Answered the phone, but put it on mute and on speaker. The lady on the other end said “hello? Hello? Is there anyone on the line? Hello?” And then she said something else that was not clear and hung up. I always do this when random numbers call: pick up, mute and speaker. They always hang up after 30 seconds.

They handle debt collection for DMV collections.  I called back and spoke to a human.  Very polite and helpful.  They are a legit debt collector.  I owe the DMV money and told them i'd make payments through the web portal they have.  Gal was not pushy or rude at all.  Actually she was very helpful.

Repeated calls to my cell number. I called today and asked the purpose of their calls. They asked for my name, which I refused to give, saying instead I could give my number and they could tell ME who they are attempting to contact. The woman I spoke with didn't seem to like that, saying they can't tell if it's a wrong number, without my name. I replied that yes you can, if I give you my number, which you obviously have to call for somebody, and tell me that person's name. She replied they were looking for a man, with that name and they would removed my number. They don't even know my name, claimed not to anyway, so why ask me for it? That makes no sense.

Keeps trying to call a couple times a week, blocked call, never leaves a message! Its a scam!

Received text messages from Alliance One stating that I would receive text messages from them regarding my account.  I don't have an account with them.

It's a debt collector, so nobody has an account with one until they create one because they bought an old debt. Think about  it, would you create an account with a random debt collection company in anticipation of a future debt that may or may not be with that company?
