You are right they were ripped-off.  These people work throught the internet in my case through a call center but I asked all the right questions and checked the BBB but because they had no compalints and people don't know where to go to complain these crooks get away and continue to defraud people.  I feel sorry for your parents its people like this company that is hurting people who are already victimized by the economy and the debunked housing market.  They take advantage of your desperartion to keep your piece of the American dream.

file a complaint at bbb.org/utahbusiness-reviews/loan...per-ut22293671.  To date they have 24 complaints.  It could be more if people who are or have been victimized will file with their State Attorney General and the BBB in Utah.

That is the biggest lie Melissa Vicotors DLG is as illegal as they get.  After the took me for two payments of $975.00 I did alot of digging and you know what fraud, fraud, fraud.  I filed a complaint throught Utah and they sent an e-mail back asking me to send them everthting form DLG, if I had any questions call them so I did.  Guess what the FBI is after DLG and I sent them everything I had inculding the BS e-mails from DLG.  When I question Miss Brooke Furner about all the complaints she blew it off.  DLG did nothging for me and will do nothing for others they will only take your money.  They do not have attorneys in every state they are do not evern have a liscense in my home state of Wisconsin.  They are only a  third party referral service at best.  I contacted my attorney in WI and he told me the same thing.  I also filed a complaint in Wisconsin  on the rip DLG.  No one is allowed to charge up front home fees to distressed owners.  I suspect you are DLG pay off to write happy little things about DLG.  All  this happened in April of this year 2012.  I cannot wait until the FBI takes the BS artist DLG down.

http://realestate.utah.gov/complaints.html  this is the link to file a complaint.  Sorry I did not get back to you in July.  Danielson would not give me any money back.  I asked them for the person at my lending company these said they had been working with.  Hm guess what she doesn't exist and guess what my lender had never recieved anything from ole DLG.  I strongly suggest you file a complain through Utah Relestate they will ask you for everything from DLG scan it an e-mail  it to them. DLG is doing nothing but ripping people off write and left.  In my last post I told you I was closing my checking.  Well I did but before I did DLG made three additional attempts to take money out of the account, in addition like I said they would be calling and they did multiple times including sending me letters that my payment had been denied.  Yes DLG that is correct I slammed down my accout no more money from me.  I have saved all the phone messages from DLG on my phone and the attempts to recieve money etc. as well.  Everyone needs  to file complaints and not just through the BBB they don't investiage and take action against rip off artists like DLG you need to file thrugh Utah Relesate gov site for action and in your home state as well so others are not ripped off.  DLG had the balls to even send notices from the orginal part of the scam from CA about helpping distressed home owners.  So I called the number and they said they have the best law firm who handles loan modifications.  I asked who is that?  I already new the answer, they said DLG.  I almost fell off my chair I was laughing so hard.  Then I light into the girl on the other end and said yeah well they already ripped me off enough etc.   Funny thing is the envelopes they contunued to send all looked a little different but the same 800 number to call.   Ripp off artist.

"only a  third party referral service at best" -- yep, that's what I figured and Melissa Victors is a DLG shill  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill  Not having been scammed by DLG myself, I am not privy to what the scammers tell victims on the phone, can only guess at what the scammers are up to as the scam evolved and enough details got finally posted to reveal the full scam.
"No one is allowed to charge up front home fees to distressed owners" is incorrect. The FTC's MARS rule allows attorneys who meet certain requirements to charge up front. Everybody else may not. You can read about it here  http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus77-mortg ... es-rule-lawyers  DLG does not qualify for this attorney exemption outside of Utah and in Utah, DLG still has to meet the fiduciary duty to clients spelled out in MARS. The co-counsel-in-every-state ruse is a sleazy attempt to meet the MARS licensed-to-practise-in-homeowner's-state requirement to justify their up-front charges. Have you read page 6 of this thread where the shill "Truthfully Yours" argues that Pro Hac Vice and local co-counsels justify DLG's upfront charges?

