Received call from a private number wanting to know where my son was and that he wanted to serve him with a document number 48110KF08 and he was representing R. F. and Associates...phone number 866 764 9779.  So I got on the internet and check the phone number out and found out it was hoax.  I suggest that one should turn over the phone number to the attorney general for action.

Also if they call your work you need to get a supervisor or friend (it cant be you for some reason) to tell them that you cannot receive call at your place of business. legally they have to stop also if for any reason u loose your job or they cut your hours because if this you can sue them. i know my employer would never do that to me but some places are different i hope this helps you

This number called my mom who lives in another state I haven't lived in for 8 years and said they were from the county there and that someone had filed a complaint against me and I was to appear in court. When I did my research on this number I realized it is RF & Associates. I looked at my credit report and have no debt to this company. I also noticed on my credit inquiries they had pulled one of my credit reports a couple weeks ago which explains all of this information they know about me. If you are being harrassed by this company or they are posing as indivduals they really aren't file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I'm also not even sure if it's legal for them to pull my credit report without permission?? This is a bunch of crap. Even if someone has something negative on your credit report you want to try and fix it's people like this that make it difficult. How do you know if these companies calling you are a bunch of frauds or actual debt collectors? If someone can so easily pull your credit report they are going to know exactly what you owe on. So seems to me it would be pretty easy to just collect money off of people trying to actually fix their crap when really you don't even know who they REALLY are! Any debt collector is required to send you a letter in writing verifying the debt. Don't ever pay anything to anyone over the phone if you don't know for sure you owe it to that company If something is in collections make sure that collection company actually has it now!!

    Enough is enough
RF & Assoc had the audacity to call my employers payroll department to tell them that I was being served the next day at work with a summons and to avoid this and any garnishments I needed to call the 866-764-9779 number.  When I called this number they would not give me proof of the debt but tried to harrass me into giving them my debit card number so they can secure payment before giving me any proof or information of the debt!  They were condescending and out right told me I was not a very smart person...  Obiviously I out smarted them because they never were able to pressure or scare me into giving them any kind of payment.  They misrepresented themselves to my employer saying they were calling from a law firm on behalf of the laywer handling the case even gave a case number.  When I talked to "Chris" (the most obnoxious person I have ever dealt with) I asked him for the lawyer's name and number he put me on hold while he supposedly was getting the information came back on said it would take a while I told him that is fine I will wait.  Finally he came back on and said they deal with so many lawyers he couldn't give me a name or number.  I finally told him that I was done speaking with him I want his manager he again put me on hold came back said it would be a while and that in the mean time he would explain to me again what I needed to do.  I told him I do not want to hear or talk to you anymore I am done and I will wait for his manager.  A women finally came on the line she was not as pushy as Chris and when she saw she was getting no where with me she told me I would have to do the leg work myself to find out about the debt they say I owed and hung up.  These people are horrible and thier tactics are illegal.  They harrass you in the worst way and I can see how people would give in under the pressure.  They need to be stopped. I filed a complaint with FTC and I am researching any other sources that can help put a stop to these horrible people.

Been on the phone with these scum bags off and on all day. There claiming I owe 15k on account that was paid and closed back in 2002. Thinking this was a legitimate call and wanting to keep my credit in good standing I called my bank in which I had taken out a debt consolidation loan in 2002. I received proof that was needed but did not offer it up. I wanted them to disclose payment history and proof of this so called debt at which point Mr Brown AKA Mike Lee, AKA John Thompson said that they had none of this info and that because of a remark I made he took it upon him selve to file court papers for me to be summoned to which I told him bring it on because the burden to prove debt lies on him. Luckily I have the documentation to prove debt was paid and account was closed. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING!!!! Also they have left numerous messages at my place of employment saying sheriff's office is looking for me!

This is RF & Associates (bill collector). They are a bunch of scum bags and will cuss you out and threaten to serve you papers. They pose as working for law enforcement or court or say they're a litigation firm. Don't give these idiots a penny even if you do owe something! Make them send you legal documentation of the bill. They are required by law to show written proof. Also, file a complaint about them through the FTC or your district attorney if they're doing things illegally (which is the only way they do business). Something needs to be done about them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another phone number of theirs is: 877-801-4141 (the lady answered the phone "corporate" but she was about as smart as the first guy who called me) I told her I refused to fax her anything proving this bill was paid and said I would only certify mail her.

