Just got a called from this #.  I did not answer but got a vm saying that " there was a fraud and misconduct on your tax that you're hiding from the federal government"  LOL...what a joke! SCAMS!!

What I should do now, I called back for the same reason, they left a message, claiming been from IRS, so I was worried about and I called back, but i was laughing because, it was funny all the mysterious voice and way they talked to me, so they hang up on me, telling me that I just should wait for the cups...

they said i have some tax issues and asking me to provide the financial details. I have asked them to provide the proof they are calling from and they simply said your will receive the document and disconnected the phone

Got a text from this number claiming they are the irs saying i defulted on my taxes and to call back or an arrest warrant will be issued. Scam... i didnt call back. This is the first time I've been contacted by scammers in a text though

My experience is same as all of the other comments. Robotic message. They answer "criminal investigation unit." Pretended I was upset asked what do they need, they said my name. Gave a fake name and they hung up. We kept calling from different cell and landline they either hang up or ask your name. Then it's a full VM and you can't leave a message. How are these #s allowed to even call people ? I suppose you get that ONE elderly person who's clueless & don't know this & their "debt" I sent the VM to someone I know at IRS. 100% scam. They have Indian accent and barely are able to understand them. Unreal.

Left the Fraud & Misconduct message.  They have cleaned up their grammar since Angela - 6/19.  Needed amusement so called number, "Criminal Investigation Division" answered.  I asked him if people still fall for this s*#t and he said they did.

Same as above. Tax fraud. So irritating.

I called them twice and they hang up on me after they read a false social security number back speaking in a thick indian acent. They said they are an officer in Washington DC working for the IRS, but the IRS is not in Washington DC. The name the guy gave me was Mike Jordan, almost like Michael Jordan from the Chicago Bulls :)
After being all stressed out that I would supposably go to jail as they claimed there is an arrest warrant for me, I found out its just a SCAM! So ignore and do not worry!  I almost had a heard attack so I hope you won't!

This is a scam! They said I need to pay on taxes and they were the IRS. I said I am the IRS and work for the police. lol they hung up

I spoke to the person on the other end, who has a heavy accent telling me that he was from IRS, investigates tax return fraud. I said --"you'd better not to call people like this as you are obviously a fraud. My text return is done with a professional CPA, there is no fraud! You should not call me again or call other people."  He insisted " just let him ask a question", I said "no" and hung up.

This number called me with a computer voice. IRS after audit - from criminal division of IRS. I received a similar phone call a few weeks ago - after calling my local IRS office they confirmed that I was not delinquent and not under audit. They gave me a number to report the phone call so I did. The call from 1-866-978-6618 is after confirming I was not under audit. Blocked number.

I not only got the call once but twice, stating that I needed to call immediately to the number regarding the IRS. this is Bull****.

They are claiming there is an arrest warrant and I didn't file my taxes funny thing is I'm a tax preparer and I filed mine and several others...lol this number is a fraud not sure what they are trying to gain with this scam but it is probably money

Received 2 calls from 866-978-6618 today. I was an automated voice that said his name is Marcus Brown. Claimed to be an officer with the IRS and I had committed tax fraud. Come on man...

scam af. kept calling all day, but i don't pick up unknown callers. my dumbass picked up and got a robot talking about i'm a criminal owing taxes to the IRS. i pay my taxes on time, ALL THE TIME. IRS will NEVER call you on the phone. this is even stated by the IRS on their website. don't fall for it!

They called, I answered: The automated voice claimed to be an Officer and with the IRS and that I was hiding something on my taxes. I had 24 hours to call them back.

An automatic voicemail has been left twice saying that I am hiding important information from the Federal Government. I informed my CPA who told me that this is probably a scam since the IRS  never calls taxpayers on the phone and that they always send a letter first.

Called twice and left a message claimed that I am hiding from the federal government.
