866-606-9942

This is the 800 number that is left for you to call back from 813-644-8778.  They are debt collectors that are relentless.  They will leave messages, call your family and friends and scare them to death.  They say you are going to jail.  They have no reason to call.  They need to be shut down.

I received a call from this number and i am not behind on any bills. Have no idea wwhy a bill collector would call me.

I got a call from a local number on the caller ID. Did not answer, but they left a voicemail. A "Mr. Stein" calling about a collection of debt, of which I have none. He told me to call him back at 866-606-9942. Probably will not be doing that.. lol

The same with me Winnie. This is a scam that needs to be stopped. How did they get our number.  They need to be stopped NOW. This is the number 866.606.9942.

Received the call from Mr. Stein today as well.  He never used my name or even knew who he was calling.  Totally has to be a scam!

Also received a call from Mr Stein about bad debt. Never mentioned my name said it was about bad debt. I have zero debt, not even a credit card.

A "Mrs King" called early this morning and left a message saying that they were trying to reach (name so unintelligible I couldn't understand).  I called them back (really!? )  and they asked for my name.  I told them to look it up by the phone # they called.  They were looking for someone else, but kept pressing me for information.  I advised them to cease and desist..

Mr. Stein has been a busy man today! I too received a voicemail, and have no idea what  he could be calling about. He also did not call me by name.

I also recieved a call from Mr. Steins.  It sounds like the same scenerio.  Is there an agency to send a customer complaint to?

A Mr. Stein called at 11:05 EST and left a message saying he had a situation here and needed to talk to us immediately.  Never used our name and never said what company he was calling from.  Said it was very important that we call him back ASAP.  Gave a little disclaimer at the end saying he had to inform us that he was from a debt collection agency and that any info we gave could be used to facilitate collection.  We have immaculate credit and owe nothing to anyone.

Sounds like a phishing expedition to me.  Our number is registered with the National Do Not Call listing.

Same situation as "LLLI", idendical message from Mr. Stein. He is busy, today.

Got a phone call from Mr Stein as well, just a few minutes ago. Said he was trying to collect a debt and never used my name. I have perfect credit and even checked equifax to verify that nothing odd was showing up on my credit report. This is definitely a scam. Block the number if you can and report it.

I also got a call from a Mr. Stein left on my answering machine yesterday when I got home from work. He never called us by our name or said what company he was calling from. He said he had a situation that he needed to clear up with us and I was to call him back as soon as I got the message that it was about a debt that he needed to collect. My credit is excellent and I do not owe any old debt. I did call the number and some operator tells you to put the number in that you are calling about, when you do that they ask you if you want the call to be collect, if you are calling about a rate quote or if you want to put the call onto a credit card or phone card. I just hung up.

Me too!  Just got a call from a Mr. Stein telling me to c/b to this #.  The number that came up on the answering machine was a Philadelphia #:  267-443-6303.  The message he left had me concerned at first.  He made it sound as if an emergency of some kind, like someone in my family was in an accident or something!  But at the end of the 2 1/2 minute message, he admitted that this was an attempt to collect on a debt...but no mention of was kind of debt it was???!!!!???

I also got a call from a local number about a debt but I don't owe anyone anything.  The call back number was 866-606-9942.  I did not call it back.

Like all the others here. Mr stein. I was even here and picked up the phone but it is only a recording. No name he asked for. I have no debt. Own no credit cards. I will not be calling him back at the number he gave 866-606-9942. At the end of the message he claimed this was an attempt to collect a debt but if that was true then the first time he called my house it would have been a "live" person. REPORT REPORT REPORT stop this crap.

Received a call from 713-588-0938 and they left a voice mail stating to call back Mr. Rice at 866-606-9942 - the number they called me on is my business cell phone.

My 11 year old daughter just received the same b.s. message from this number, but now he is "Mr. Rice". Also, the caller id came through as a local number in Idaho (1-208-297-7541) but he gave the 866-606-9942 as the call back number.

Same thing here.  Received a call with a local ID and was told to call back the 866 number.  This one was froma Ms. Crighton, but I have also received one from a Mr. Rice.

Mr. Stein called my number and left the 8666069942 but the caller ID showed up as 8043966892. Didn't state who they were calling for and as a last minute thought was like oh, by the way this is an attempt to collect a debt. I am not calling this one back either. Can't think of a reason for anyone to be calling my home! Beware all! By the way this was on Monday this week. 1/14
