- T MaI can understand promotions from a bank even if they are constant and annoying, but the voice at this number when I finally decided to answer asked me to verify the last 4 digits of my SS# in order to prepare the unsolicited paper work for a line of credit. We all know, I hope, not to give this kind of info over the phone to an unknown voice who has called us. If this really is Santander, they should cease this unprofessional practice. If it is a Scam, Santander should alert its customers.
- Caller: They said Santander

- LMLThis number just called our business at 1427 hours. The woman introduced herself, said she was calling from PRG (?) on behalf of something-something bank. (Santander, I think. What used to be Sovereign Bank.) She asked to speak with the owner (by first name). When told he is on the road, she asked if there was anyone else here who could make a finanacial decision. Anticipating the purpose of her call, I informed her we didn't need a loan and had no debts. She said she would mark as "not interested." We shall see.

President and CEO
Santander Bank
75 State Street
Boston, Massachusetts 02109
Dear Mr. Blanco:
Please stop calling me.
Below is a list of times for recent calls received from Santander Bank at my residential telephone number, NPA-NXX-XXXX, placed from 877-768-2265. When the first call arrived, I indicated that I did not wish to be called again. Furthermore, my phone number is a verified entry in the FTC Do Not Call registry.
These calls are a violation of the telemarketing sales rule. By law, any person who receives more than one telephone call within any 12 month period by or on behalf of the same entity in violation of the law is entitled to recover up to $500 in damages for each such violation.
Stop it now. Please send me a check for $500 to cover the call today, 17 April 2014 at 13:11:36 UTC. If I do not receive payment from Santander Bank in the amount of $500, or if I receive further calls, I reserve the right to take legal action as permitted under the telemarketing sales rule, requesting $500 for each and every call after the first one in the list, and including any future calls. So far that is $4,000.
Please note that I understand that this appears to be a common practice of your telemarketing organization. A Google search for your telephone number reveals a large number of complaints of repeated and often daily calls.
Sincerely,
John C
List of calls. Times are in UTC. I requested no further calls when the first call was placed.

- BILLY replies to susanWell, remember, sometimes they pick out random numbers and call them. So they probably picked out a random number (yours) but they didn't know the name of the person associated with the number.
- Anthony replies to susanOooh, reporting them. Big time.
- Ray J.It comes in as unavailable 1-877-768-2265 I called them again and they said I was on their NO NOT CALL list, so why am I am still getting calls. I am on the State and Fed do not call list also. ( for as good as that is. )

- Ray J.These calls keep coming in from Sovereign Bank. They have assured me that I am on their Do Not Call List. Also I am on the Federal and State do not call list but I keep getting these calls every day. I would suggest everybody getting these calls to call them back and waste their resources as they are wasting our time. Please note if you have any computer knowledge, have your computer keep calling them and hanging up.

- anonymous replies to anonymousThis is a follow-up to my post. They have just called me again anyway. I gave them a very nasty call and they were polite but seemed fed-up. I guess they are fed-up of angry calls back?
I reminded them of their obligation under the do not call laws. - schulie replies to lissa0035| 1 replyThere is no more Sovereign Bank. They changed their name back to Santander bank about 3 months ago.
- REEIT is indirectly from Santander but they are calling for a credit card so people without an account might also be called. they do go away if you say no but the start again in about 6 months...it's not a scam ( phishing for info) but it IS annoying.
- Caller: Santander
- Call type: Telemarketer
- anonymousdid not leave a message. So I called Santander, using option 6.
she was very polite and apologetic, but seemed fed-up of getting calls. She put me on their do not call list AGAIN. either they are really not communicating to their departments to not call, or it is someone pretending to be them?
I am not sure it is them, they confirmed I was already on their suppression list, but put me on it again anyway. what if it is a scam, spoofing their #?- Caller: Santander???
