- Robn, Katy Texas replies to Julie| 8 repliesJulie,
I almost made the same mistake with this company. I signed up yesterday, paid my $2.97, which has already hit my bank account, and believed them when they said my website was in the process of being designed. The message said to give it 10 minutes while the design team went to work. Yet 24 hrs later, I am still not able to use my website because they are adding products and I should check back within a few days. I decided to ask my husband to sit with me in case I ran into something I didn't know how to do. At this point I was convinced that I was really getting a website! When I got the message about checking back in a few days, he advised me to call customer service. I spoke to Joenna Santos in Utah. When she could not help, she advised me to call the support hotline. They are only available M-F 8-5 Mountain time. I called Joehha back and asked for her supervisor. Imagine my surprise when Evan was not available. Ok, now I am getting pissed. So I google Direct Commerce Academy and find that this is pretty much like all of the other scams. I hope you read the terms & Conditions, because I did not. One of the comments on the Q&A about DCA mentioned that if you don't read the T&C that you will not know about the activation charge of $139.95. So I immediately went back to their website and read them. IR YOU DO NOT CANCEL YOUR SERVICES WITHIN THE 5 DAYS TRIAL PERIOD, YOU AUTHORIZE DCA TO DEDUCT FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT THE ONE TIME CHARGE OF $139.95 FOR ACTIVATION AND $39.95 EACH AND EVERY MONTH AFTER AS A SERVICE CHARGE. I called Joehha back and cancelled my services today. She told me that I would be receiving an email within 24 hrs of the confirmation of my cancellation. I hope you were able to get your money back. - robin, katy texas replies to norm| 3 repliesNorm, Here are the phone number I was give by DCA:
877-875-6080 for customer service
866-923-2681 customer support hotline
I have spoken to Joehha Santos and someone named Angel. I was told of s supervisor named Evan, which was not available when I called.
I have canceled my services because I was within my first 5 day trial period. I am supposed to receive an email confirmation of the cancellation request within 24 hrs. I will let you know if I get one tomorrow.
Is there really any home based business that is legit? I wonder! - robin, katy texas replies to Bobelearning is a children's book subscription company. I saw an advertisment on TV for these books and I ordered them for my grandchildren. Later I found out that I am being charged $49.95 each month after I already purchased them! I sent them back and did get a refund, but the stupid people sent me the books again, FREE!
We are not dealing with very intelligent folks here - norm replies to robin, katy texasi did talk to somebody there and they said they would give me back 100.00 dollars but i dont think its going to happin. the way its worded there just taking advantage of people who are out of work. there is no work on line thats legal and these people are just scaming everyone all lies. ill let you know if i get the refund. my bank told me they have done this to hundreds of people so im not holding my breath on this one.
- norm replies to Robn, Katy Texas| 1 replyso far nothing i have turned it over to the FBI for investigation as to the way it is worded and it is a scam
as far as i know untill they tell me different.a lot of people have lost money with this scam. there home address is in belieze city belieze so good luck with this one.i was just trying to find some work of any kind . my fault for not checking it out. better get a new bank card and close your account. - Donna replies to Julie| 1 replyPlease call 1-800-422-1949 and cancel your service. I know you didn't subcribe but you will be able to cancel there. They got me too. I did subcribe but canceled the next day. They are saying I didn't cancel at all so they charged me $139.95, seven days later. When I called and demanded my money back for there mistake I was told that it was company polisiy that they could only return half the money. Nice racket right. I'm on my way to the better Business Beurua now. You should be able to get some of your money back or at least stop it. Sorry you got cought like me.
Donna - TAMMY replies to Julie| 2 repliesTHIS SCAM HAPPENED TO ME TOO. I am a person that writes every thing down so when I called the customer service number they tell me that I am not in the system and I called the wrong number. So I called my credit card company and they told me that not one charge was made but 2 and they were holding it thank god. So when I call the DCA direct commerce academy back they GIVE you all this different numbers and when you call the other numbers they don't know who you are and they say they are DIFFERENT COMPANY from DCA and these other companies work with them and charge your card not once but many times and when you call the number on your credit statement they say no we charge $2.97 and not so and they keep on charging my card it is on hold and having to get a new one but I CALLED THE FBI AT 1-973-792-3000 AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO THE SECRET SERVICES AT 1-973-971-3100 SO EVERY ONE THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN TO CONTACT THEM BECAUSE THE MORE THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN TO THEY MIGHT DO SOME THING.AND IF YOUR CARD IS A GOVERNMENT CARD THEY SEEM LIKE THEY ARE THE ONES TO HELP YOU
- JamesI thought something was funny about this DCA and after I googled this and read all these comments I went straight to my phone and cancelled my CC. They told me that I would not lose anything since I cancelled the same day. So thank you everyone for posting your comments.
