supposedto be from CapitolOne???  wanted an email update.

called said it was t-mobile

Said it was Capital One. Sent an email too. Wanted personal information.

capital one says that is not their number. some one is trying to scam info.

I use Capitol One, that's their members credit card account number.

Received email update to what? As this number has been reported being used with 3 ongoing (suspected) scams, could you provide a little more information.

I always get an email saying that its capital one and that they've locked my credit card account, and that I was having trouble signing in to my account! Only problem is that I payed off all my debt and that account has been closed for over a year!

I got an email stating my Capital One online access had been locked.  I haven't had a Capital One account in years.  I called the 877-383-4802 number and verified that my accounts had been closed.  I then called the Capital One number listed on their website 888-464-0727, and was told that the 383-4802 number is a valid Capital One phone number.

I received the same email and called the same number.  I got suspicious after the rep asked for my full social, name, dob, and address and the phone call disconnected.  So I called the number listed on the Capital One website instead.  The rep only assumed it is a valid Capital One number because the called it and spoke with someone from Capital One.  They don't actually have a master list with this number on it.  My concern is that when the number is called, the scammer conferences the call to the real Capital One but remains on the line and just listens to get all the personal identity information.  I forwarded the email to abuse@capitalone.com.  That is the correct domain for their emails.  The email I received was sent from capitalone@email.capitalone.com.  That is not a real capital one email account.  I suggest you forward your email to abuse@capitalone.com

my account was hacked, password and email changed. i got a text alert from this #. i did call the fraud number listed on capital one's website and they did verify that 877-383-4802 was their fraud specialist department. i was paranoid about that number as well, since it is NOT listed on capital one's website anywhere.

Received an email supposedly from Capital One stating my account had been locked due to repeated access attempts.  It gave this number to call and gave steps to change my password.  A call to the customer service number listed on my account resulted in the rep telling me this is NOT a legit C1 number and to forward the email to abuse@capitalone.com.
capitalone@email.capitalone.com is not a legitimate C1 email address.

This number does indeed show up on the Capitol One website.

asked me to upload my ssn card scanned and images of front and back of id card which i didnt.

I do get calls from this number as well as other scam numbers that I am just now learning of. I never answer calls that I am not familiar with the area code.
