Repeated phone calls with annoying messages on my voicemail stating it is a collection agency. It states a name and ask if I am that person and if not to hang up (and sorry for the inconvience).  I have attempted to call the number back but I get a message that the party cannot be reached using that number!  Just ridiculous!

Let me clarify that it is a Debt Collection Agency (Caller ID only shows phone no.)

We've been getting calls from them as well. I decided to stay on the line (after being on hold for several minutes) to tell them that the person they're trying to find does not live here, and has not had this number since we've had it (almost 4 years now!)

When I asked them to remove my number, they pulled up a completely DIFFERENT phone number, and then ARGUED with me, saying "That's what my caller ID says!"

Hopefully the number they removed will get them to quit calling us...even though it isn't our number.

do not call my business phone #,  it is private.  You have to have a non-disclosure agreement to speak with us in the first place as there is sensitive materials/docs/info in our type of work.  It is a secured area, so are our phones suppose to be?  Please do not call.

I just dealt with these people to take care of a ticket my son got and did not pay last year.  Orange County Florida uses them to collect on traffic tickets.  So while the calls may not all be to the correct people, they are a legitimate collection agency.

They are not just for traffic tickets because I don't have any tickets. I DO however have credit cards that just got charged off as bad debt from Wells Fargo and Bank of America. I guess they sent me to third party collections and this is one calling. All she said was she was from Alliance one and needed to speak with "me". I wouldn't tell her my name unless she told me what this was regarding and she wouldn't tell me (so we kept going back and forth) so I told her I didn't have time to play phone games with her and hung up.

It's Alliance One.  If you owe money to the courts, DMV...These are the people that get that money.  No biggie.  I just wish they wouldn't call you on a Saturday.  [***].

AllianceOne is back, folks, using a different Toll-Free number (8772132900). Called this number back with spoofed CID (no sense in giving away my real number yet). The guy who answered refused to give me the company name. I identified myself as from (my private company name, a real name) and was calling on behalf of "my client" who had received calls from this number and wanted to know who this company was and why they would be calling my client. The guy who answered literally tried EVERY trick in the book to get me to divulge my name, my "client's" name, my real phone number, the phone number they'd called. He even tried to get me to give him my name a second time. I never once budged from my question: "What is the name of your company?" Every time he'd try to pry info out of him, I'd come back with some variation on, "I believe I asked you a question first, and I'd like it answered before I give you any identifying information about my client. What is your company's name?" At one point, I rephrased the question very simply: "Look, I've now asked this question FIVE times. What is your company's name?  This is a REALLY straight-forward question." When he attempted to dodge it again, I got VERY direct. "Look, just tell me the name of your company. I'm beginning to wonder if you're a legitmate company or if you're attempting some kind of scam here because you won't answer a question ANY legitimate firm would gladly answer." When he tried ONE MORE TIME to get my real name ("Now, who did you say you were and where you were calling from?") I said, "Look--I gave you that information in the first five seconds of this call.  You have yet to give me the same information I gave you in the first five seconds of this call.  WHAT IS YOUR COMPANY'S NAME?" He finally said, "My company's name is Alliance One."  "Thank you. Now, what is it exactly that you do? Are you a debt collector?" He hemmed and hawed, then finally said, "Yes. We're a collections company."  'Thank you. I'll pass this along to my client and let them decide if they want to return your call or not."

If this truly is "Alliance One", they have a VERY bad reputation, as http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/alliance-one-c58342.html can attest.

So, Buyer Beware, Do your Due Diligence, etc.

Numerous computer generated calls that were driving me nuts stating that they were a collection agency. When I call the number to have my name removed, the message thanked me for calling about a bonus card, and to press any key on my phone to be connected to an operator. When I did, I was connected to a man who asked how he could help me. I asked him what company I had called. He answered directory assistance. Who was I trying to reach.

Confused I asked again what company I was calling, he replied, information. He asked again who was I trying to call. I said information as in ATT, he said yes. Really confused,  I told him the story about calling the debt collector. He asked me if I shopped at Wall-mart or Target. I now realized this was a scam call, and delved a little further. He told me I had won a Target gift card and just needed to verify my address so my $40 gift card would be mailed to the proper place. I gave my office address and phone number.  He then told my all I had to do to get my $50 gift card was to pay $3.95 shipping and handling. I told him it was a scam, that I was going to report the company, and hung up.

I immediately called ATT, who referred my to the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC said this is a scam to get your credit card number. I hung up before they asked my for my credit card number. So beware! Nothing is free!

They have gone back to their original number apparently -- and interestingly enough, caller ID shows up as "CA State."  As they called one of my phone numbers that does not have answering machine and has ringer turned off (used only for outbound calls), not sure who they were trying to reach, but had I been paying attention, a CID of "CA State" potentially could capture attention.

Was entertaining to me when I saw it as I live nowhere near CA nor have any sort of business in that area until I thought about it.  Appears to me like a deliberate deceptive practice intended to dupe folks who may not realize that a state agency would never have a CID that reads like that.

Got the phone call too, only not for me.  Called them back to see what they wanted and it was collections.  They wanted a relative of mine to call them back and when I said I would check them out before I do that, they became quite irritated.  I had to stay on "hold" over 5 minutes before I got what I think was a human voice.  We'll see if they call back.  I'm not sure I will call the person and tell them about this just yet.

I'm getting these calls several times a day.  When I answered I received dead air and then the recording says thanks for calling AT&T.  I waited several minutes and finally this guy came on and I told him that I am sick and tired of these calls several times a day and that these calls are taking me away from my work and that my boss told them to quit calling.  I was very rude to him and he said I'll put you on my do not call list.

I said I am on the national do not call list and stop calling.

They called my cell phone and when I tried to call them back to see who they were, I tried to block my number but they could read it anyway!!!  I'm not happy that they were able to see my phone number when I was trying to keep my privacy.  Fortunately they were looking for a Sergio somebody and I have his old number.  I wonder if the deadbeat changed his number again...

    Confused
I got a call from this number this morning. They called once but I didn't pick up. They called back 10 minutes later and I picked up. It was "angie" "calling on behalf of the san diego superior court" she asked for my husband. She gave me a different number "858.712.6682" for him to call her back at. It very much could be alliance one needing to get money from my husband for san diego but she didn't say anything about that.

These colossal [***] call my cell phone number. It costs me MONEY every time they call. For some reason they think I'm Jabar Banks. Every 2 years or so the calls start again. I change my numbers, use a different service and these annoying calls STILL keep coming.

Idk what this person is calling but they never left me a message. They had called me every 5 to 10 mins back to back. from 5pm to 10pm! i was literally annoyed. I picked up by accident and it was a female that answered and it was super loud in the back ground and she and another person in the background was laughing... If this is a legit call i say that was very unprofessional! and she never called back after.

When I pick up it says "thank you for calling us please hold" even though I did not call them they called me, and they leave you listening to music for over 15 minutes.
