No, no one is getting served. They tried to tell me that I was currently being sued and if I did not pay them they would be taking me to court. Thing is, in my state, all records are available online. I told the guy I was talking to that there is no case filed against me. Him telling me that if I paid him some money today that he would put in a summons to release my case. A CASE THAT DOES NOT EXIST. This company is a scam. I asked them for their address so I could send them a debt verification letter, they told me they will see me in court. By law, when asked, a debt collector is supposed to verify the debt. [***] ACS!!! They use scare tactics. And processes servers don't call you, they just show up at your place of employment or your home.

if you get a call from them again, request a debt verification letter and watch them scramble. They are a scam, don't buy into their scam. I called the company who they claim I had a payday loan with. They said I don't have anything on file for your information. So, however they got my info, or tried to steal my information is beyond me. If they cannot send you a debt verification letter, they are scamming you. Tell them you will see them in court. And be sure to read up on your rights.

Today received a call from a process server who stated her name was Elister Cortez investigating fraud check charge for a company ACS group from phone number 877-854-3939.  She advised she needed to serve a court summons to verify my phone number / address and could she meet with me today.  Something felt fishy so I called the company who states payday loan company debt and advised that i could rectify this debt today w/ settlement or payments.  They state they are a law firm.  My husband was able to call back and give a fake name of James Young and believe or not they pulled up the file and gave my husband his sSI number and address.  My husband then questioned them for their address but they would not release it to him stating they have received threats themselves and that they were in fact a law firm.  Surre, whatever. I suppose I will wait for a court summons and provide this nice blog as reference to a scam by 3rd party.

believe I had a call from a scam artist.  I received a message for my daughter on my home phone saying the person was a process server Robert Blake giving me a case number and saying the summons was on behalf of a company called Advance America a check cashing company.  The caller number showed up as unknown.  They left the number of 877-854-3939 as a contact number for an Attorney.  I suspected scam so I called the number and talked to a customer service person who wanted my case number.  Gave it to them and they asked if I was my daughter and I said "no".  I asked what company he worked for and he said ACS Group. He then asked if I knew her and I said "yes".  I didn't tell them who I was or that she was my daughter but asked his name.  Josh something.  I asked how I could verify the company is real and they put me on hold.  Lo and behold I was disconnected.  Called a little bit later and got a gentleman who said his name was Scott Sandler Attorney at Law.  I asked if he had a website he said no.  I asked for his physical address he gave me 8024 Riggs Rd., Chandler, Arizona, 85248.  I told him I didn't believe he was a real attorney and that I would report him to the FBI and he said "go ahead".  I have reported him to do not call registry and my daughter is reporting him to the FTC.  I have been unable to verify anything about this attorney on line.  You would think if this man were an attorney he would at least be in the yellow pages.  All of this smells like a huge SCAM and way to get someone's personal information for identity theft.

I just got a call from them for my daughter.  The lady's name was Kayla.  She said she was trying to serve my daughter with a court summons.  When she called she didn't even ask for my daughter just said she was leaving a message for her to serve her.  She gave me a phone number of 877-470-5290 and a case number.  Now right off the bat I know that with a number like this, they are not actually with the courts or police/sherrifs office.  She said she was a process server.  I said "so your with the sherrifs department?" and She said YES!  I think there is definately something that the DA can do to people who pretend and actually say they are with the Sherrifs department.  Anyway I asked her for what company my daugter was being servied and she started stuttering and then said she could not tell me.  I googled ACS and I found this site and many more like it.  Thanks for all the information previously posted about this being a scam

thanks for those who spoke up about this.  a family member that i don't even speak to got a call a couple of days ago saying that they were looking for me because i have fraudulent check charges, but wouldn't tell me what for.  i had a voicemail waiting from a state process server talking about i had a court summons.  now i know how to handle this situation.  thanks!

Got a call today from Alissa Cortez for a Melissa Taylor. Said she was trying to serve Melissa at her home and place of employment.  Left a case number and phone number of 866-629-9725 on my voicemail.  I called the number and found it was ACS Group so I hung up. Don't call this number back.

Received  several messages from different people.  Caller ID comes in as unknown.  They want to have me meet with a process server so I can be served for a bad check.  They referred to themselves as Plaintiff.  I haven't written a check in 4 years.  They gave a case number.  I finally called back.  Told them that I do not know the person they were looking for.  The person I talked to said they would not be calling again.  We'll see.  Whoever represents this company  has no knowledge of the law.

My daughter called me today in hysterics stating that someone from 866-629-9725 namely Derrick Bevers, wanted to serve me some papers, gave her a case # and told her that I was the defendant in this case.I called back and couldn't get an answer after three tries.Can someone please tell me whether or not this is a legitimate company (ACS Group).I have a gravely ill husband and the calls from this company is only making matters worse at my home.

I got a call today also from them saying to a server for the courts and asked for someone unknown but my number was the secondary number.  Said no one here at this name but they did ask for my phone number stupid me gave it to them.  But that is all that I gave them.  I am still worried.  Did anyone report this to their local DA and if so what was the outcome if any?

just got the phone with my brother.I also got a call from a nick halden with acs group looking for me about a fraudulent check and with a case #.I checked phone # and its not a valid # The # is 866-629-9704.They also are trying to serve me papers at my job but since reading all this about acs group Iam not going to lose any sleep on this matter

Blake claiming to be a processor regarding returned checks bad checks. Left a case number and left this phone number to call back 866-841-2497 when you call it states they are ACS in which when I looked up info its a fraud, tell them to serve the papers and hang up.

A guy by the name Ben Manson called me today stating I have been charged with Fraudulent check charges and I will need to call them and He is a State process server. How lame that these guys think they can used and abused  individual information. This whole thing makes them guilty of falsifying their information to citizen. I search for their information and they are called ACS group debt, they are debt collectors that intimidate people and falsifying information. I am going to report this company for wrong doing

I fell into their trap and they were able to get $400.00 out of me.  I have since canceled the account I paid them out of and reopened a new one.  I will probably never see my money again, but does anyone have any idea how I can at least report them to anyone that would try and do anything?  Makes me mad at myself for being so stupid.  They should be ashamed of themselves, I am going through cancer treatments and need every penny I have right now.  The number they used on me was 866-841-2497 and the name of Sue Green.  Just be aware if you get this kind of call and don't fall into their trap.

These people are bold and heartless.  Received another call from them today, so decided to ask a bunch of verification questions such as business name, address, letter of debt owed, etc.  She would not give this information out saying that only her supervisor could do that because they receive death threats, etc.  Said they would email, not mail, but email all the information I requested.  Yeah, right.....I won't hold my breathe...I might turn blue before they send me anything.  If nothing else, I hope my posting help others from being scammed.

I recevied this call from on my parents number. They asked for the last four of my social and I gave them a completly fake SSN and they said yep this is you. Then I asked for a debt verification letter and they wouldn't/couldn't give it to me.  Then said they would see me in court. Yeah...okkkkk

Has anyone here ever been served? these people sound really convincing a got $100 dollars from me along with a payment plan set up.  FTC does not do a damn thing !!  I also got in touch with the original debt owner and found who should have the debt, he told me he sold it to IAG, and then I received a call from IAG shortly after that.  FIne, if I owe the debt, I want to pay, but I want to pay the right person !!  Anyone know anything about IAG, they do sound legitimate, and I will call them tomorrow and tell them someone else is claiming to own the debt !!!

I am going to call the Attorney General in their state, then We will see !!
