- FremontAs others have said, but they called both me and my husband on NEW YEAR'S DAY, 10:00 a.m.! Tactless. Even more to lessen their credibility.
- The Duck| 1 replyWhen they called and I answered.....no reply. I called the number back and asked why they called my number and reply was, that they were looking for my daughter using her Maiden name. I Knew she has no outstanding debts. I then told them to quit calling or I would have the state A.G. get involved. They hung up immediately.

- noanswerforuSUNDAY, 8:25AM, 1/3/2015 received call which was blocked. Caller ID said Midland Credit Mgmnt, again. They obviously don't take the hint. The first time, months ago, when I returned the call, they said they had wrong number. BUT they continued to call and so I blocked them. It is annoying when the phone rings incessantly. I would take out the phone, but since my mom is 90, I need a landline for her. BUT NOT THE INCESSANT CALLS!

- noanswerforu replies to Re ViictimizedThey called my BLOCKED number again, for the umpteenth time, this time 1/3/2016 SUNDAY MORNING at 8:25AM. They are apparently on autodialer. I will be reporting them ONCE AGAIN.
Thank you for your information. I will be checking out the finding. Happy New Year without MCM. - noanswerforu replies to ZeldaLook them up online. If you can find an address, GoogleMap the address. I did this several years ago for a different number. Turned out the address was a dirt road of shacks in Texas. Just a bunch a scammers.
- NewYears Victim| 2 repliesI've twice filed complaints formally, with CFPB, and after months, each time the calls stopped. (G-d bless CFPB for *trying* to protect the public from slugs like Midland- Encore! So now of course they've got their lobbyists attacking the CFPB AND continuing public abuse!)
Beginning the New Year, the calls have resumed, daily, including today, Sunday, in the morning. I hold no debt and live alone, had the same phone # for decades, and no doubt Midland/Encore has an ill-begotten list from some criminal element. There's no doubt million-dollar fines and legal orders do not deter this company, no matter what. They have ignored a specific order to cease and desist their harassment-by-phone and using false or imaginary or hacked info to help them call more and more people more and more often.
They were ordered (by the Nov 2015) to make top-down managers tell every one of their underlings and phone mills to stop. But they haven't. This company just brushes off large fines and ignores legal orders, feeling untouchable and unstoppable.
You can read the CFPB ruling at: http://bit.ly/CFPBmid
If you're one of the many, many victims of Midland/Encore, please file a complaint with the CFPB so that they might help you in the face of errant harassment by Midland/Encore. Nobody else is truly trying to rid this plague from so many lives. They will follow up (anonymous as you wish, or as an intermediary) and they need to know the scale at which these vile vultures are violating law and privacy of citizens who are NOT hiding uncollected debts or debtors. This is the biggest violator of Americans' rights to what privacy we have left, and they just plain violate legal orders, and shrug off huge fines, or class-action suits.
Please report to your state A.G. if that might help, sue or join a class-action if you can, but most certainly, if you are a Midland/Encore victim of completely over-the-top harassment, REPORT THESE CALLS TO THE CFPB, who is the only agency trying to seek justice for the many, many victims of Midland/Encore. Document what you can (phone logs, etc.) as they may be useful in terms of damage-seeking and as additional evidence of the scale at which this empire of illegal harassment is harming innocent telephone owners.

- BigA replies to NewYears Victim"They have ignored a specific order to cease and desist their harassment-by-phone" Of course they have, because they can simply say they never received it. You have put up with harassment and never asserted your rights correctly. The complaints to the CFPB and the AG are a start. Now do the rest. Send them a certified, return receipt letter telling them to cease and desist calling you. Then go out and find a consumer lawyer to sue them. You should be able to find one on a contingency basis with no money out of your pocket. Let them pay you for what they have put you through.
Pleas also note that a lot of the information i just posted is listed on the CFPB site. - AngieMidland on the id. Blocked by nomo.

- bgd replies to RichardI have a 8.29 charge off from quik fill gas. It was a service charge after I closed the account, in any event they have called me 8 times since Christmas eve and new years trying to collect the 8 bucks. i have a Panosonic phone that has over hundreds of spaces to block numbers and their number is blocked. They don't leave a message,
- AfaI get at least 2 calls daily from this number. Only once have I heard a woman's voice saying hello. Usually it's just an open line.
- KayeRec'd call today. No message. Will block #
- Don't fall for the info by them| 1 replyIt was Midland Credit Management. They had the correct name and was told my bill was overdue from Capital One Bank. I asked them to mail me my statement and he said he mailed it to some address (gave me complete address) in New Jersey and then I told him it was not my address and then said if my bday was in December something and I said no, then he said if my social was the ne'er he had on file and I said no. So he said to please give him correct information so I wouldn't be sent to lawsuit or collection company. PLEASE DONT FALL FOR THEIR TRAP!! DONT VERIFY YOUR I FORMATION BY GIVING THEM YOUR REAL INFORMATION, THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT. THEN ANOTHER COMPANY WILL CALL YOU WITH YOUR INFO AND YOU MIGHT HINK ITS REAL. ALWAYS CALL THE NUMBER BEHIND YOUR CREDIT CARD OR GO DIRECTLY TO YOUR BANK TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. DONT LET THEM TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!
- Caller: Midland Credit Management

- BigA replies to Don't fall for the info by them"So he said to please give him correct information so I wouldn't be sent to lawsuit or collection company. " Threatening a lawsuit is against the law, and saying that you wouldn't be turned in to a collection agency? Well, that is what Midland is so it would be too late for that. They certainly don't hire rocket scientists to collect debt, just convicted felons no doubt. [lease read my post on page 24, and send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. file complaints at the links provided to report their criminal activities, and then go out, find a consumer lawyer and sue them. If everyone would follow through on those 3 simple items these crooks would be bankrupt and out of business.
- Cyndi replies to CharlieAnne| 1 replyGet a notarized copy of your mother death certificate. Next time they call tell them you need a copy of the bill they are calling about and a true address for them. IF they refuse it may be time for an attorney. IF they give you the address send them the death certificate and a cease and desist letter via certified mail.
- BigA replies to CyndiThe only thing I would send them is a cease and desist. I would not send them a copy of a death certificate nor any other papers. The fact that they keep calling her is a violation of the law in and of itself. Afteer the cease and desist order I would file reports on their criminal activities and then sue them.
