- nickWas told to call back because of suspicious activity on my online account, by a rep named Cutis.
Didn't instead called chase 8009359935 via website info and was transferred to fraud department. They checked my account for me and found no suspicious activity. Also noted that no request was recently noted on my account for contact by email or phone. They took down the number and stated that it was not a Chase number. - Chase Employee OLP| 1 replyTHIS IS A CHASE NUMBER. This is for Chase's Operating Loss Prevention.
- anonymous replies to MattBy "We don't ask for peoples info", Chris the Chase employee means critical personal info like SSN and DOB.
Chase has to ask for info like a password to ID the customer but NEVER critical personal info like SSN and DOB.
By "yes we do ask for the information", Matt the SCAMMER means we want to STEAL critical personal info like your SSN and DOB. - ShawdayHonestly when I got the 1st call I knew it was NOT Chase, but a scam. It's just common sense that NEVER have I had a bank call me at 11 PM which after answered it's on a recording asking for debit and account numbers. COMMON SENSE PEOPLE! USE IT! I went to my local Chase branch and called the number for them in front of my banker and he stated it was a scam. I got another call today, Answered it and stated "I KNOW Your not Chase" and they hang up. lol
- Shawday replies to Chase Employee OLPChase Employee? Yeah right! Your a employee for the FAKE "Chase" that's calling and scamming people !!!
- FnNickname replies to MstrglassThis is Chase. Based on the comments on this forum, I called my local branch who transferred me to this number to confirm a check I'd written. They take FOREVER to get through when you call though. Heaven forbid this was anything time sensitive since it seems like it is just one person answering the phone rather than having a full fraud department.
- elise replies to Blake| 2 repliesit is fraudulent! i had a call from them asking my debit card number to verify the account. i called chase myself and they said it is fraudulent. get your facts straight. i wonder if you werent the one who call and scam people.
- Deborah2nd fraudulent call from "Chase" today.
- Caller: Said they were Chase
- KellyThis is the number I was given by a phone rep to speak to someone about releasing funds on a large check that was on hold.
The number is legitimate. - JSSo this actually is a Chase number; it's their fraud prevention line. The number at the back of your debit card is the number you should always call. Better safe than sorry.
- JoeH| 2 repliestl;dr - This is NOT a scam number, but use a published Chase number until they publish this number.
This is a valid number for Chase Fraud Protection.
Based on the mixed feedback I saw from others responding on this website, I called into their main number for existing accounts: 1-800-242-7338
After providing a LOT of identifying information, they confirmed that there was a hold on a check we had written and that they were going to transfer me to 1-877-691-8086 option 4. This is the number they gave back to me in case I was disconnected, and this first person I talked to confirmed again that the 1-877-691-8086 was valid.
I was then transferred to the 1-877-691-8086 number where I spoke with the fraud prevention representative and after MORE information finally got the check cleared.
I then complained quite loudly regarding the fact that they don't publish that number (1-877-691-8086) ANYWHERE on their website. The representative said that she agreed it should be published and said she would forward my feedback to her supervisors.
Until you see the number listed at this URL: https://www.chase.com/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpma ... ge/report_fraud I would suggest that you call through one of their published numbers and take the extra time to have them forward you, rather than take a stranger's word on the internet.
I hope this save a few minutes for the next person.- Caller: Chase Fraud Protection
- anonymous replies to JoeH| 1 replyJoeH's ASSERTION that he was ALLEGEDLY told by a Chase rep that this number is a Chase number does *NOT* prove this number is a legit Chase number (and it is indeed NOT legit). 800notes is *NOT* a trusted source for legit phone numbers. His elaborate story line that Chase's fraud department uses secret, unlisted, unverifiable numbers is a favorite SCAMMER fable used to explain why this SCAMMER number is NOT LISTED ANYWHERE as a Chase number -- not on the back of your card, not on your bank statement, not on Chase's website, and not in your phone book. It's critical for the SCAMMERS to have potential victims believe they are talking to Chase on this number (and victims are NOT) so victims will willingly give away their account and ID info (and victims should NOT) to the SCAMMER reps on this number. The SCAMMERS will *NEVER*NEVER*NEVER* give up on asserting this number is a legit Chase number (and it is NOT) for this very reason.
The real Chase Bank tells its customers to call back on TRUSTED numbers from the back of card, bank statement, website or phone book.
Is this number found of ANY of those trusted sources?
NO, NO, NO. Therefore, potential victims should NOT interact with this number at all.
Don't answer it, don't give away info to it, don't call it back, and don't believe anything it tells you -- I bet the SCAMMERS will NEVER tell you this!
877-691-8086 is not listed as a Chase report fraud number https://www.chase.com/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpma ... ge/report_fraud
877-691-8086 is not listed as a Chase contact number https://www.chase.com/online/services/phone-numbers.htm
1. SCAMMERS post LIES on 800notes to convince potential victims that this is a legit number (and it is NOT).
2. CallerID is *NOT* a trusted source for legit phone numbers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing
3. 800notes is *NOT* a trusted source for legit phone numbers.
4. If 877-691-8086 calls you, DON'T answer or give away any info.
5. NEVER call 877-691-8086 back or ANY bank number supplied by a stranger.
6. If you need to call Chase, use a number from a TRUSTED SOURCE (back of card, bank statement, website, phone book) - Kara12LEGIT. I got a voice message and called the bank right away to confirm. They transferred my call to this number. Not sure why other posts say it's a scam.

- Yazani tried to log into my Chase account but it was block because i sent some money to a friend yesterday who is not with Chase. They verified my info and the name of the person i sent the payment and my account is not locked. it's a Chase indeed,,, well for now haha if all my money goes away tomorrow, i'll post again :)
- Michael W.This number was actually given to me by a Chase CSR the other day to contact the loss prevention dept., so I'm fairly sure it's legit.
The page you people are quoting like the bible is a "Contact Us" page. They do not release any numbers publicly other than the "front desk" so to speak, who will transfer you to various numbers; however, when someone from loss prevention/fraud calls you, there is no reason for them to route you through regular CSRs.
Also, Chase does NOT exclusively use 800 numbers. As an example, the service number on a Disney Debit card is also an 877- number. See https://www.chase.com/online/Checking/disney-visa-debit.htm for proof. :)- Caller: Chase
- Michael W. replies to anonymousYour assertion that this is a false number is, frankly, paranoia. It's no secret that Chase has "backdoor" numbers. Google such things as "Chase Executive Credit Service." Those numbers, in addition to bypassing all EIVRs, will connect you with real, American chase employees who have powers very far beyond the number on the back of your card. You'll be able to verify them with many internet sources, but you won't find it anywhere from Chase, who would prefer that you ALWAYS start with the number on the back of your card. That's not a bad thing, but to say that a number is fraudulent because they don't publicly disclose it, is completely unfounded.
You had me so scared that I didn't return a call, and subsequently had to drive to a branch to unlock all three of my deposit accounts.
Thanks. - Violet800-366-1962 is another number being used by the "Chase Fraud" people that may be or may not be legit. Just a heads up!

- Tara| 1 replyI called the actual chase number on the back of my card and this number IS A FRAUD!! They now have to send me a new card and I have to change some of my Chase information. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION!!
- Whynot replies to Billy| 2 repliesIt certainly is chase. If they lock your online account for whatever reason this is the number that appears when you attempt to login.
