I had this [***] call me from a (877)688-8288 his name is Don Perry which of course is a fake name. Telling me to pay a debt I never acquired. But all I had to do is pay a 1 time fee which is [***] . So I told he to F off with his fake company . So he got mad & called my work . (Which is very disturbing ) . I called him back tellin him I'm filing a police report & taking him to court . Hopefully they stop calling . I put a freeze on my credit just incase .
This is a scam people ! These are scare tactics.

I have received multiple letters the past 2 years from DCS (Dekalb County Solutions, Inc) concerning an account that has been closed for 20 years.  Although DCS is listed in the inquiry section of one credit report agency, the account is not listed on any of the 3 credit agency report.  Each letter from DCS demands a different pay off amount; starting a little over $500.00 and the most recent letter last week was $57.29.  I have received phone calls from an 815 area code but there has never been any person on the line.

Have your work block their number. This is a scam business and what they are doing is illegal. Explain they are harassing you and it needs to stop

Absolute scam! My husband got a letter demanding 300 on a 700 debt that wasn't his. When he called to ask what it was, the guy was IMMEDIATELY rude and aggressive. He said 'your social is THIS! Your birthday is THIS!' My husband is like 'no it's not. I was born 11 years after that and the date this debt was accrued I was ten'
The guy hung up. We called back. He SCREAMED (actually screamed) that he read the social and birthday to my husband and that IS him! My husband was like 'wtf is wrong with you? I'm trying to tell you...' Click. Guy hung up again. Called back. He told us to 'stop f'ing calling.' Now you know it feels mthrfkr.
NO legal or reputable business would operate this way. They are clearly just trying to shake people down for money. Like the mob.

A man named David Holiday called me saying I owe money to an ACE Cash Express that apparently I opened over 10 years ago.  I didn't remember opening up an account so I asked him to send me something in the mail to verify the account.  He refused to do so.  Which is illegal.  He said that many notices have been sent out and I refused to response to them.  I never got any notices.  He said they were sent to an old address I no longer live at which does this company no good.  I am not paying on a debt that someone claims I owe.  I need proof.  Nothing shows on my credit that I owe this company anything.  If these people really want us to work with them follow the law and just verify the debt.  Calling someone over the phone saying we owe you money is not going to work.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

I received a letter from this company I called them to find out what it was about and no sooner than I asked the "representative " started telling me I was paying my debt today blah blah.. when I informed him that I worked for a collection agency that's when he got quiet and hung up!!!!

I got a call from 815-265-6015 and the person, Robert Cooper called and gave his number as 1877-688-8288 extension 131. I have the number blocked with the app TruCaller, but he was still able to leave a voicemail.

Got a call from (815) 265-6015 stating they were Dekalb County Solutions and that I needed to call (877) 688- 8288 and speak to Donald Perry (maybe?? the fella spoke way to fast and wasn't clear) at ext 104.  Caller ID only said "Gilman, IL" and I don't answer calls when I don't know the number or Caller ID isn't provided.  After reading all these other comments on here there is no way I'm calling these people back.  These numbers will go on my Block list.

Its worse that that.  They try to get many people to pay on debt that never evwn existed.  Scum bag con artists!!!

got a call from 630 326 8550 leaving a message to call back ilene at DCS 877 688 8288 ext 131,,,u got a letter regarding a 500 debt from 2005 with their name..SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

This company has been calling me at work and on my cell phone during work. I have asked them not to call during work. Today they called and talked to the receptionist and asked to speak to her supervisor and threatened to get her in trouble because she was not allowing him to do his job.

James very rude - would not identify what DCS stood for or purpose of company.  Told him to put my number on do not call list.  He stated there is no such thing.

The caller used X131.  Female.  Cant read my handwriting. Said a James Stanberry was applying for credit and was using my name and
phone number for reference.  In order to talk to me, they asked for the last 4 digits of my ss and month and date of birth.  I gave that thinking they were needing to id me.  That was not smart.  Anyway, I told them I knew no one by  the name of James Stanberry and that ended  the call.  Now, I am ordering a credit report to see if there is any monkey business on it.

If you don't know a person by that name, why would you even continue the conversation let alone give them personal information?!

"not smart" is unfortunately the understatement of the century.  You will now need to take extreme measures to protect your identity.

These people are trying to collect a debt from 2003. HELLO! SOL IN TX IS 4 YEARS. I also understand if you do agree to pay they can reset your SOL. That's why I won't pay this. All they want is their commission. They don't care how they get it. Threatened me with court, emptying my bank account, taking my property. I'm 66 years old.
