Hey - all it took was a 2 minute Google search to find this number on the CRA website. It's for EI overpayments. It can be found by looking through this page: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/corporate/contact-information.html.

Not everything is a scam. Stop being so gullible. Maybe less Fox News?

rec'd a call for this number 8668645841 asking about my sin and a matter of a debt that must be paid back

+18668645841 called and it said canada revenue on caller ID buut everytime I've got a call from them when it was them it shows up private number... sooo idk

I also received this call and will be calling RCMP about this matter... I hope nobody else has answered this call.

I was contacted by a man asking for my personal info saying he is from E.i
And I asked for a number that I can call him back at he gave me his ID # as 204137 tac
And # 1-866-864-5841

They said my name but then asked for confidential information(SIN# etc.) for safety reasons. They said they are from Canada Revenue Agency

The CRA doesn't initiate contact by phone, they send mail.

They are a scam. Do not give them ANY personal info. Report the call to the RCMP over the phone or online. Canada Revenue told me they will NEVER call you asking for personal info or for payment EVER over the phone.

You must be one of the scammers lol. This number is ABSOLUTELY a scam. I called the CRA and explained the number that called me was trying to get my SIN and a payment out of me. They said they will never call someone asking for the info. So YOU are sus bruh

Most definitely a scam considering they do not even leave their name lol. I've had CRA contact me before about EI, but it was an expected phone call to discuss the claim, discussed beforehand. This is a total scam do not fall for it!

I received a call today from this number - pure scam, don't give out any personal info and reported to RCMP!

Had a message telling me to call back with my client ID or SIN. Like that is going to happen. NOT and telling me to call back at this number

Just had a message left.  Man calling.  Heavy accent.  No name left.  Just that it was about an urgent matter.  Not calling back.  They can send me a letter if it's legit

8668645841 called me and the ID comes up as GOC-GDC she said she was CRA and wanted info to confirm my identity.  They had my name, and not the name on my phone account.  I gave her a piece of my mind and hung up.

Too bad messages posted here can't travel back in time so that person (who clearly posted in 2021) could see your reply, which really has nothing to do with that post anyhow. And why are you even here? If you got a call from this phone number, why didn't you tell us about YOUR experience with it?
