- Marcia Bennett replies to Countrygal67Your situation is the exact scenerio I have experienced. Cancelled my card today 7-30-10 and filed a fraud complaint with them, BUT They will not credit back the $149.95 until they contact the bank who the "vendor" is using. SCARRY!
I also cancelled on line and confirmed with a phone call. Then the Charge shows up and I am getting all these Email's claiming more income opportunities. We all have been scammed and again why would the credit card companies not stop this. I am ready to get rid of all my credit cards!!!! - jonThere are, obviously, several companies pulling this scam. Another one is called The Direct Commerce Academy. You pay $3 initially and then you have 5 days to cancel. This is all in the very fine print AFTER you pay your $3. I called them to cancel and they promised to credit my account half of the $149. Time will tell if they do it or not. They were very friendly.
- Sue C. replies to brad vaughnI had the same thing happen to me on June 15th. I thought I canceled but the charge was on my credit
card.. I have tried calling but it makes you think your on hold but then it goes to a busy signal. - J Gardner replies to Kthleen WiseKthlee Wise, I got a call from my banks credit card fraud department this morning asking me about a withdrawal a company was trying to take out of my account. the company was called The Direct Commerce Academy, and it sounds like the same story i have read in all these postings. Lucky my bank refuse to let them get any money and the also cancelled my card and will be issuing a new one. My bank gave me a phone number to call for this so called company, so i gave them a call, i asked the guy that answered the phone the name of the company, he relied that he represented several companys and asked my name and phone number. He told me that my $139.00 withdrawal was not honored and there would be no more charges. I asked him how they got my permission to try and take the money to start with, he stated it was in the agreement. Of course i did go off on him and asked where my free info was that i paid $2.98 for shipping and handling was. He didn't have a answer. Wished the rest of u alot of luck recuping ur money. If u want to use the number i have to call it was 1-877-304-1469

- AnitaOmg thanks guys. This really helped me call and cancel as well. I also signed up on the internet for $2.97 and was skeptical about the whole thing so canceled 2 -3 days later. I'm afraid they'll charge my account again. My bank told me to call tommorow to dispute the charge because it hasn't went through today. I can't believe I gave all my personal info to these scammers. I feel so stupid. Damn The Direct Commerce Academy. The contact number they gave me was (877)875-6080 and found this article
http://www.channel6reports.com/finance/?n=205&k=Broadcast. I also reported them to the Federal Trade Commission http://www.ftc.gov - Annette oglevee replies to Tara/Alberto| 2 repliesI just talked with Kevin James with a very strong european accent who told me that they wouldn't charge me nothing but $1.99 and then he wanted another amount for a free $100 gas card and other companies. I told him that I needed to check out the company before I committed to anything. For one thing he was international, he couldn't answer my question how to make money and 3rd the price went up with no guarantee that they wouldn't charge more. If anyone is making money I would be surprised. I guess the next scam of the century has arrived when Americans need every penny until we are back to work.

- Tasha replies to timothy or kim FlockSo I am really new to this scam! I just opened up my bank account online and saw this charge of 39.99+tax. The name and number for the charge is (DCAINTER 877 304 1469 BELIZE CITY BZ). Does anyone know any further info? I called the number and the name of the company is Direct Commerce Academy. They told me I signed up on 3/1/10, and yet they charge me over 5 months later? This is straight BS! They gave me another # 800 841 6436 that states they are not open until 7am PST, however, after that time the line is busy consistantly. I had to call my bank and file my card stolen, pay for a replacement, pull out all my funds and pay ATM fees, and then I have to wait 7/10 business days for another card!!! How dang inconvenient is this?!?!?!?!?!? Can anyone help me nail these scam artists to a wall. I am contacting the BBB and my local government for help today.

- norm replies to Countrygal67| 5 repliesThese people are scammers using different names and phone numbers. They are also using Direct Commerce Academy. You need to notify FBI. This company is located in Belize City, Belize. You will never get your money back that number 1 877 304 1469 is out of Utah if you find an address for them please let me know nmorris45@comcast.net. Call this number and report them to the FBI. The number is 1-973-792-3000. They will tell you where to call in your area. They will send you to an online site to file your complaint. Make sure you give them all the info you have. One of their locations is DCAINTER 8, DCAINTER 87 Belize City, Belize. That address belongs to a house. I am not able to get an address for the phone number in Utah but if you can please tell me because I will take and file criminal charges against them. They took money from my account without authorization. Get rid of your card immediately so they can't take more money from your account and they will. They are taking advantage of people who are out of work like me and you. Also report them to Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau.