    She gave me this address:
    17602 17th St. Suite 102-10
    Tustin, CA 92780

I looked at my credit report and they pulled one of my credit reports a couple weeks ago and that address is:
    501 N. Golden Circle Dr S
    Santa Ana, CA 92705

Thanks for your help Lamet. The 501 address is what showed up on my credit report along with that 877 number. The lady at the 877 number gave me the wrong address then apparently. I wrote to the district attorney of CA and my state along with the FTC. I guess my certified letter won't go to the address it's supposed to go to then since she gave me the wrong address. These people are UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

This number called me yesterday evening 866-764-9779. saying if i didnt call them back they were going to serve me papers. i called the number back and a lady answered saying "hello". she couldnt give me a name of the company so i knew it was fraud. I gave them my name just to see what info they have. They were trying to collect on a citibank bank for $5300  that was almost 7yrs old. This creditor has never contacted me on this card, so i thought why would they now. i spoke with Andrew Taylor ext 831. i told him i would have to look into this and he hung up. i found this website and i read other people comments, so this company is not legit and i already reported them to the attorney general and ftc.

    Beware
BEWARE...  This business uses unfair debt collection practices!

I received a call at work from a "process server" telling me that I need to call RFA immediately unless I want to get served with court documents at work.  Which I knew was a complete lie, no process server calls and tells you to call the company who is "suing" you to work out a deal.  They get paid to serve papers and nothing else.  To see what this was really about, I called and spoke with "Andrew Taylor" in their "Legal Dept".  He thought he was slick because had information on me and kept telling me that he wouldn't have that information if he didn't have the legal rights to sue me.  I already knew how they got my information, they had checked my credit report 3 days earlier.  So this sorry attempt to intimdate me was not going to work.  He told me I owe $1,100 to Citibank, which I have NEVER opened a credit card with them in my life.  I told him it was a mistake but he said that it was my failure to check my credit report and told me that if I didn't work out a settlement with them, they would sue me, garnish my wages, and put a lien on my assets.  I pay monthly to have my credit monitored so I knew this was yet another sorry attempt to intimidate me.  I immediately told them according to the Fair Debt Collections Protections Act, they have to validate my debt and he started to attack me personally and hung up on me.  No reputable business would do something like that.

Also, if you plan on calling them after receiving information that you need to call or get sued... I recommend tape recording the conversation because if you decide to take them to small claims court, this would be invaluable evidence against them because I am sure they will never admit that they illegally threatened or intimidated you to pay the debt.

I filled a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, I suggest everyone one do the same to put these crooks out of business!

This number called my mothers house Monday saying that I was being summoned to court and that they would be serving me the papers at 9 am Tuesday morning.. Unless I called the 1-866-764-9779 ext. 206 to speak with Mrs. Evans number immediatley. So when I call she tells me that she can only hold the case for 24 hours while I come up with the money to pay. And court cost would be around 2-3000.00, So it would be in my best interest  to just pay the 940.78 that I owed on the card.. the card was from 2006 and was never used.. It was activated but no purchases were ever made on the card and that is all in interest.. Mrs. Evans called me back today and told me that if I did not contact by 2:15 I would be seen in court..

I wonder how these people sleep at night. I get a call stating that I am being summoned to court as a defendant in a collections case. They stated that they came to my house the day before to try to contact me, now I was home all day and nobody came.

This RF associates called my cell today looking for my husband with a case number saying I need to call back within 2-4 hours before the summoned us to court and we had a failure to appear.  I called the company back and the answer "corporate" after giving my case number that they had left on my voicemail they had me talk to someone other that who had called me and he was VERY pushy.  His name is John Mitchell at ext 213.  After saying they could stop the papers if I could pay them a settlement of 2500 dollars immediately or do 4 monthly payments of 784 to total over 3500.  I asked if they could email me the documents to prove this and after giving me email address to them and spelling it out multiple times.  He called me hours later to tell me he could email me any paperwork.   I got suspicious at this point and did some research.  Don't pay these people.  Please save yourself the hassle and just don't even respond to them.  I filed a complaint with the FTC, if you get called please do the same!  :)  Best of luck to everyone!
