IT IS NOT BoA!!! If you are late with them, call and tell them "I can't do anything at this time, and don't know when i will be able to." They might try to work something out with you.  I got them to forget my debt for two months and to add that to the end of the contract.
I can see how these scammers are getting way with this when there are so many people who actually do owe their banks right now. But I, like many of the other posters, do not owe BoA anything at this time and have received two calls from this number today!

If I answer, a recorded message says "changes are being made to your account".  Then they want me to verify my account number!  Uh.....

THIS IS A SCAM!  I asked what company "card services" was with and they couldn't answer me.  Any legitimate company will tell you who they are.  Make sure you DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.

If you answer the call (like I did) and stay on the line, you'll eventually be connected with a BOA debt collector. Find out what they want or if they even have the right person.
Ignoring the calls does little to stop their auto-dialer from calling you again and again.

This number shows up everyday all day.  I've never had an account with Bk of America and don't
but they obviously have my name.  I will not talk to "unknowns" especially with "800" numbers!

I never answer these type of phone numbers until I look them up.  This one showed on my caller ID as "Varolli".  What the heck is a "varolli"???  I answered the second time and got the clicks.... and more clicks.  No patience for this type of thing!  No account with B of A, not late on anything, and not buying anything from anyone over the phone!

It is Bank of America and they are very nice, they didn't ask for my social security number, just my name.  They were able to look up the account information off of that.  I was simply late on my credit card payment, not a big deal.

Always tell whomever is calling about anything to send it to you in the mail.  If it is a scam, they won't because they will face mail fraud. If it is a real company, they will say things over the phone that they will not put in writing and mail to you for the same reason.  Try telling them you are recording the conversation and they will hang up on you every time. They don't want any of their tactics on a recording nor do they want them in writing.

I recently received a call from this number. This time an actual voice mail was left. It was a non human voice which said "This is Bank Of America, calling with a change in the status of the account of (then a different computerized voice said my name). Please have him call us today at 8888002513. I borrowed a pre-paid cell phone (paid for in cash). I called 8666354316. A human being answered the phone and said "Thank you for calling FIA Card Services, This is Tracy". The call was then terminated. The best available research indicates that FIA Card Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank Of America, and processes credit cards for Bank Of America. There are many complaints filed against them for illegal (according to the FDCPA) and unethical practices (as defined by the FDCPA). I called 8888002513 (from the phone mentioned above in this posting). The "answering machine" at this number said "thank you for calling FIA Card Services in response to our call. in order to service you better, please enter the full account number". The original voice mail from 8666354316 NEVER MENTIONED AN ACCOUNT NUMBER. I hung up. I don't know what to think.

I also received a call from 8666354316 earlier today. The message left is exactly the same as the one "Relentless" received. I am really beginning that the banks the federal government bailed out are not doing very well, in spite of the bailout. The banks must be spending plenty of money to make these coputerized calls and leave generic non-human messages.

    Receiver of call
Called last night. No message was left on my machine.

I have a BOA card, but I paid it off in full, this past summer. Owe $0.00

Sounds to me, if they are calling about BOA accounts, it must be a scam.
I still have a cc with them, but owe nothing. Nada, zip..

Because this sounded like scam, just checked that BOA account.
    0.00 as of 4/11

Started to worry a bit, thinking maybe someone stole my account number and
ran up a bill. Had that happen to a AMEX card years ago.

    Receiver of call
Called - left msg concerning a BOA account and to call back.

I have a BOA card, that I have a 0 balance on and hardly use it. Concerned I returned the call.
Gal picks up. I give my name and ask if there's a problem with my card.... thinking my
account has been hacked or number stolen.

She can't find why they called. Then asks for someone else's name. I'm like, ohh,  wrong number.

I ask her, why did you call my number, looking for a person I don't know?

    Then she says : Maybe it's a " friend or neighbor " of yours ?  <<< ( Remember that )

Told her I don't know the person your asking for, but again... How did you come to my number to call?

She says well, that's the number we have, maybe you just got this number...

Ahh, no, same number for 15 + years. Said she'd take the number out of the system.
Said she would take it out of the system, at end of business day.
No calls since. This was in late Dec. 2011

    *Now, advance a week's time*

Funny thing, I just found out, a neighbor, that moved in a couple months, is the person they
are calling and trying to reach. I, now after meeting them, for the 1st time, have to pass on this info.

Talk about embarrassing, to tell a new neighbor your Bank of America credit card company,
called your new neighbor, to try and find you.

I would think there should be something illegal about this kind of call.
To call a person who's address is close to their customer, in order to reach them,
concerning, most likely, a late CC bill.
They never said anything direct, but when BOA calls, looking for someone,
    it's pretty obvious the reason.

They just passed new laws for the FCC.....No telemarketers can call you without your permission before telemarketers could call you even if you were registered with the FCC........What I did was file a complaint with the Protective Consumer Division at the Attorney General's Office and I never received a phone call again.....File on the FCC website under the "Do Not Call List" if they continue to call after you register go back to the website and file a complaint....Use the Attorney General like I did, the Legal Department contacted them and the calls stopped immediately hope this helped

That's exactly what you need to do. I contacted the Consumer Protective Division at the Attorney General's Office. They responded quickly and in a very short time the phone calls stopped. The Attorney General carries more weight than the FCC and responds immediately. The FCC could care less even though they just passed new laws pertaining to these types of calls.
