I haven't had a Capital One account in 30 years... and I paid it off then, so why didn't they even just say, call us back? BLOCKED now

Contact capital one customer service 18009557070 which got me to fraud dept. Which I questioned about the email I got from them they are looking into it.

This is capital one bank. Used them for 5 yrs.

I would like to know why I can't get an unsecured card for $500.00. I have hard INQUIRIES because I purchased 2 cars in 2 years. Never late on a payment. I have no credit card debt. If there is anything derogatory it is medical costs I am fighting. My husband got a card with a 700 dollar limit. He bought 2 cars in one year. His score may have been 640. I bought my credit to 640 on 2. But since I bought this new car the scores have dropped to 580 to 604. I just want to rent a car to see my grandchildren.For several months my husband who co signed for my car had scores of 560 to 580 and he still got a card. Now in 1 month his scores jumped up to 640 and 660. I don't understand. I am tired of applying and getting a hard inquiry. He took my fortune when he left but we are legally married and file joint tax returns.
I am being discriminated against because I am a woman of a certain age collecting Social Security but get more than 1,000 a month from my husband. If he could signed for my card that makes our credit connected like a joint bank account. Please advise

This website cannot provide legal advice.  You will need to contact a lawyer in your area who is qualified to assist you.  There was mention of potential derogatory items on your credit report.  If they are serious with undetermined timeframe that might be the reason.  Again, find a lawyer that can help you.

I tried to login main mobile website and it said couldn't login and said will send to email address but it showed an email I deleted a longtime ago. It provided a number 877-383-4802. I called and asked for name, dob, social, then every time I told my new email, they would tell me to say it again. So I hung up and called the number on back of card and told me they wouldn't ask for complete info because they have the info in front of them. I think they have a person secretly scamming ppl to steal their identity and they just haven't been caught yet. So basically you are now a victim of identity theft.

Received a check in the mail from Capital One. No idea why I would be receiving this check, so I googled Capital One for a phone number and this is the number i got. When I called the number to find out about the check, woman on the line wanted my social security #. I then said can't you check by using the information on the check itself.  (reference #, account # etc.)  She said she needed my social. Hang up!!!!!!

Every one I know is in my phone book. So any time I get an 877 I answer this way. "Police department Sgt Friday speaking how may I help you? CLICK..... Works every time.

I didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message.  The phone's ID said ;  Unknown Number.
This number is on Capital One's website and is listed as General Customer Service: 1-877-383-4802
Our mortgage in with them, but they have not called us in years!   I did contact them and they said the call could be an automatic system call.  They said if you get a call and want to verify that they are legit, ask for their employer ID#, then call 1-800-955-7070 to CC Customer Care to check them out.  Apparently, scammers can use a phone number that is listed as being someone else's number!  Never give out your personal information like SSN  over the phone. Capital One will never ask for personal information.  Most people reading this know that already, but some people are just gullible and will fall for a scam and trust them.

Sorry, the phone # IS legit.  The question is whether it was Capital One who called from it.
