I called Chase myself to report this, because the caller said he was from "Chase Receivables" but I have no collections with them or anyone. He said his name was "Roy Fields." Chase looked it all up and said there is nothing legit about it; they will report it, and they congratulated me on my not having given out any identifying information. Scam!

I was just "butt dialed" by this number-meaning I heard half a ring then they hung up. They did leave a recorded message about owing a debt and it was from "Chase". We have no outstanding bills, but I think I'll call them back to see if I can make a game of it :-)

So-I called and a woman told me this was Chase Receivables" in reference to an outstanding bill for my husband-she had the correct name. She would not talk to me until I gave her birthdate, last 4 digits of social, etc. I told her I will not be giving any information like that over the phone and told her "You obviously have a lot of info on my husband, so you can mail us the bill" She said she would do that, I will wait and see.

Using the information I have provided on page 5 of this thread:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

About Chase Receivables. Company Overview. Chase Receivables originated as a collection agency in 1953 as the Credit Bureau of Napa County, Inc. located in Sonoma, California. In 1986, Fred Merrill purchased the Credit Bureau of Napa County and transformed the company into the DBA Chase Receivables.

Never answer these scumbags. Even if you do owe a debt, every state has a statute if limitations, usually around 6 years....if you answer them, you reset the clock. After 6 years it just drops off... Thw ultimate way to screw them...they get NOTHING and like it! Screw em all!!!!!

I have been receiving calls from this company claiming to be chase receivables.  I have no outstanding debt with them. They will not say what or whom the call is for. I will not call them back and want them to stop harrassing me.

I got today a call from a woman to my cellphone. Telling me the same, stating they are from Chase Receivables and the call was regarding for a Collection. I was paralyzed for a second, thinking if I have a possible debt. I asked her to give me information, but she refused indicating that before I needed to confirm my name and address. I said how do I confirm you are calling me from Chase?....she answered if I was not calling you from Chase from where I will get your phone number -outrageous- I never give my cellphone number. I told her if you have my address why you don't send me a collection letter, my lawyer will contact you. Anyway she said politely "that's fine, I will send you a letter". While that happen I was on internet looking for the number and I found this site, I applaud my good thinking. What scammers nerves!!!

So apparently a blocked number can still leave a message. Just like above, it's some computer-voice lady saying she's from Chase Receivables and that I owe a debt. Never had a loan from Chase or an account from Chase, clearly a scam.

I was at the supermarket last Monday (2/20). When I got home, I noticed there was a call from "Chase Receivables" on the caller ID. I first thought that it was Chase Bank, but I don't have a Chase credit card. When they called back a few hours later, I realized it was probably for a medical bill that I was disputing with the medical group and the insurance company. They asked me to verify my date of birth. I would not, for feat of identity theft, and they hung up. I mistakenly called the number (866-855-3970) back; the woman on the other end of the phone apparently had called ID as well; she asked me to verify my date of birth again. And I refused again. On 2/21, I called my medical insurance provider; they said they would handle the disputed claim in-network. Which they did. I then called the medical group, to say the disputed bill was being processed by my insurance, and to call off the collection agency. Which they said they would. So far, I haven't heard back from Chase Receivables; I hope they stay away for good.
