Some idiot is calling from this number making fear based and false claims of some tax misconduct on my part.  Seems to be an automated message.

They called and left a voicemail stating i was hiding funds from irs and to call them back. When I called them back there was no government recorded announcement it was just a man with a foreign accent claiming to be the IRS when I asked who he was. He claimed he was an officer of the irs and that i had a lawsuit against me and needed to pay it. It was pretty obvious once I gave him a fake name and he continued as though it was real information he was looking at. This is the number they called from this time. This is the second time it's happened but different number. They have been reported to the appropriate gov agencies.

This seemed fake to me. It said it was the IRS asking to rectify my taxes I was hiding. I doubt that would be an automated call.

I received the same call just minuts ago.

866-978-6618 has been calling my cell numerous times. I am already aware of this being a scam caller, but they will not stop calling. Irritating!!!

irs scam, I gave them a fake name, then called them out on the fraud, and got the man to admit the scam. he then said he had a sick relative.

How bold was this guy telling me he was "officer" whatever his name was, of the IRS.  I told him to contact my accountant and he argued that just because my taxes are filed by an accountant didn't mean I didn't owe the money.  I hung up.

2 calls in 1 day, ummmmm if the IRS really wanted to find me............they have my address...SMH!

I just got a call from this number and ignored it. I listened to the message it left. WOW! It is a computer stating the I am hiding from the federal government and that it needed to be rectified immediately. The recording told me to call the number back now!
Seriously, If I was hiding, why would a computer compel me to turn myself in? Are there really people out there who fall for this? What kind of naive sheep like society do we live in? Even my 94 year old grandma can smell a scam when one calls her.
These people ought to be imprisoned! Of course, they are probably running this from Russia or somewhere else.

Another "IRS" Scam.  Robocall to tell me he was security officer with the IRS and that I had committed fraud and misconduct on my tax return.  I need to call right away to resolve the matter.

I returned the call to this number (they left a threatening voice mail suggesting an audit of my return disclosed criminal intent)  and the guy (foreign accent) represented himself as an IRS Agent and more specifically an Agent working within the criminal enforcement division of the IRS.  He started asking me for my name, social etc.  I ask politely how I could verify that he was legitimate and not a fraud.  He mumbled something that made no sense and ultimately hung up on me.  In my book - a SCAM/fraud, terrible manipulation that deceives unaware people and somehow should be investigated by the real IRS.  Am posting in the hope that others won't be pulled in to the SCAM

Funny - I just got off the phone with them.  Same deal as everyone else.... federal charges have been filed, arrest warrant, local coppers are coming to get me in 20 minutes and then they hung up.  Its soooo obvious that this is fake, but it may not be obvious to a lot of people unfortunately.  What's the Scam?  Have they asked anyone for money?  They hung up on me.

I got same called I needed to called back immediately cause I owe IRS money so I did just out of curiosity and when I said I wanted to investigate it more before giving them $3000 they said the sheriff will be at my house in 30-40min I said ok they know how to get here. It is a scam and they were Indian and rude when I would not pay lol police haven't come yet
