ACS group, they are a lawyers office, they wanted to serve me an appointment to go to court, they will go to my home or my office, called back, they said that Ms Davis is a 3rd party, doesn't work there, they don't want to give any information until I give my address, last 4 digist of social etc. I hanged up the phone. they are a scam

ACS group has been calling me, leaving messages with all my family, they want to serve me to go to court, they don't explain anything, if I asked, they want my information first, they said that is for a bad check, I didn't know that we go to court for bad checks, is another office who handle this matter, I am looking forward to received more information.

I just got a call from Robert Diaz - he  says he is a process server and wants to serve me regarding some
bad checks (checks?). They said I can call the plantiff at this number. I thought you couldn't use the
criminal process. Then they won't give you any info until you give them yours. Well we will see.

Don'r give them any info.  Do you have old payday loans.  I got a call similiar call and was reading on the internet.  Ask this company for their business license number so you can verify they are a legit company,  They won't do it.  I said call me back when you have it. They said they will have to get from a supervisor (which I was talking to)   Never heard from them again.

They can not do anything to you criminally for bad checks.  Only small claims.  I told them I would wait for small claims since they could not provide me with any info in writing.  Always ask for something in writing they will refuse because you don't owe anything.

Got the same call, called this number and spoke with a John. Claim I wrote a bad check and have a court summons.  Represent themselves as a law firm however they are a 3rd party collection company.

Got a call from a lady who said she was going to serve me court papers on a bad check charge.  Was told to call this number for more info so I did.  They told me that I owed $400+ for a bad check and that I could settle out of court if paid today.  I asked for more info and was not given any so I stated that I would get back to them tomorrow.  If any one has any info on this company please reply.  I did find out that they are not a Law Firm but a Collection Company.

The fact that they are posing as a law firm should give you pause. They left a msg. claiming that I wrote a bad check and claimed that they have tried to reach me(they have not) and was going to file papers in court. I'm debating whether to respond to them, I prob won't after reading the enteries here.

This is one of many scams out there right now. If you ask them what company they are collecting for, they will hesitate and make up a company name for a payday loan company and a fake amount hoping that you are not smart enough to know who you owe what to. They hope to scare people that don't know better into thinking that the FBI or police are going to show up and arrest them. I've had these scam calls before. If you start asking for information that a real debt collector would have and be willing to provide, they get mad and they don't want to talk anymore once they know they can't trick you into giving them money over the phone. Don't fall for it. Keep track of who you owe and only deal with them or a collector that you can verify is indeed collecting a debt for a creditor that you indeed owe a debt. Hopefully, you don't owe anyone, but if you do, keep track of it and don't give your money to crooks. The legitimate debt collectors should be just as angry with these scam artists because these crooks are taking payments that should be made to real collectors by someone that is honestly trying to resolve their debts....that's awful.

I got a call at work and at my boyfriend's house from this guy claiming to be a process server named Mike Sandez from ACS Group. He said he wanted to meet me and after failed attempts at reaching me that he is going to come to my job and my home to serve me. He said this is because of a bad check. Good thing I don't write checks - EVER! I am amazed at the nerve these people have and am very glad I found this site.

I know this is a scam because i haven't written a check in almost 2 yrs. and have a handful of debts that I am currently paying ontime.  THEY WANTED ME TO CALL BACK WAS 877-464-8485.  I called the number back, but only got an answering machine that is unable to give you names for the extentions.  I am being very cautious and so should you!

the same company told me that if i didnt pay and went to court, i would be incarcerated because it is a felony to write a bad check!

I have received the same calls from Ms. Taylor.  Phone number 877-451-9975.  Anyway, she said she is headed to my work now to serve me.  I told her I would be waiting...  Same story. I wrote a bad check and they're taking me to court.  They called my supervisor, my HR Manager, Mom, Dad any one they can or have access to.  Has anyone ever been served??

They called me and told me that I was being served and to consider their voicemail a warning. I called them to find out that I was going to be arrested when I went to court because in my state it is illegal to write bad checks. They told me that if I were to pay right away that they would file a release form with the courts. The thing is in my state all court cases are available online. There was no case filed against me. I told them when I was on the phone there was no case filed against me and when they have proven my debt to contact me, otherwise, consider themselves warned. I also contacted the FTC and the FCRA.

This company is a scam.  The told the first time i spoke with them that they wanted $412.  I had another person call back and give the same information, then they asked for $510.  Once they said it was for a bad check and then they said that it was for an unpaid loan.  I received the call erroneously at work -- they left a message on my vm but it was for a coworker.  We did the research together and it is very sketchy.  We will be reporting to the attorney general.

877-465-8898, # left on answering machine from Jessica Mendoza. The whole u will be served and good luck deal for writing a fraudulent check. Was her second time calling. So I called the# and talked with a woman. Gave her the case# that Mendoza gave me. I told her they must have me mistaken. She asked for last four of social. I hesitated and then dumbly gave her the last four. She asked if I ever lived in Washington. I told her nope. She then related that they had the wrong person and that my name would be taken off the list. I'm still paranoid. I only gave last four of social. She said ACS is based in Arizona. And that was the end. Is she trying to steal identity???? Anyone have similar deal???? Thx
