Ihave been having this guy by the name of paul simmons calling me.. i think he is using multiple names. well anyways i had this MAN so stuck he was so pissed off he was like i am going to take personal interest in your case.. well that was a threat! Also my cousin is a police and i filled an harrasment clam against them. well my uncle decides to call this guy and of course he identified himself and of course they hung up on him... i flaged all credit angencies and checked who has requested a copy of my credit report, well what do you know Atire collection agencie did... He was too detailed like you have mentioned up above.. they are sick.

By bank says these people are located in several states.  they have many phone numbers and many names that they obviouslly reuse and mix up to combine with other such false names. I once worked for a credit agency myself and know that what adam says is true. Most collectors are legit just as most lawyers are legit too. however its the bad ones that give all of them a bad name. lets not let a few bad apples ruin the whole barrel. even I was fooled by these people. please check out my posting on the number above and the one I will leave at this number and the following number 800-504-5734

Please note tat I am trying to collect as much infromation on these people as i can. Phone numbers, addresses, names, dates, and whatever else we can come up with. I am meeting with a lawyer next wednesday (  the 27th of Feb. ) to discuss details on ways to stop these unlawful and imoral people. I just recieved a call at work from Jack Silver saying that I owe 459.75 for a cash advance loan that I recieved on 02/29/07. I closed my bank acct on 01/31/07 so there is no way anyone could have put a cash advance loan into my acct on 02/09/07. Then I was transfered to the "lead arbitrator"  whose name was Eric Greenway. He told me he was going to fax me proof that I owed the money. All I got was a letter stating that my case was forwarded to their office and the amount that I owed there is nothing stating dates or acct information like he said there would be. If they want my money they are going to have to take me to Court. I would love to see them come to Michigan for 459.75

Just had a guy by the name of Frank Lewis call me and tell me he was the lead arbitrator for this same law firm. He said he just wanted to get my side of the story before he sent the Montmorency cops to house my house and place of employment to send me a summons. I told him I didn't know what kind of scam he was running but I had talked to someone there earlier and they told me I had money deposited into my acct on 02/09/07 and my acct was closed on 01/31/07. He asked who I had talked to because he hadn't talked to me. I told him I talked to some guy named Jack Silvers and another guy who claimed to be the head arbitrator. I told him I don't know what kind of scam you are trying to pull but if you want to come all the way to Michigan for $400 more power to you.

I also was curious about this call how I have a filing against me (Uh where and what) Good luck to you yadda yadda yadda.  So I staarted looking up his information. WOW what a plethera of information!!!  So I found his website and went to the debt collections part and see what has been written.

Hey check with your states payday loans stautes.  I am in OK and just checked ours and apparently it is illegal to bring criminal action against someone who defaults on a payday loan AND they can only collect 25 dollars if you default.

Did you show up to court??  Also check at the website I posted above there may be alimit to what they can take.  Also if criminal charges are prohibited in your state you may file to vacate the garnishment.  Alot of times it happens that if you don't go to court the judge gives them what they ask for.  Contrary to popular beliefe judges don't know every law and case law and they REALLY don't know about consumer laws.  You will have to cite all that in your motion to vacate.  Usually you will find a very nice person in the clercks office that will help you through the paperwork.  Also ask for court costs and return on your fees in your filing.

But check your state info first on payday loans.

Check your state statues it may be illegal for them to force you into electronic payment.

I keep getting messages from my family members that this patrick corbitt office keeps calling them and making threatning remarks,Even though the family members say they dont know me,These jerks keep calling,So i call them and they tell me they are gonna put me in jail for fraud!!!Who the hell are these people???I have never done any type of fraud!!

we received a call from phone number 1 800 841 7793  Patrick Corbett Law office.  to collect a debt.  They said there were representing a client and wanted me to pay them in two payments by credit card.  I was so upset because I did not want to be sent to court.   I demanded them to send documents by mail.  Which they never did.  By the 5th call they sent us a email with the bill.  I called to find out were they were located so I could pull up there website and found this board.  They are very nasty there.......DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE  TOTAL SCAM.............

So i received a call from Patrick Corbett law offices yesterday.  I searched the number that was given to me and found this forum.  Now nothing was said rudely or what i would call "nasty" to me, however, after reading some of your stories I got a little concerned.  I did take out a payday loan.  I did not pay it back.  I talked to my sisters husband (who is an attorney) he told me that if i took the loan out then PAY IT!  So i did.  The thing that bothers me on here is some of you seem to be looking for the loop hole here on how NOT to pay back what was loaned to you.  I guess if they were rude and "nasty" to you i understand.  But not paying because some open forum web site says not to, makes no sense to me.  Corbett is NOTHING compared to Capital One who filed a judgment over a disputed $600 credit card.  Which has been on my credit for the past two years.  I will NEVER pay capital one.

Well, thats your opinion.... This company is very crooked.  At least Capital One in reputable.  You would pay a crook rather than a legit company.....LOL

I got a call from "investigator Colby Sikes" from the office of attorney Patrick Corbett.  He was trying to contact my daughter regarding a summons he was scheduled to serve her with. Naturally I was disturbed.  I googled Patrick Corbett and read all the above comments.  Thank you for the information on catching this guy.  The number I was given to return the calls has changed to 866-893-2969 (New York area code?).  I am in Utah, so his hunting area has widened.

I know who it is they are bill collectors for people like Check N Go; Check Loan Service's; Payday Loans, etc.  I live in Oklahoma and they have harrassed me & my family before also.  Supposedly they will call and tell you that this investigator will be to your house by the next day to give you a summons to appear in court.  Well, that is just a scare tactic! If you have a check n go or payday loan they are not take you to court because you did not use that check to pay for goods or services.  So, next time they call you should tell them where they can get to and how they can get there!

Well I have a guy calling here leaving messages with my 12yr old daughter so now that I'm reading this, let him call back cause I am going to tear into his ass!  My baby called me crying saying some man called saying if I don't call this lawyer back by 4pm today he was going to take me to jail...He has lost his damn mind! I will be filing a complaint first thing Monday morning!
