- Reality Check replies to steve m.| 2 repliesThat works with legitimate sales calls. Some companies will respond to the DNC list. Most of the calls we are reporting are unsolicited and aren't going to stop if you report them. They don't care. I just put them on the caller block. I have it built into my phone system and also with the phone company. After a while of being blocked they just quit. The DNC list for these kind of harrassments is probably just wishful thinking.

- MariaThis number keeps calling me, never leaves me a voice mail. I'm getting irritated!
- jai w replies to Jane HofmanI too thank you for posting the website. I just used the live chat feature and "Phillip" told me to give them 72 hours and "I would never hear from them again". Crossing my fingers that it's true!
- FinishedSittingBackThese "people" called me over 60 times in 90 days. I told them several times to stop, asked them nicely to put me on their internal do not call list. Nothing. Here is what finally got them to stop.
I listened and feigned interest. I got the persons full name and used it often in the conversation.
Once I had a fragile relationship with her, I told her how often I have been getting calls from this company. I tried to make her understand in a nice way, how completely inappropriate and illegal these business practices are.
I then asked Nancy if they have a Do Not Call policy that she could send me. She stumbled and finally said, "uh, yes?" I asked her to please send me a copy of said policy. She took my address information and then I asked her to please place me on the companies internal Do Not Call list.
I can't say that every agent you get will comply with this if you do talk to them like this, but get them to open up personally, and then you can give them some ownership of the harassment too.
I don't know what these people do to get their agents to ignore people, but this company needs to be stopped.- Caller: Mortgage Investors Corp / Amerigroup Mortgage Corp

- Jason"Florida's fraud watchdog muzzled"
Tampa Bay Times Editorial, Saturday, July 28, 2012
“Even as Florida was leading the nation in mortgage fraud, Tom Grady thought it wise to close
half the state's regional offices charged with investigating the mortgage business. As head of
the Office of Financial Regulation, Grady, a millionaire securities lawyer, took a bulldozer to
the place, slashing office resources and personnel, including fraud investigators, and ousting a
veteran administrator to put a crony of the governor's in his place. ..Grady was handpicked by
Gov. Rick Scott, a neighbor in Naples, to take over as commissioner of OFR, the state agency that
oversees and investigates mortgage brokers, banks and securities firms. He shares Scott's
government-cutting, antiregulation ethos, and during his short tenure moved aggressively to pare
back the office's physical presence throughout the state. Florida is known as a hotbed of
mortgage and financial fraud. Fort Lauderdale is home to so many scammers it's known as "Fraud
Lauderdale." But Grady, a former conservative Republican legislator, led the effort to chop more
$3.5 million from the agency by eliminating 81 positions including investigators and closing
regional offices in Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Pensacola and Fort Lauderdale.”

- Jessicathey call multiple times a day and never leave a message!
- Ken| 1 replyReceived numerous calls from this number. They are SELLING mortgage loans. They are clearly a COLD CALLING TELEMARKETER. For every call, I file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission:
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
These calls are a DIRECT violation of Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA") of 1991. Of course the FTC is doing nothing as is normal practice for a bloated, incompetent government agency. They investigate about one company a year.
Go to this web site and file a complaint. The only way FTC will get off their lazy a55es is for thousands of complaints to be filed.
Every time this telemarketer calls me they use a different company name but the caller ID is always the same. Another trick to avert the law.
Keep on filing those complaints.- Caller: Amerigroup Mortgage

- Let's Get Serious| 1 replyThe name of the offending company is:
Mortgage Investors Corporation
6090 Central Ave
Saint Petersburg, FL 33707-1622
Their Chairman and CEO is: William Edwards
I file a Do Not Call Registry Violation every time they call me. You should to:
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
I also filed a complaint with the West Florida Better Business Bureau. Mortgage Investors already has a BBB rating of C because if its illegal telemarketing practices. Lets file some more:
https://westflorida.app.bbb.org
The only way to shut these people down is to file complaints. Put the Do Not Call Registry Complaint form in your browser favorites and complain with every call. It takes less than a minute. This company has such a low regard for American's Veterans that we should all yell at them very loudly and let them know that we will not tolerate their abuse of our Veterans.- Caller: Mortgage Investors Corporation
