I'm 16 years old and i've necer had a job never had a credit card or debit card and they keep harassing me!!!!! I's it a scam???

A woman called here and left a message, sounding all concerned and wondered if I knew a neighbor and how she could reach him right away. She gave me a name and the address of the house next door and asked me to call her right away at 1-866-958-5850 extention 506.

I think that a collection agencies should be legally prohibited from stooping to such tactics as calling friends, neighbors and family. I'm getting harrassed by a collection agency seeking someone I've never met. Unbelievable!

They said they were from CAA..as in automobile coverage. Before calling me, they called my parents (whom have a different last name??)to get my phone number. I do not owe anyone any money. They gave me an address and phone number that was not my own, phishing for mine. I didn't tell them anything. I tried calling the number back, it goes to voicemail. I called the 866-958-5850 number. The receptionist transfered me to another voicemail! I called a second time and the same receptionist said I wasn't allowed to speak to a person, only the voicemail. I called Bell, they are of no help.

When you Google this phone number the first hit that comes up is www.cca.ca

The unfortunate part is.... it is all legal! I research it. The laws would have to been changed. I know with one agency I was getting calls 10x a day. CCA was not one of them. Seriously! 10x a day, everyday! That is harassment.

Wah wah wah.....Maybe if youpeople would PAY YOUR BILLS they would not have to bother you at all!!!!

Have received many calls from these people, searched the internet  found the head office is in Winnipeg, Manitoba they are a collection agency, just spoke to their customer service, they actually were cooperative and have removed my phone number from their list. They were looking for someone I have never heard of,  who at one time must have had the same phone number.

After making sure that a 1-866 number wouldn't cost me a bunch to call (from the landline), I called them back and asked them to remove my number from whatever it may be, since I had no clue who they were and have no reason for them to call me 3 times/day.

Come to find out - they had our number due to 3 previous owners of this number. Within 3 minutes, the lady said she removed our number from their names and that should stop the calling ... Hopefully it actually does.

Buggers called my parents. Apparently just going down the list of names in the phone book. So happens I have the same name as this debtor they are after. Same company as reported - CCA - Commercial Credit Adjusters - www.cca.ca. I work in the industry on the creditors side of things so I have heard of them before. In the past they have had a really bad rep. I called back the number left 1-866-958-5850 - the called ID they called from was 204-272-2060 - the collector who I reached was ok - not bad to deal with at all. Turns out it was a case of mistaken identity and he advised he would take my folks off their contact list. I was ready for a fight as I am well versed in the law of collections and know what they can and can not do... Turns out I had my claws and fangs out for nothing - still never hurts to be prepared - sword drawn :p

Started getting these calls as soon as we signed up with a new cell plan. Yes this is a collection agency. It's not CAA it's CCA (note from Tiger above). As it turns out the last user of our number apparently owes money. It's okay to call the toll free # back and talk to them. They took us off their call list right away.

I was sent this number on Facebook (!!!!) with the name Danie Csuk and asked to call it.  I owe absolutely no money whatsoever, but apparently they now resort to internet creeping.  I'm certainly not planning to call them.

LEGALLY COLLECTION AGENTS CAN ONLY CALL YOU 3X PER DAY.  IF YOUR GETTING 10 CALLS THEN YES, IT IS CONSIDERED HARRASMENT.

If you happen to take a look at the "Collection Agent act it states they cannot call a cell phone as it charges the customer, they have to provide you with a written letter before they can start calling you, they also have to identify themselves to the customer. This site explains what aa collection agnecy CAN OR CANNOT do. Also try contacting the company as I did and quote these rules to these people, trust me they stop calling!

They call your place of work, too.. luckily, it's for a lady who's out of the office today. Lol.

Maybe you co-signed for something and don't remember, I got a call from them and this was the case.

Got mine today too. If you are concerned about this type of b.s. continue to google when you get a strange call. this is obviously bs.  There are some real losers out there trying to steal your money.

We have been getting the calls since we moved here and I had just a bad enough day to call back today.

They were calling for a lady I have never heard of and when I said, never heard of her, the lady on the phone says, 'OH, she'd dead'.  We've been calling her for 4 years.  I asked her why they would be calling a dead person.   Then they asked if I knew two other people.  I told her no but that even if I did know them, none of them was me and to remove me from her list.
She assured me they would.

Not everyone that gets these calls has EVER owed anyone money.  Phone numbers get recycled.

This company called my previous residences and current residence and asked my past roommate and my current partner to tell me that I need to phone them back. They have been calling every morning at 7:30am.

I called back and was told I owe money on my cell phone bill so I told the person that I would speak with Bell. The person I asked me to call back with the person at my cell phones name and employee number.

I called and found out that due to a change in my address I had not recieved a old bill from Bell. The amount owing did jive.

I paid the bill directly to Bell in my online banking.

I called back to the 1 866 958 5850 and let the person know.


I would suggest that anyone who recieves a call from this company finds out who they owe and calls them directly. I would also ensure you pay through a secured source and get both a bank receipt and reciept from the company you owe. We will see what happens from here, hopfully no call tomorrow morning.

They were going through same last names in phone book but I have a common last name asking for someone I didnt know by thier 1st name . Im  living in Toronto - Ontario so auto dialer I guess maybe 100 or so same spelled last names  .?? Strange to why would out of province an not a local one Im sure T.O  has plenty of collection agents let alone Ontario???? ????

really some times people get calls from these people for no reason at all, like from some one else having the number before..
