After letting the call ring many times we answered and listened for a few seconds before offering a greeting. After a delay of more than ten seconds they disconnected.

Got call from this  number. The message said that they were calling about my credit card and this would be the chance I had to lower my interest rate. ???? After a long hold, someone came on the line and was speaking a foreign language to someone else in the background. Either way, they sounded as if they were at home...at a house and not even at a call center. He said he was calling "about your Wal-Mart card." First of all, I don't have ANY credit cards. Once I informed him of this, he immediately hung up. I answered and played along simply because I had the time to sit there and see who it was calling me. . . Needless to say, they are being placed on the BLOKT list.

Common sense dictates that when people with Indian accents call you from a spoofed number and ask for the number of a credit card you don't have and want your SSN, you should hang up, block, and go back to doing something worthwhile.

    Caller ID: TOLL FREE CALL.

This number called the office this morning. The call turned out to be a robocall from Member Services with the usual message about this being the last attempt to contact us about lowering credit card interest rates. I hung up at that point.

It appears these robocallers may be spoofing legitimate numbers in an attempt to better persuade the people they call to give them personal data. On January 2, we received an after-hours call from 800-423-4343. This number belongs the AT&T Universal Card, but people making posts here report that the callers are asking for extraneous personal information. Yesterday, we received a similar after-hours call from 800-669-8488. Other posters have mentioned that this number is affiliated with Sears, yet Sears--when called directly--claims it does not directly call their card-carrying customers with the number.

Member Services has also used 800-421-2110 to call here.

Looked the number up and its the walmart Credit Card (Mastercard) department. I don't own a Mastercard through them so its possibly a spoofed caller ID? Don't trust it either way.
