Apparently not because I still got the call

I just got the call from that number. It was related to my tax. That was computer voice, definitely not human. I am sure it is scam

A live person called me a few weeks ago. Heavy Indian Accent. Told me I owed the IRS over $3,000 lol. Do not recall the # he called me from. This time I received an automated message from the 1-866-978-6618 number. People need to be aware that the IRS would never contact you in this manner. I checked with them. Hang up, it's a scam

The recording said - we found that there was a fraud and misconduct on your tax which you are hiding from the federal government. This needs to be rectified immediately so do return the call as soon as you receive the message. The toll free number is 866-978-6618

Obviously the agents didn't make it the the correct location. I have spoken to this guy several times today. Needless to say, he doesn't like me.

Ok Peeps, the scammers are out in force today and I have already pissed them off! For some reason they get mad when you scam them before they get the chance to scam you. If you receive a call from these "IRS" wannabes please know that the IRS will not call you! They will send you numerous letter via regular mail, certified mail or registered mail.  These crooks tell you that you have an arrest warrant and that the police are coming to pick you up. THIS IS BULLCRAP! He said I owed $2997 to the irs. I played along to see what all they want you to do. Once i agreed to settle the matter "privately" they directed me to go to Walmart and purchase $3000 worth of walmart gift cards. Told him I couldn't drive and he advised me to call a cab. told him I didnt have a cell phone so he told me to call him back with info from the walmart card. I asked him how i would get my $3.00 in change. He told me the IRS agent would bring my change tomorrow with a soft copy of the receipt showing I paid. Once he realized that I had punked him he became very angry and called me some ugly names. His phone number is 1-866-978-6618. so if you get a call from this number, dont bother to call them back... Unless your just in a playful mood and want to make him mad! He has a thick indian accent and can get VERY mad! LMAO!!!

Said was IRS and I had committed fraud and need me to call immediately.

On two occasions, missed calls that left message about urgent message about finances.  Called number, guy with accent answered about investigative division of IRS.  Was hung up on three times, managed to say, "Put me on your do not call list".

Claim to be IRS and misconduct on tax matter. Did not call back!

I keep getting the same calls, saying "This need to be rectified immediately so do return the call as soon as you receive the message the toll-free number is 1-866-978-6618"  SCAM!

Called and left voice message about taxes saying they were irs

888-978-6618 Is a scam.  They asked for last 4 of SS and I told them I do not give that out over the phone.  They hung up.  I called back and ripped Brandon (with heavy Indian accent) and told him to GFHimself.  They wont pick up when I call back.  This is the 3rd time in as many weeks.

Called back for fun after looking the number up. No answer
