas City!  I knew it was a scam, but wanted to check to see exactly what kind of scam.  Well, I got plenty of answers.  Thanks everyone.  The preditors are out in force!

Great !  I just got a letter in the mail from G.F. Institute saying I was awarded $25,000.00  Thought I would check here first and sure enough, it is nothing but a common ripoff. Just curious why this company or these people waste so much of their time not to mention postage. Don't they have anything better in their life to do ?

I just received in mail a $25K grant from G.F.Institute.I find it incredible, so I talked to an old friend about it. We decided to google about it and finally found to be a scam. It is a ripoff.I suggest not to respond to this scam  as it a waste of time.
