I have been receiving 10 or more calls a day from 7am to 10:30 pm from this company Seven days a week!!!! I have told them over and over that I have signed with a debt management company and given them the info how to contact the representative that is handling my account. They seem to prefer calling and harrassing me instead. This has been going on for weeks.

Upon buying a new cell phone, I received incessant messages from this number. Like many others posted on this site, they would often leave multiple messages in one day.  The "important" message would be left without the name of the company or who they were trying to reach, which drove me nuts because I wasn't sure if it was something important for me, or something for the previous owner of my phone number.  After the message, they would provide a code of five or six digits.  I would try to call but either no one would answer it or (once) I reached a telemarketing-like recipient and demanded they remove the number from their database (to no avail).  Something curious though: I lost my original cell phone on which they used to call, immediately reported for my cell account to be suspended, and got a replacement phone (with my same old number) almost immediately - it has been about a month and a half of no calls from this number on my new phone UNTIL TODAY!

Another one of these idiotic toll-free calls in which there is only prolonged silence on their end. What is the purpose of such calls? To determine if someone actually answers the phone, so that they can call back and foist their schemes?

As consumers we should really be allowed to block individual numbers. Evil phone companies be damned!

I am getting calls regularly on my cell phone from this number. The man is asking for a Robert somebody and I have told him repeatedly that this is not his phone number.  I am trying to find a way to stop him from calling my cell phone.

They would call me 2-3 times per day; with a recording saying that they had a message for "Michael Pane" I ignored them for a few months until they got to the point of calling me up to 5 times per day and in the middle of the night.  They were calling on my cell phone, which I’ve had for about 3 years, and is on the "do not call" list.  Finally one day I just had enough and pressed the number to retrieve the message and was forwarded to some lady who sounded like she smoked a carton a cigarettes each day, turns out that she was pretty nice and just had laryngitis.  She insisted that I was this Mike that she was looking for and that I owed them money (without coming out and saying that) I hollered at her for almost an hour that I was not Mike, and my name was Mr. Mylastname she then tried to get my social security number from me and I told her hell no!  She did not like that, but lots of yelling later she finally came out and told me that Michael Pane has been signing up for deferred payments on purchases and giving my cell number as his.  I told her to remove my number from their database, she claimed that she did and marked him as being a bad number.  That was on Nov 29, 2007, today; Jan 17, 2007 I just got another call from them, while in class so I did not answer it.  The next time that they call me I am answering and going through the whole thing again this time I will make it clear that my lawyer will become involved.   I Googled their number and found this site, hope that you guys can beat their system!

Please stop these people from continually calling my cell phone.  Thank you.

The only way to stop them is to send them a Cease Communication letter (VIA Certified Mail, with return receipt requested.

If they continue to call after you have proof that they received your letter, they can be fined up to $1,000.00 PER violation.

These people claim to be lawyers for Greentree Credit when they are not...they are just a factoring company called Pencro & Associates hoping to cash in on old debts they purchase. I have asked repeatedly and also written them requesting verification be sent to me which they have not provided. They claim the letter they send in the mail telling me about the debt is all they have to do. I told them no according to the FCRA they must provice written proof - thats usually when they hang up. They call numerous times a week. Tonite I called them back and asked for a manger. I got DARNELL BOWLING  - 'floor supervisor' who stated "didn't you just get a call from us, why are you calling us back" I stated because I was sick and tired of the calls and unless they could verify the claim they state they have they should cease and desist the harassing phone calls. He stated "What are you trying to predict tomorrow - how do you know we will call tomorrow" What an arrogant moron..I relayed if they did not stop calling I would file a complaint with the Attorney General and his exact statement was "go ahead what are you waiting for - why wait until tomorrow - go ahead and do it tonite" Well Mr. Bowling will get his little hearts desire...They have used numerous numbers to call me from - tonite was 866-287-3931. There should be a way to sue these companies for millions - bet that would stop them

I always get calls from random people asking for Dominique, and they've been doing that for over a year. That doesn't matter to me.
But what I don't like is this damn 866 number. They call everyday, sometimes even more than once. Never leave a message. When I answer the phone when they call, to attempt to tell them to sod off, there's creepy ass music. I push talk, hold phone to my ear, and I hear some kind of music from like a horror music. It's creepy as hell! It doesn't help  that it only lasts for about 5 seconds before they hang up. It's so annoying

these people called thanksgiving night at 6 pm.....i cannot get these people to stop...im refering this to my attorney.....anyone wanna get in on a class action suit.......?????...........contact me,,,,,,

Report this number to donotcall.gov or consumer affairs as they are placing harassing phone calls.  They are a collection agency.  Even after settling debt, they continue to call and insist I did not state in words that I wanted settlement.  [THANK GOD I KEEP ALL MY PAPERWORK AND NOTES CONCERNING CERTAIN MATTERS].

I keep getting calls from 866-779-9279. When I answer the call, there is a pause, then a recording telling me to hold on while my call is being transferred. Then the call gets disconnected. Pity.... I was hoping to open a can of verbal Whoop Ass on the harassing scumbags.

I guess I am lucky. They called through the swotchboard at work & it was just a recording that said to hold---but then they disconnected!

They call a dozen times a day.  I always yet a "Hold on for an important Call", then a "All representatives are Busy" and finally a hang up.  Incredibly frustrating.  I reported them to donotcall.gov.  

I don't owe money to a collection agency, but I have never been able to talk to a real person.  Sounds like it would be a waste of time anyway.

Fisrt of all I would like to let you all know this collection agency is not affiliated nor associated with Bank of America. They will harras you to the ends. If you tell them that you are reporting them to the Banking commision they leave you alone for the rest of the day but try again in a few days. Caller calls repeatedly asking for "Cesar Romero" and either leaves messages or is an automated phone call.  I just phoned back to tell them such a person is not at this number, and the person I spoke with "Armando" was very vague about what the company is and what they do.

These people call several times a week. Will not leave messages - say it is a "personal business matter." This has been going on for over a year.

I get these calls several times per day for months. With all of these complaints, how are they still able to do this?  NO ONE has shut them down by now?
