    I found this info.
Toll-free numbers are numbers that begin with one of the following three-digit codes: 800, 888, 877, or 866. Toll-free numbers allow callers to reach businesses and/or individuals without being charged for the call. The charge for using a toll-free number is paid by the called party (the toll-free subscriber) instead of the calling party. Toll-free numbers can be dialed directly to your business or personal telephone line.

Some debt collections calls my work phone every day and want to leave a message for Monica W.  I am a man, and there is a detailed message on my voice mail.  Today I was at my desk late and picked up the phone.  Even though the recording said "Please hang up if you are not Monica W" and "By staying on the phone you agree that you are Monica W", and "Please pick up the phone to listen to the private message for Monica W so no one will hear".  I stayed on the phone to tell them to stop calling but they hung up as soon as we were connected.

I was being very nice to this lady who called then she got very rude and personnel. Being that im a single father full time student and an Honorable Veteran she kept pushing. I finally told her she would not see a [***] dine and to go [***] her self. The call stopped for about 3 days and now they have started back up. I have paid taxes my whole life and have been unemployed for a couple years going through my undergrad, and now grad school it will be funny to a the boss of a worthless person like this some day

Unknown chick calls my number. Says, "can I talk to Bailey Shaw?" I say, "yeah, who are you?" I was thinking at the time of my response, "She is practically screaming through the phone," She hung up. I called back to ask, "may I speak to Bailey Shaw?" Man says, "Who?" I say, "Bailey Shaw." Man says, "I don't have anybody like that here." Try Australia....idk...why would a genuine professional call to ask to speak to someone, then disconnect her side? I am publicly revoking any previously understood permission to speak with me. Start over, if you are sincere, ethical, and are not currently engaged in other activities. Your other choice is: don't hang up, oh, no, oh, don't you do it now, don't hang up...

Look up in your area statue of limation in your area, write them a letter send it certified the limation in your area, example in GA -it 4 years
if you are on sssi or something like that it exempt form collection. In the letter put in event if debt is sold this letter should be included in my file to ensure the buyer is put on notice of the same
and enclue in the letter if you or any subsequet holder of this debt attempts to empt funds in order to collect this debt you will be subject to wrongful attachment litigation,
And do noy call or send letters, if they do save them, you might have a court case  Dawn

    Call them back
I received a call from them asking for someone else. Since they used a recording for the messages, I had to call back and ask them to remove the number. It was pretty simple. :)

they cannot legally even keep calling you on a debt any debt after like (depending on your state and type) 4 yrs in my states of residence.. it can stay on the report of course but they can't legally collect..when collectors call I ask first thing, what's the date on this thing that you are calling about, (DON'T ADMIT TO OWNERSHIP) just ask, how old is it. I started telling collectors this, and to furthermore NOT CALL ME EVER AGAIN, they did stop immediately.  They are counting on ignorance of the law!  And thanks for the info, these people are waking me up daily trying to get my boyfriend, but they never left a message and wouldn't tell me anything but to have him call.

I've had it with these jerks calling to attempt to collect on hospital bills that are well past the 7 years when they could legally collect. I had to have 11 surgeries in 6 years in my 20's and now at 31 have the type of chronic pain issues usually only associated with people twice my age and I have to listen to jack*sses who, in my opinion, aren't even human the way they disrespect people who have done nothing to them. I am now giving them exactly one warning before reporting them to ftc, bbb, and calling a lawyer to file harassment suit. I am DONE!
