I have done a lot of research after these scumbag scammers left a message at my mother's house yesterday. The message was from Brian Anderson at ACS, he said I was in breach of contract and being charged with fraud. He stated that if he didn't get a hold of me in 2 hours the police would be at my home to arrest me. Whatever, they really think people are dumb. So, I called them back yesterday at the at the number that was on my mother's caller ID 360-695-9184, disconnected. I called the 877-882-5684 that they left on the message. A woman answered, wanted my social I refused. I did confirm the last 4 digits, which I shouldn't have (they say they can't discuss if you don't verify). She stated I was being charged with defrauding a financial institution in 2008. I argued that I would have received something if this were the case and told her she is [***]. She said that will happen. She said "You can take care of this by paying me $600 now or deal with the judge". She asked for a debit card number. I got so pissed off, I started yelling. She told me to cut the attitude and to shut up. She said I would go to jail, I told her to go for it and I will wait until I receive something. As I researched this I found so many people that have been harassed by these idiots. Usually the same story (defrauded a bank, check fraud, unpaid payday loans, unpaid debts). The unpaid debts may or may not be true, but these people certainly have nothing to do with it. These stupid scum have hacked into something or purchased information on many people. They have names, DOB, SSN, drivers license numbers, names/phone numbers of relatives, etc. So, I called back today, Courtney answered. I asked for their website address, she said "That's private information, do you have a case number?". I told her no, she said they can't give any information about the company without a case number. I told her they are a fraud/scam and are being investigated, she hung up. I called back again, I immediately went to hold. I hung up and called back, again Courtney. I said "Are you the only one working there Courtney?". She said no and told me not to call again. I talked over her (she was trying to threaten me) and told her they are fraud and will be investigated, again hung up. Called back again and Antonio answered. I said "What is your website address Antonio?". He said "We don't have one yet". Bear in mind these people have been at this scam for 3 - 4 years, and no website? I went off on him that they are scammers and have been reported to the police, he hung up. So basically, these jerks think they can scare people until we start fighting back and telling them what we will do if they continue. They don't like being asked questions about their company, they can't give any information or provide documents about the so called bad debt owed. They tend to change their MO..this time it's about payday loans or debts. About a year ago they were calling people telling them they were in a criminal suite and had a restraining order issued on them. A couple years ago they called my sister in law and told her I was involved in a car accident, hit and run and being sued. This needs to stop. If they call, question them about their company. Record the conversations if you can and tell them they are being recorded. Tell them you are reporting them to the FTC, BBB, police, attorney general, FBI...and do it. The more complaints, the better chance we have of catching these morons. Here is some information that may help you:

* They call from various 877, 866, 800 numbers and U.S numbers in various states. Sometimes the number will come in as 000-000-0000.
* They may or may not have a middle eastern accent. They recently caught on that people weren't buying that someone named John Smith has a middle eastern accent, so they do have American accented people doing this now.
* They will use phrases such as: Breach of contract, fraud, defrauding a financial institution, Internet fraud, payday loan fraud, etc.
* They will threaten that you will receive one or all of the following: court summons, failure to appear, email from the company, etc.
* They will threaten you with: jail time, losing your job, notifying your employer/family or both, coming to your house at night, physically hurting you and I have even found threads where the male callers have threatened females with coming over to rape them.
* They use very common last names such as: Cooper, Anderson, Smith, Taylor, Logan, etc. Usually common first names too.
* They will not give you any information about the company. They will tell you it's private information or that their fax is broken, etc.
* They will tell you that you can only pay with a credit, debit or prepaid card. They will not accept any other form of payment.
* They will tell you that you are a loser, immature, cuss at you, call you stupid, call you horrible names, etc.

Whatever you do DO NOT GIVE THESE SCUMBAGS ANY INFORMATION. Do not verify any of your information. Tell them they are a scam and law enforcement is working on tracking them down. Tell them you are recording them. Call them back and question them. Be sure to protect your credit because they have most of your personal information. Put a fraud alert on your credit file with all three credit bureaus. Report them to as many agencies as you can. And if you have ANY helpful information to add to this that will help catch these fools, please add it to this site. I am furious and ready to take these people down.

I got a call the other day from a number that only displayed zeros 000-000-0000 I figured it was that ACS scammers. I read your post and realize I was right. I imagine that they have found out that I have acused them of being a fraud and that may be why they are calling. I am so ready for their next phone call. I have also imformed some of my friends and employer that these people are a scams and so let's see what they come up with.

I had someone who said they were a process server call me, and told me my husband was going to receive a court summons. I call the number that she gave me and spoke with a man who said his name was Ivan Carrol. I gave him the case number, and since it was under my husbands name, gave him my husbands information. He said we were going to receive a court summons for defrauding a financial institution for dufaulting on a payday loan. He had the date of the loan right, and the rest of our information. I spoke with him for a while, giving him entirely to much information. He said he could settle our 600some odd $ for $200. I told him I didnt have it today and he said let him go talk to his supervisors. He came back and said they would give me until Mon.(it was Thursday) and that he got in trouble for saying he would settle for so low, and that he had to go to a meeting about it. I told him I didnt have it and I would call him the next day. Then I read all this stuff so I called today and asked him to send me paperwork about it. He said he did to my old address. I told him I would pay but I had read some stuff so I needed to verify them. He said he felt like I had just spit in his face and that I would get a court summons. Then he hung up. He was very rude.

