They call from all sort of numbers. I got a call from a "pay phone" thinking something was wrong with one of my kids (not sure what might of happen to their cell phone) but in a panic just answered. It was them... Really? I obviously didn't have the money to pay the debt then, which screwed my credit. What makes you think I have it now? and I don't think it would help my credit???

You don't have anything to worry about. They're not going to sue you. All they are going to do is keep calling. They will probably call your family too, but that is easily taken care of wit a cease and desist letter.

DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE A FRAUD. They never sue anyone just a regular run of the mill bottom feeding collection agency that collect debt illegally. File a complaint  w/ FTC,  local police BBB anyone you can think of    Start recording those calls you might need the proof for a lawsuit

They're only an A- because they settle (pay) all the lawsuits that are filed against them and also because most people forget that they can file a complaint against them with the BBB. Nice try! BBB accreditation really doesn't mean anything other then the fact that they can keep an A- rating by paying off the lawsuits that they get filed against them as well as they put a "do not contact" status on the debtors account and then close it out. What a lot of people don't know or have forgotten is there is no debtor's prison. People cannot be sent to jail for failure to pay off a credit card or medical bill. Sure, it will mess up your credit for about seven to ten years but you cannot be jailed, have wages garnished, income taxes seized, assets confiscated for purposes of selling by the company, or anything else for that matter. They can take you to court and you speak with a lawyer and a mitigator; that's it. You don't get advanced phone calls telling you that this or that needs to be done or they'll send you to jail. You get a summons to appear in court out of the clear blue sky. Pinnacle is in the business of threatening decent people hoping to make a few extra dollars off our fears.

ms. Shapiro from pincal asset group threated me at 9:30 pm last night for a 300.00 debit my husban owes a credit card she said they will take me to court and garnishes my paycheck for over 3000.00 dollars and court fees. I tried to tell her I'm not a signer on his card she said it didnt matter.  My lawyer wants their address and i cant get anyone to answer the phone there.   I'm not relieable for his credit card debt.
