- Nice trySame story. "Victor at ex 508 tried the same thing claiming I took out a payday loan for $300 back in 2011. Told him to email me proof then "Investigator Justin" got on the phone and said that he'd gotten info from my bank about the deposit and traced the IP address to my residence. Once I informed him that a bank would NEVER give a third party info and I never had Internet service at that residence I told him nice try and never call me again or I will pursue legal actions of my own.
- Caller: Pinnacle Assest Management
- Jmereceived a call notifiying me of a claim they have received for a possible pending small claims debt. I haven't had any debt in over 10yrs and they would be well beyond their SOL for my state. Called from #716-611-3700
- Caller: Pinnacle Group

- AnonymThese people are constantly calling me. I talked with them once, and they claim I owe a payday loan from 2013 that was deposited into a bank I don't even have an account with. When I confronted him on it, he said yes he looked it up, and I don't have an account with that bank, so I must have obtained the funds in a different way. lol REally? I told him, if he had a case against me, he would have all of that information, and he would be able to send it to me in the U.S. mail. He said he could send it by email, and I told him that would not work. It was a loan from a company, I have never heard of before. This is definitely a scam, and of course, I have not received any emails, since he didn't even have my correct email address. haha

- Rose replies to AnnoyedI've had the same issue with them as well. How could have I gotten a loan when I was in the military at the time?
- navars089| 1 replyThese pieces of sh*t are calling me from pinnacle asset management(678) 831-3948 claiming they're gonna begin to contact my place of employment and garnish my wages, I'm tired of them calling me claiming I owe money to some loan company called triple services llc that belongs to BMG group which had no contact info, is anyone receiving same calls from this number or company? What can I tell them to get them to stop calling?

- Razy Mataz replies to navars089Yes! This company is full of it. They called me claiming I owed for cash n grab payday loan scam. I went online looking for a payday loan in 2012. A company called Hydra fund deposited money into my account, and continued to withdrawl $90/wk. eventually I made payments of $50/wk to pay the loan off. In 2014 I got several more calls from two other agencies about the loan claiming that often times numerous agencies will chip in small funds to deposit the loan, so I owed each company $400 roughly now! I paid those two companies, and now others such as Pinnacle keep calling me! Claiming I'm going to be served papers for wage garnishment! I will not be, if you google BMG group, St Ambrose, Hydra Fund, CMG Group etc etc etc you will see that they are under a federal lawsuit with the CFPB, investigation from the FBI, and are not authorized to loan in many many states. These people are in on the scam! Don't pay thrm, the papers will never show up at your door, and eventually the case will be fought by the CFPB AND GOVT. it's all a huge huge scam. I asked pinnacle to send me paperwork showing the debt owed with my account number and he said "I can not do that bc most people will create fake paid in full letters" oh ooook buddy! Tell them you are aware of the lawsuit being filed against all these loan companies, want a PHYSICAL mailed letter, and proof of all things. Then contact the CFPB submit a claim EVERYTIME they call you. That way it draws attention to it.
- aniya replies to NikkiThis number kept calling and stuff say in they want to review some account but I am freaking 12!! What kind of scam is this!!! This only proves they are fake
- willieamber McBride from pinnacle asset 678-701-9212 keeps calling me telling me I am gonna be arrested for check fraud for defaulting on a payday loan from lender called sandspoint. I believe I already paid this years ago. Is this company a fraud????

- Margaret| 1 replyKeep getting calls at work from them on 678-368-4640. Told him to send me something in writing and it had to be by us mail. It has been 2 weeks now and still nothing. He called again today saying that a letter was sent to my home address and my email. Haven't received either one. Told him to stop calling and that if and when I got their letter, I would call them. Never heard of company, Riverside, that he said loaned me the money back in 2011. Past 3 yr statue of limitations for my state anyhow. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB also. I'm sure it won't do any good but will at least alert others to their scam.

- Alfalfa replies to MargaretHow can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:
The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

- Renee Scherzer replies to AnnoyedI received the same call about my mom. First it was from a Larry Cohen and he stated that If I was going to pay my moms past debt, than I should call back. He wouldn't tell me the amount but stated that it was more than $5K. I just received a message from Michael Goldberg of the PInnacle Group and stated that they would like to settle this out of court. Phone number 866-529-0010/ ext. 228. He even gave me a claim number. My mom stated that she has never opened a credit card under her married name, so this is a scam.