Also when I called back and asked them to send something they said they dont send emails because they are a green company. I have reported them.

I have received these calls for 2 years off and on.  They even called my employer and spoke very rudely to my boss.  This is a scam and i just want to stop the calls.  I told them to take me to court.  They threaten to pick me up at work and take to jail.  i told them to come on and do it.  I now just hang up but very annoying and embarrassing at work.

Acs has been calling and threatening me for about a year over a debt I don't owe when I ask for conformation of the debt they hang up  on me,well last night I lost it and left them 4 thretanig messages once I did it I felt better but now I'm afraid I maid a big mistake, I basically threatend the mans life and told him I would hunt him down,now truly I would never do such a thing but after puting up with this for a year and half I just went of, what is the worst that could come out of this?

I have periodically gotten these same calls from people looking for my sister.  Their stories are identical to the ones outlined above.  Today it was Lauren Green who works for "the State"...hmmmm...wonder which "state" that might be.  She said that leaving a voice mail on my phone constituted legally serving my sister and that she had two hours to respond or they would go to her work and her residence to arrest her.  (If they know so much about where to find her, why the hell are they bothering me!?!)  It's all a scam - just as many have said, but today's number is a new one.  Just one more for you to look out for: no number visible on the caller id, but the call back number is 1-888-243-0930

I have received a call like this twice now, the most recent was from 888--901-4887 telling me the same story. I googled this number on Whitepages and it came up as an invalid number and when I called it it was "not in service." Checking my credit reports helped because I don't even write checks :) and there is nothing on my report. The rude lady who called herself Amber King, gave the same threats as every one else got and told me I had 1 hour to contact the legal dept at 866-241-5022 or they would come to my residence and then work if I wasn't at home. I also googled this number and it also came up as "invalid" which tells me it is a scam.  Any legal company would have their business number posted.  There are way too many different numbers for this so-called company.  I called the "legal dept" long enough to get the name of this so-called company and will definitely let the BBB know and the Attorney General.

I believe they have now changed their number: it is 866-201-1416 ext.442 Katie Water, and also 888-216-8123, Jeremy Whitlock, Compliance Manager, ACS. A message was left on my phone from Agent Washington stating there was an investigation in his office which led to a formal complaint against me. This was in regards to a fraudulent check charge with an intent to defraud a financial institution. I needed to contact the plaintiff and refer to my case number. They stated they were a collection agency. Somehow or the other they found the number of an ex husband I had divorced 30 years ago and left the same message on his phone, then another person whom I met only two times in another State  whom they left a message on her phone as well.  These were only two that I know of; perhaps they phoned others, but I don't know .  The amount they want settled is $431.25.  They sent me an email that is called a VOD, (Validation of Debt), there was only a letterhead stating it was from ACS, but no address. email (customerservice@acsgroup.info)  I phoned and found their address to be P.O. Box 2123-82 Park Drive, Buffalo NY 14221.This was told to me by Perry O'Daniel, after quizzing me about my name, address and Social Security last 4 digits. How they found all of these other people's phone numbers beats me, I don't even have their numbers. But I do know these people they called and left messages on their answering machines informing them that I had commited fraud and wrote a fraudulent check with an intent to defraud a financial institution. They are supposed to be sending a summons for me to appear in court.  I told them to go ahead and send it.

I have dealt with these goofballs before. They harass me at home, at work, my family... so I decided to give it back to them. I call them and leave ridiculous messages on their answering machine. I cuss them out, sing Disney songs to them, and talk about vaginal yeast infections. They can't do [***] to you, because they are criminals. They are hiding in someone's basement sending you threatening phone calls. I called the proper authorites about this... don't be fooled by these criminals! tell them to eat penguin [***] and hang up on them!!!

Thanks for the advise Joeyyy. I got a call today too. At home, at work and my cell phone. Telling me I had 2 hours to call them or I will be receiving a summons. I called them back and told them I can't pay.

New number people. 855-245-6127 Got a call from a Monica Jordan Process Server for State of California. She stated (in voicemail) that there had been a formal complaint filed against me and i will be served at either my home or work AND THAT I NEED TO BE AVAILABLE! She then gave the above mentioned number along with a case number. I called the number from a blocked number (as they had done me) and the outgoing message stated that they were ACS and this is an attempt to collect a dept. The outgoing message also gave 2 options: press 1 to settle out of court and press 2 to dispute. I don't scare to easily. I mean i hid a car for almost 2 years with investigators coming to my house. Nothing to brag about however, IM NOT THE KIND OF PERSON YOU CAN FEED SOME B*LLSHIT TO! Besides,,I NEVER ANSWER OR RESPOND TO PHONE NUMBERS THAT COME UP "RESTRICTED" OR "UNKNOWN". Nonetheless, i didn't respond and decided to let my fingers do the walking on my laptop and came up with this blog.

yes I got a call from them they said they have a court summons that they will be coming out to my place of employment or my home to serve me the summons. They said that I would be arrested and place in jail. They said its against the law to take out a loan  and not repay it. I do have a couple of loans that I have a company that I'm working with to help me pay them off. I will never do this again. I've learned my lesson. So of course I panicked they call my job and said its a legal matter. I had trouble paying because I was diagnosed with breast cancer and colon cancer so I had a hard time paying due to having surgery and not working for awhile. Then my dad and mom were killed in a car accident. So do they have the right to say this and do as they say about the court summons.
