You can have a talk with Florida Department of State/Division of Corporations about that. Some other  agencies are the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, and the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Federal Housing Authority (FHA), and Veterans Administration (VA).

I kept getting these calls too. They'd call me every hour, 5-6 times a day. The company is Mortgage Investors Coporation and they're based in St Petersburg, FL. They do not care if you're on the do not call list, nor will they listen to you when you tell them to stop calling you, but here is how I got them to stop calling me - at least for now. Everytime they called me after I informed them to stop and that my number was on the do not call list, I filed formal complaints with my state's (I'm in MO) do not call list, the FTC (national do not call list), and the Florida Attorney General's office.  It got so bad that I was - and still am - considering hiring my own attorney to take legal action. I've even filed complaints with the St Petersburg Police Dept, but they will only accept your compaint if you're a resident of St Petersburg. Non-residents they will reject your compaint and tell you to call your local police dept. However, they did give me a name of someone who is working to remove complainant's names from MIC's data base. That person is Mr. Wes Bailey, (727) 347-1930, and he works in the legal department at Mortgage Investors. I've also informed them that one more phone call from them will constitute a law suit from me.

I understand the problem the FTC has roping criminals spoofing numbers.  This Amerigroup or MIC appears to be a real business.   I have told them 5 or more times that I no longer have a VA mortgage to refinance but they keep calling.  I have yelled, ridiculed and insulted - they assure me I will be removed from their list and yet 3or 4 weeks later they call with the same script.  I have filed more than 5 Do Not Call complaints.  Hey FTC - this company should not be that hard to find  - unless someone else is spoofing their number.  Whoa - I just blew my mind.......

I am a receptionist and just took the second call asking for my husband at my work from this place. When i state i am his wife and you've called his wife's office, the guy says, oh so you're his wife? I said, that's what i just said. He goes on to tell me that he is so and so (i cant remember i was so annoyed and confused as to why someone would be calling MY work asking for my husband) from Mortgage Investors of America, do you have a VA loan on your mortgage? I said NO, we do not have a VA loan for our mortgage, we never have, and my husband was never a veteran. He says oh, sorry about that i'll make that note. But i doubt that will happen considering thats what i was told the first time i talked to these idiots! What the heck is going on?! Why are they calling MY work and not my husband?!

Daily call random times DEC 7, 2012 through DEC 11 2012.  Rings once and disconnects before I can answer, no message.

They keep calling my son saying they are a college scholarship company. He has told them repeadedly not to call.

I called them back, he asked if I had a mortgage through VA loans. Told him I didn't, he apologized for calling me in error and said they would remove my #.

We get a call from this number occasionally. Last one was 12/07/12 at 8:35 PM. I didn't answer since I knew what it was.

My God these jerks don't stop! They've been calling me for a year plus now. And I've told them no many times to stop. Harassing veterans to sell them a variable rate mortgage. They don't even answer questions just say they'll send somebody to my house. WTH? Horrible business practice. I would love to meet whomever is in charge in person.

Don't know I why keep getting these calls about VA mortgages.

Why doesn't somebody proscute these folks? I've got them blocked, on the
"Do not call list". And they keep calling! What good is this list???

They call every morning at the same.  never leave a message.  ID says "800 Service".  Always wake up my husband who is a stroke patient.  Needs to stop.  We are on the DNC list!

Go to the BBB website for West Florida (http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-revi ... urg-fl-52003613) and you will see the numerous complaints filed.  If you browse the complaints, you will notice the companies standard cut and paste response to every one of the complaints.  BBB rating is a "D".  File a complaint with the BBB and on the Do-Not-Call registry website.

One would hope that eventually, someone would step in and actually do something about this problem.  (Oh, like say fine them the $16,000 per violation (as stated on the Do-Not-Call website)for calling numbers on the Do-Not-Call registry.

They call my cell phone every day sometimes multiple times and often on the weekends. I've spoke with representatives and they've already agreed that I don't owe enough on my house to use their program anyway but they still continue to call. I've explained this four times to four different representatives and asked politely that they stop harassing me to no avail.

3 to 4 calls a day; no one talks on the other end.  It's been a couple months of this at this point.  It looks like it's some sort of VA Loan offer from other posts.  I have no idea why they would call and not at least try to sell me something.

This number calls at least once a day now. I do not have a mortgage and have not inquired about one. I did tell the first time they called that I do not have a mortgage and do not wish to be contacted by them again.