I am sorry to all the homeowners that I helped scam. I was not trained on the regulations of loan modifications, only how to sell it to desperate people. There are legitimate law firms, but this is not one of them. DLG has changed their name several times. They treat their clients like they treat their employees. They chew them up and then spit them out. Christy Reid, Chad Vansickle, Tony, Sean Coberly, are only some of the scam artist that are living off of people's desperation. It's all lies!!! Karma will get you! They train their employees to sell false hope and then they don't give you a refund when you're entitled to a refund. This is not a real law firm, only a call center that pretends to offer legal representation when all they do is outsource the legal work to a real law firm. This is a glorified referral service. They will be going out of business soon and will change their name again. BEWARE!

    Submitted by Fox13Now Web Staff
    Tuesday, June 12th, 2012, 3:35pm

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Federal agents swarmed a call center here and questioned employees as part of an ongoing probe into a Midvale law firm’s mortgage modification business.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Utah confirmed to FOX 13 an investigation was under way into CC Brown Law, which advertised itself online as helping people with debt problems. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the business operated under “Sentry Legal,” “WT Lee” and “JL Martin,” among other names.
FOX 13 was there as agents blocked off the exits to the building and escorted employees, one by one, into a command post to be questioned. FBI agents at the scene in West Valley City refused to comment.
In a statement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Utah said the search warrants served were sealed and no criminal charges have been filed. However, the office put out a plea for people who have been using the firm’s services to come forward and speak with the FBI.
“Individuals who have been working with the business on a mortgage modification, who would like information, can contact a toll free number established by the FBI at 1-877-236-8947 (press option 2). The toll-free number will be activated this evening,” the statement said.
“A recorded message will advise individuals that they can submit contact information and copies of any documents to the FBI by mailing them to the FBI Salt Lake City Division, attention CC Brown Investigation. The FBI’s address is 257 East 200 South, Suite 1200, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.”
“Individuals can also submit information about the company’s business practices to the FBI by e-mail at saltlakecity@ic.fbi.gov,” the statement said.
Attempts to reach CC Brown Law representatives for comment at its Fort Union offices on Tuesday afternoon were unsuccessful. A man who was seen being led into the FBI’s mobile command post refused to comment to FOX 13 as he walked to his car.
“I can’t say anything, man,” he said as he got into the vehicle.
In a statement sent to FOX 13 on Tuesday night, Sentry Legal disassociated itself with CC Brown Law Firm.
“While Sentry Legal is contracted to provide legal support services to the Law Offices of C. C. Brown, we are not, nor have we ever been, a subsidiary, principal or operated under the name of C.C. Brown,” the statement said. “Sentry Legal is a separate company from the Law Offices of C. C. Brown. Sentry Legal has not been “raided” by the FBI, in fact, upon hearing of the C.C. Brown news, Sentry Legal has contacted the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office to cooperate as needed.”
Online, CC Brown Law had numerous websites that appeared to no longer be in service. One listed testimonials, including one that proclaimed the firm “specialized in helping people in getting loan modifications for the last few years. Several people have been helped from the CC Brown Law services and they are looking to help many more.”
But also online were numerous websites and even a Facebook group blasting the firm for its customer service and claiming it is a scam.
The Utah Division of Real Estate said it has taken action against the company in 2010. The company was fined $5,000 for advertising loan modification services without a mortgage license, state officials said.
The state of Maryland issued a cease and desist order against CC Brown Law in 2011.
Judy Driggs, the president of the Better Business Bureau of Utah said her office had fielded 55 complaints against CC Brown Law, with people claiming they had given money to the firm to work with lenders. Those people, she said, had lost anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000 without hearing back from the firm.

Wow. All this has been amazing to read. I was contacted by a DLG employee and told the whole story of how my home could be saved. The whole thing seemed sketchy, so I contacted the Utah Attorney General's Office. They told me first-hand that DLG (Danielson Law Group) has a cease and desist order and the case has been turned over to the FBI. So glad I never contracted with them. Thanks, all, for the insightful information.
