    it's not a scam. Jesus, they are a collection agency. Your daughter racked up a bill somewhere and didn't pay it off. It's probably an older bill because DRS tends to deal with time barred accounts a lot. Even if you had your daughters credit reports it doesn't prove she doesn't have an outstanding debt somewhere.

    Have your daughter deal with it. If it is truly not her they are looking for then she can clear it up with them. If it is her debt than she should educate herself to the collection practices and what the consumer laws are and take it from there.

    I hate collection agencies but what I hate even more is when people jump online and freak out acting like nobody they know or themselves has any bad debt out there so it must be a scam. Please, 8 times out of 10 they got the right guy but sometimes they do get the wrong person when they have limited information to go on.

    Wrong or right, these people are predators. I know for certain my 18 year old daughter had no debt but they kept calling saying she had a $4000 credit card bill, and she is parapalegic and lives with me. I checked her name with experian credit, and she had no credit card and no debt and for that fact no credit. They called on and off for 2 years making threats.

    My dad received a call today also. They are saying that he owes and Auto center since 1994. My dad said he had never heard of the Auto center. They also had his social security number. When they asked for him he hung up because he had gotten calls from them before. My brother called them back and they hung up on him because he told them that what they were doing isn't right, its a scam. My dad is going to go to our Social Security office and report this. I also read from other complaints that we can sue them if they take out money from his bank account.

    Dispute the alleged debt IMMEDIATELY and VIA certified mail, with return receipt requested. Below is my personal favorite. There are many others you can access on the internet.

    Today's Date

    Your Name
    Your Address

    Collector's Name
    Collector's Address

    VIA CERTIFIED MAIL

    Dear {insert name of collector or company},

    I am writing in response to your (letter or phone call) dated {insert date}, (copy enclosed) because I do not believe I owe what you say I owe.

    This is the first I've heard from you, or any other company on this matter therefore, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 809(b): Validating Debts:

    (b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

    I respectfully request that you provide me with the following information:

    (1) the amount of the debt;
    (2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
    (3) Provide a verification or copy of any judgment (if applicable);
    (4) Proof that you are licensed to collect debts in (insert name of your state)

    Be advised that I am fully aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. For instance, I know that:

    Because I have disputed this debt in writing within 30 days of receipt of your dunning notice, you must obtain verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment against me and mail these items to me at your expense;
    you cannot add interest or fees except those allowed by the original contract or state law.

    You do not have to respond to this dispute but if you do, any attempt to collect this debt without validating it, violates the FDCPA.

    Also be advised that I am keeping very accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company including recording all phone calls and I will not hesitate to report violations of the law to my State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

    I have disputed this debt; therefore, until validated you know your information concerning this debt is inaccurate. Thus, if you have already reported this debt to any credit-reporting agency (CRA) or Credit Bureau (CB) then, you must immediately inform them of my dispute with this debt. Reporting information that you know to be inaccurate or failing to report information correctly violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act § 1681s-2. Should you pursue a judgment without validating this debt, I will inform the judge and request the case be dismissed based on your failure to comply with the FDCPA.

    Finally, if you do not own this debt, I demand that you immediately send a copy of this dispute letter to the original creditor so they are also aware of my dispute with this debt.

    I got a call from this company yesturday 6/26/13. Called from a local number but left a call back number which was different! Same as all other comments here didn't ask for me by name. I've been getting different calls from two other company's that seem to be scammers cause no information could be found on them. Not sure what this company is about but I won't be calling them back! All my calls go to voicemail I don't answer phone numbers I don't know!

    They use VoIP to call you from what appears to be a local number, I think. Twice they called at 8 in the morning to my cell phone. I didn't think any kind of telemarketers or supposed debt collectors could call before 9 a.m. They never ask for anyone by name or really give any details. I'm never speaking with them, as I don't have any outstanding debt. Guess they will have to keep talking to my voice mail.

    I too received multiple calls on my home # despite being on do not call list.  It got to the point that it was obnoxious as they called once every 2 days (on a phone that is primarily there for outgoing emergency calls.)  We had 5 messages from them after being away for a week at the beach.  I know that neither my husband nor I has any kind of bad debt as we just successfully refinanced our house to get a lower rate and went through intense financial scrutiny as part of the process.  I took the time to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, who forwarded my complaint to the company.  We have not heard a peep from Data Recovery since!!  The BBB site shows that the Greenville, SC branch of this company has an abnormally high # of complaints, which is part of how the company is rated, so I encourage others to fill out the complaint form so that annoying calls like this stop.

    I just received a call from Dynamic Recovery Solutions, called from 817-768-3494.  Left a voicemail asking me to call 866-637-7739.  When I did return the call comes to find out they were looking for my ex-husband of 9 years.  I asked them how they got my cell phone number, and their statement was they have a trace dept. with extensive trace data.  They wanted me to get a message to him asking him to call due to a very important matter - it slipped they needed some kind of a statement from him, and he probably isn't aware of what's going on.  They did give me a file # for him to reference to when he makes the call.  They also stated he is on a time period.  They asked me questions like 1) if I had a current phone number or 2) if I had a current address as to where he lives.  Of course I do know this information since we do have children together, but I didn't give it to them.

    I requested for them not to call me since I'm no longer involved with my ex-husband.  They said they would.  We'll see if that's the case.

    They just called and the number on the caller ID showed a local area code and exchange number. I didn't answer. I don't answer any calls I don't recognize on the caller ID. I only answers calls that are already in my contact list and shows up as people I know (friend, work, wife, son, etc etc).

    So this guy left a message saying he is calling from Dynamic Recovery Solutions and wants to talk to me (I need to talk to you right away) regarding something important.

    He just said "YOU".

    He didn't say who he is looking for by name (i.e. Mr. Smith, Mr. Jones, Mrs. Brown, etc tc).

    I know just from the name Dynamic Recovery Solutions that they are a collection agency and most likely a SCAM collection agency before I'd even GOOGLE their name to read up on the complaints against them.

    I will not call them back unless they call again and leave a voice mail stating the exact name of the person they are trying to reach.

    My name is not "YOU"
