scammer spoofing capital one.  Got redirect to black hole because was a spoof by scammer.

called 8773834802 and thought it was Capital one and gave them my Social Security number, i am dying inside and dont know what to do. The number was on the wiki page, thought it was legit.

I don't understand how people simply don't go to the actual website or simply look on the back of their credit card for the number.  Now you will have to go to the FTC website on Identity theft and follow those instructions.

This is a scam - they answer as if they are capital one - it is NOT a valid number - nor is 1-877-514-2265.  only call 1-800-227-4825

if this is indeed capital one, well, i don't have anything to do with capital one; so, obviously, this is a scam for me.

This is a scammer claiming to be Capital One fraud detection. They will “troubleshoot” your account and rob your information. They proceeded to Zelle all my funds to a Varonic Valcin at 561-907-0371.

This is Capital One, BUT, I just got a call from it, and it was definitely spoofed. Ask to verify and they'll hangup. Male, accented, caller claimed he was with Fraud at Capital One. Claimed that fraudulent activity was detected on one of my accounts and a debit card. Started a phishing routine with text messages coming from 10-dgit numbers, not like the 5 or 6 that routine today. Initially, the first call came from 877-383-4802 which is actually Capital One. Somehow, they spoofed it and then changed over to 4820. Remember, NEVER send password/PIN's in response to any request from ANYONE>

Trying to get into my Capital One account but I have a new phone number and can’t get into it

This is NOT a legit Capital One number.  If you get a call from this number call Capital One Customer Protection Department at 866-464-7761 to report it.  I got a call from this number last Thursday.  They were said my accounts had suspicious activity and they were trying to get me to go to a branch and withdraw $23k and redeposit to a new account they were supposedly going to to set up for me!  Heck No!!  Got another call this morning from the same number and did not answer.