- karenDirect Commerce Academy billed my account $149.99 then again for 99.98. When I called the number in Belize they told me my refund had been processed for the $149.99 however that has been over ten days. $99.98 showed up on my account two days ago. When I called about the most recent charge they said another company had made the charge to my account. I have already filed a dispute against them with my b ank. I am going to try to block further charges on that account. Probably is going to be an inconvenience because I have automatic withdrawals coming from legitimate companies that I will have to contact. All of their unauthorized withdrawals have really set me back financialy because of overdraft charges for other purchases i made when I thought I had the money in my account. You are right to report them to the authorities. I would really like my money refunded. Somehow I doubt that is going to happen. But I am not going to stop calling them anyway. Even though I can not stand to speak to some of their csrs. They deserve to be harassed.

- norm replies to robin, katy texas| 1 replystill havent seen any money yet and i called them again after telling me money would be back in my account in 2 to 5 days and now its 7 t0 10 days . again he said the company is legitimate and there not going anywhere. just mabey i would have tried it if they were not so sneaky the way they took money from my account without my approval. im still not going to hold my breath on this one. they got so many phone numbers im still not sure but i will let everyone know how it turns out.
- norm replies to Robn, Katy Texas| 1 replyI want to tell you that they put 100.00 back in my account. Do I feel like I've been scammed? Yes because I never got anything from them, not even an email. After a phone call to their office number, the person told me they were a legitimate company and they were not going anywhere. I still feel scammed as I never got anything from this company, no email, no phone call, no nothing and lost 40.00.
I feel lucky that I got back a 100.00 dollars. So good luck to you all and thanks for writing back to me. I have learned the hard way and never will I give my credit card to anyone on line again. - NORM replies to TAMMY| 1 replyHere is a direct number that might help you. You have to threaten to take them to court. This is the number my bank gave me and it has worked every time I called 1-877-304-1469. Don't take no for an answer. Just tell them you are going to take them to court. That telephone number is in Utah and they snatch your money from a bank in Belize City, Belize. The whole operation is from a home in Belize. This number is to DCA or same Direct Commerce Academy. I never could get there address in Utah sorry.
- RogerIt is running under many different names and also posts fake Pictures and comments about making money.
There are several flavors of websites and phone numbers used. They keep changing the web sites names (News channles, Money and Debts realted themes)
I used to think really smart until I got trapped into this.
Beware of any too good to be and too easy to be true OFFERS.
I learned a big lesson of life and i woudl cancel my cards as well to get rid of this SCAM mafia.
BEWARE - Marcey HaltermanI had signed for a $2.97 "trial period" for a work at home company and the next day was charged 139.99' The call I received from this number was from a "counselor" to help me "realize my riches'" I told him to not call again and that I wanted my money put back in my account. He directed me to call customer service who then proceded to hang up on me. I called again and could hardly understand the man I spoke to, and was slso told "the supervisor is on another call". I was told they could refund $70.00, but I had signe the "agreement" and they could continue to take the money. I advised them I would contact an attorney, the Fed3ral Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

- cookieThis has just happened to me, I called my bank to tell them and they want me to fill out a form i told them to put a stop on the account so no other charges can be made i cancelled this two hours after i made the intial $2.97 cents charge. They called me back from 801-662-0756 utah i advised the caller that i am not happy with what i have read online about their company so therefor cancell me. He said he would however i am still going to file the dispute form with the bank just in case. When something sounds to good to be true it usually is. oops, always is. Rule of thumb.
- MAD| 1 replyI have never ordered anything and I wasn't charged...here is what these people did do....they got into my email account, sent emails to everyone in my contact list, including myself and even sent it to my phone number via text msg as well as other phone numbers that were in the contact list. I called and got the same run around from some WhoooRe named EMM who didn't know who she worked for other than DCA and had no phone number for them, no address, no supervisor, and no idea.....She kept saying she had limited information and changed the subject each time I told her that I wasn't worried about their spam to my email, I was pissed off that they got into my email account, have my password, and sent emails to all my contacts trying to get my contacts to sign up to their crappy company...worst of all, it was mailed FROM my email account so it looks as if I sent it. THese people are pathetic. If anyone finds the home address to this company I hope you post it on the web...I have a nice smelly gift I'd like to send to them...some jerk is in another country right now spending everyone's hard earned money as we speak....what a crock of poo this company is.
