caller from triple v 929-238-1562 called to lower interest rate told them i did not have credit card for them.. Then i fix your window errors... I told them i have an apple and it was tasty

ID read unavailable.  It is the same recording as yesterday about lower credit card interest.  It was a different number.  This is spam/scam/fraud.  I will report this to the do not call complaint web site.

This is the correct phone number for capital one when you are locked out of account. Just called and verified it with capital one number on the back of my card as I was locked out of my App on my iPhone.

However, as phone numbers are easily spoofed, better to not give the caller any information but instead hang up and call the number on the back of your card or on your statement.

This is a bona fide Capital On number. I have called it to get information on my credit card. Their number is on the back of credit cards listed as "customer service".  I have had no problems with this number.

With all due respect, your advice is not the safe way to handle these calls.
The problem is not the number.  The problem is criminals can spoof - Fake - the number you see in your caller ID.  You think you are talking to Cap One, but you may be connected to a scammer or someone who wants to steal your ID.  This is a very popular crime this time of year.

I would have to question why you are here.  You state that this is a "bona fide Capital On number".  You also state "Their number is on the back of credit cards listed as customer service".  So, there was nothing new you could have learned about this number.  Not one single thing.  Yet you took the time to look it up on the internet?  Why?  What you have done is something that would be expected of one of the scammers calling from this number that wants to make sure that people think this really is Capital One.

Perhaps call the number on your card or ststement, not this one. You'll most likely get someone doing that.

called this number to activate a new card. Woman answers saying that their menu has changed, then proceeds to ask personal questions such as how many people over 50 live at my home. . NOTHING TO DO WITH CAPITAL ONE ISSUES. Obviously a well organized scam issue.

This number is from a collection agency pretending to be Capital One..google the number..

I got the same email.  Called them up and went off on them.  I told them I don't have an account with you people.   The [***] hung up on me.
