This number has called multiple times, at all hours.  No message ever left.  Can this be blocked?

I received a call from this number today 11/3/11. They only got my voicemail number. I called the number to find out who was calling me. The woman said it was ER Solutions. I asked her what it was about and after confirming the phone number she had called, she told me which store credit card it was about. This bill is about 8 years old and in Florida it is way past the statute of limitations of 5 years. I had already hung up on her, but am anxiously awaiting another call.

I have been getting calls from this idiotic company too...never have answered their calls.  I downloaded "Mr. Number"...and it blocks them.  I don't know how they got my cell number, but they show up as "Spam". Just block their calls!!!!

They call my cell number at least twice a day. I never answer. If I do not recongize the number, than I don't bother answering. Less stress for me.

Whether or not you are correct does not merit on this matter. The point is that there should be a law for 3rd party companies selling a list of consumers cell phone numbers. If you tell them to remove the number off of their list these collection agents or telemarketers need to respect that and obey the law. I recently got my number and whomever owned it may have owed this debt I have repeatedly ask them to stop calling my number and remove it from their list as I pay monthly to have my cell phone and they have continued to call. These companies are rude and yell and disregard anything that is being told to them and tell me I am a liar and need to pay this debt or I will be sued. When ask for their supervisor they hang up so where do you draw the line.

ER Solutions called me today-though not about a debt.  They said that I just applied for and was approved for a new credit card and I had to verify my address and last 4 of my social.  I refused so they said they could not talk to me any longer and hung up on me.  I have no bad debt and am very concerned at this point about identity theft.

I am an attorney and the statute of limitations does bar the enforcment of the debt, but the debt is still there. What that means is you still owe the money but they can not take you to court to get it out of you UNLESS you revalidate the debt by acknowledging you owe the money which resets the SOL. If you want them to stop calling use the FDCPA to shut them down. It only takes one letter.

I got a call from these people and the first slurred his speech so bad I couldn't understand him, he said his name but refused to state what company he we from. He asked for a person by their first and last name which I stated I wasn't him, I asked where he received my phone number and then he hung up.  I called back again and got another person who asked for the same person by first and last name.  Again, I stated I wasn't him and asked where he got my number, his response was "this is America, I can get what ever I want when I want it!"  I politely asked that he not call me again because I have no knowledge who they are or who the guy is that they want, he rudely hung up.  This time I called back and hooked up my phone to a recorder and asked that they not call back again because they're harassing me and he responded "you called us, you're harassing us", I mentioned the only reason I called back was to make sure I got this on a recording and if they would quit hanging up on me, then I wouldn't call back.

I received multiple calls from 877-495-0400. Finally called back and had a rude representative tell me I owed a debt from 2001. RI statue of limitations has expired on this, even if it was true. However, it is not. When I informed him, he became rude and stated he was going to notate the file that I was unwiling to voluntarily resolve the debt. IT"S NOT MINE. He stated I need to fill out a police report. No thank you and good luck w/ the collection. I informed him to notate my file as a do not call and that any future calls would be deemed harassment.  Told him about this page (without giving him the web address) and LOL did that throw him for a loop...4 pages of complaints..he didn't know what to say.

I just got a call from them.  Have no idea how they know my name and my cell number.  My cell number is not in my name.  Thus they must be buying records from other credit card companies or someone who has my name and cell together.  It cannot be from phone records.  They call and put the recipient caller on hold and then he asked for my social security number.  He said they had one of my accounts from MBNA.  I said I'm not giving my social. He said there was not way for me to know if this was my account unless I did.  I said give me the account number and I'll research it myself.  He said no, I could just say yes to it.  I said, you could do the same..he hung up on me promising to call back.  How do you stop these fraudulent calls?
    Thanks

This "scavenger" debt collector (they buy extremely old debts for pennies on the dollar) amazed me at how little they knew. I Googled my state statute of limitations and had it ready before I called them back. They do not answer w/ a business name once the computer voice asks you to hold. They claim ‘know’ the statutes, so I asked what mine was and the representative back-pedaled and stated he wasn’t ‘going to play this game with me [sic]’. So once he gave me the date of the debt, which wasn’t mine, I informed him it wasn’t mine and even if it was it exceeded RI state statutes. So he state that he was going to mark my case with a “refuses to voluntarily pay”. I said fine, it was a time-barred debt. So he hung up on me.

I checked my credit report for free. It’s not there. Good luck w/ that collection. FYI: don’t offer any information. They log everything.

This company is trying to collect on a debt from 1999 it is now almost 2012! The debt they are referring to has not been on my credit report for years now. I told them the only way they will get money from me is to sue me.
