received a call, it was a 'computer speaker' trying to sound human claiming i needed to rectify an issue found on my tax return audit which is fraud.  i have not been audited.

can they be hung publicly?

The number 1-866-978-6618 left me a threatening message that I had hidden assets from the IRS! What a joke, these scammers are running out of tactics!

Called me just after 12 PM. I didn't answer and the caller left a voicemail claiming to be "The federal government' then repeated the number, urging me to call it back.

"IRS" scammer, do not answer or call.

A message about problem on tax return and asked me to call immediately

Its a scam.  The IRS will not call you.

Left message that I was hiding income from the federal gov and needed to pay immediately.  This is a scam to scare people into paying money to a scam.

Just got a call saying he was from the Criminal Division of the IRS.  I hung up and blocked future calls.

I got the same call yesterday and got a little scared but the more he talked the more it became obvious.

Scam computer voice saying I have filed a fraudulent IRS claim.

Call today from this Number claiming that there is a problem with the IRS ... This is a total scam.

Same experience...a caller saying that fraud was found on my tax return.  If you've received a phone call from this number, you can report it to phishing@irs.gov. If you've experienced any monetary losses due to an IRS scam, please report it to the Treasury Inspector General Administration (TIGTA) and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) through their Complaint Assistant to make the information available to investigators.

I got the same call claiming to be irs

I recently had a computerized message also stating I need to contact them asap to rectify a government financial issue. I'm glad I had my hiya app to let me know it was a scam #.

First it was phone calls now it's text messages.
