This place has been calling me for YEARS! I've talked to these people SEVERAL times and explained that my mortgage has been paid off for almost fifteen years and the ones that I talked to have been cooperative and said that they'd they take me off their call list BUT they get a new call list every week and every week I'm back on it! Actually the people that answer if you press a key are not the ones that call you. A call center calls with the recorded message and it you press a key then you're switched to a business that has no direct connection with the call center. I'm not sure that the people that you actually talk to even have any way to take you off the call list  or if they're not making empty promises! Who ever is making the deal with the call center to have them call people and forward the live ones to them is not in their office and is far above their pay grade!

I've also called the people in DC that are supposed to be enforcing the Do Not Call list a BUNCH of times and all I can say is what a bunch of good for nothing beaucratic MORONS!

Call your Congress critter and tell the worthless POS to do something about enforcing the Do Not List or you'll vote against him come the next election regardless of who's running against him, then DO IT!  It's the only way that we'll ever put an end to this nonsense!

First of all any list, no matter who compiles it has to be run through the do not call list. Punishment is a $500 fine per unsolicited call. Second is the term unsolicited. If you contact them you have solicited in legaleze and they can call you as much as they want to from there on. Do not contact them make a complaint. I had to push complaints to the point where the Govt came back and said they denied everything. At first they wouldn't even admit it was their #. Once the Govt pushes them they will blow you off in a formal letter, but you will never get telephone communication from them again.

Exact same story here.  Mortgage paid off over a decade ago.  I have talked to folks and they say sorry and claim I will be removed.  One may think they would want to do this just for the sake of their own productivity but apparently they are time slaves and just want to get on to the next call without being bothered.  Often their task masters have them thinking they can get some unobtainable bonus.
Congress has it's hands full right now but yes, we need to have some way to blast companies like this.
For now all we can do is try reporting them to www.donotcall.gov.  There are people looking at the data base and they do follow up on leads.  But there is not enough enforcement.

Thank you "Enough" for the info.  I will take care of this tomorrow.  I have received 6 calls from this number in 3 days! They do not talk when you answer the phone...just burn cell minutes or they hang up.  I called back and a forigen accent mumbled something about a loan...so I hung up.  I blocked the number, yet the calls keep coming.

Note the name of the caller, phone number and time/date. Look around online. Notorious rip off telemarketing scam, targeting veterans VA Loans. The coporation is easy to find address and business info online. The FTC (U.S. Federal Trade Commission) is going to have a big "Robocal Summit" this October. You can get info about that at the ftc.gov website; the FTC also runs the National Do Not Call List.

NEVER call a robocall telemarketing sheme back at some toll free number they give you, claiming THEY will put you on a Do Not Call list -- they won't. They just want a live person (YOU) to verify that the potential pigeon they called (YOU) is really reachable. Then they will call you again and again. Forever.

Let as many websites & blogs & people you know about who is bugging you; and get people to GO TO THE ROBOCALL SUMMIT IN OCTOBER. Even if you can't testify there, MASSES OF ANGRY PHONE CUSTOMERS should show up outside at the location with their complaints. Share this info.

Lady is John **** Home?  Who is this?  Are you  John ****?  What company do you work for?  Is this John?  No!  The question was, what company do you work for?  Mortgage Investors of America , is John *** home?  No! then I hung up.  That was yesterday around 8:30 9:00pm.  Today, Sunday two calls so far from the same number.  They left no messages [3:06 pm  Sunday 8/12/2012 ].

I don't know who this company is nor did I ask for them to call me.   Quit calling me & eating up my minutes.

Yes, this does apply to cell phone numbers because you can also register your cell phone with the gov't on the no call list.  But in order for this "no call list" to actually work, everyone & I mean everyone, has to start filing against these annoying callers.  Our number is in an automatic calling system & a lot of times it's calls to see if anyone will answer.  That is why some people say no one is on the phone.  That's because they aren't.  It's just a call out from an automated system to see if anyone answers & at what time they answered so a real person can call you back.

I am on the no call list & have been since I first heard about it.  I have a home phone & have an anwer machine with caller id on it & when it rings, if I don't know this number, I don't answer it. I also have a cell phone that has call blocking on it.  I've had a few calls on it that I don't recognize & I just go to the call blocking feature & block them.  After about a year, I no longer get calls I don't know.

I think all phones, home & cell phones should have a feature that lets you imput phone numbers of whom you select to allow to call you.  And if a person trys to call you that isn't on that list, then their number shouldn't be able to get to your phone & their call should dissolve into oblivion!!  That would totally stop a lot of people calling & trying to get personal info from people for the purpose of identity theft.

I'd even pay extra on my phone for something like this!  If I had better knowledge of how electronics work, I'd be working on an add on to home phones & a download feature for cell phones.  But then I'm not electronics smart.

This phone number has been calling me for six months off and on. When they call, they call every day 2-5 times a day for 2 months. They then take a month off then repeat the process over again. I dont have any good advice but there are pieces some good advice given if you read enough complaints and are willing to take legal action.

This is a refiance mortgage company for veterans. It's the worst group on the net. they cold call EVERYDAY. i have answered, and called them back...telling them i just refinanced 30 days ago but thank you. This doesnt stop them! They wont take you off the list, when i asked to be taken off they said "sure, i can help you with that, what's is your current loan rate"? This company has no integrity or ethics! Somehow, they are dumb enough to think if they call you everyday for 6 months you will change your mind!  I also know if you try to refinance with them, they will rip you off on the closing costs. Go on to you cell phone site and block their number, this is all you can do. Report them to the BBB, we need to get their criminal and unethical practices out so  no one falls into their trap
