- duh04 replies to Rick| 7 repliesReally?! Take a minute and think before you post; not everybody owns a business therefore does not have tax ID numbers!! If you are initiating the phone call there is no concern releasing your SSN, the concern is when the company calls you and demands your SSN. Also, TWC prefers that you have a password on the account anyway. TWC, by far the worst company I've had to deal with...too bad they're the only provider in my area "monopoly"
- Vern replies to duh04| 2 repliesYour SSN IS your tax ID for filing your yearly federal and state income taxes. SSN's were given out for this purpose only. Not for identification purposes.
- suzanneThis number keeps calling. You pick it up and say hello over and over and they dont hang up, You have to hang up.

- AnnoyedREPEATED CALLS TO MY CELL PHONE, BEYOND ANNOYING! I'VE TOLD THEM I'M NOT INTERESTED BUT CONTINUE TO CALL. GET A CLUE! I'M DROPPING MY TIME WARNER ACCOUNT.

- moneyYep, it is most definitely Time Warner Cable. They have been calling me like crazy...and I even talked to them..told them, hey stop calling me and in a week or two I'll upgrade...of course they keep calling. Wanting me to add more movie channels! It's pretty annoying...I'm more likely to buy stuff without being hassled about it. Plus, they aren't even real deals, just people calling about what the prices are. oh well, I love my tv.
- ji keep getting calls too.
it's the "time warner cable special promotions dept"
tried adding it to my phone's reject list, but somehow still gets through.
it is SO ANNOYING. - JimI just called the 877 number back for Time Warner and just asked to be taken off thier call list. No problem or hassle. Just ask them, I doubt they wanna loose your service over somthing dumb like this.

- r. arthurwe are on the do not call list and still get all from this number.
- JimThis number has called repeatedly over the last week (say 1/2 dozen times). I can't even tell them to stop, as each time they call, I get hung up on just after I answer. Other calls I receive are fine, so it's not my phone.
- Caller: Time Warner (suspected)
- SusanI have Time Warner Cable and get calls from them all the time. So far this is the second number I have identified as being from them. I label it in my Caller ID so I know not to answer it the next time they call. If the call goes to your answering machine or voice mail, they hang up during your greeting so it doesn't even register as a message. That's fine with me. Maybe if they continue to be unsuccessful getting in touch with me, they will stop. If not, at least I know who it is.
- Caller: Time Warner Cable
- SusanFYI, if you have ever done business with the people calling you, in this case TWC, the Do Not Call registry does not apply. Even if you call a business inquiring about services or whatever, they then have the right to call you with offers, etc. That's why so many commercials say "Call this number for more information or "for a free brochure". Once they have your info, you are IN whether you want to be or not.

- kkLOL GOTCHA!!! GOOGLE VOICE NUMBER TOTALLY BAFFLED THEM.
I highly suggest all of you setup a google voice account or some sort of filter for them and you'll never hear them call! - noTW| 1 replywell I just called them and spoke with a victoria. She took my name and number and was pleasant and said it would be added to the do not call list there and would be effective in 48 hours. We'll see!
- DianDo not bother me with calls from this number. I am on the Do not call list. You need to pay for your own calls.
- Caller: DON'T KNOW

- Been TherePlease set your call management software to block all toll free calls. Only about 0.5% have anything good for the called party - but there is ALWAYS something the caller wants for self serving interests.
Screw 'em !!- Caller: Time Warner Cable
- Eric in OhioI've been a customer of TWC for a little over 7 years because they just happen to have the best available Internet for my area.
I can assure everyone that trying to get them to stop all sales related calls is impossible and futile. I've tried everything, believe me. Many times.
I've resigned myself to the fact that it simply can't be done.
It's kind of a running joke around here except it's true: When the seasons change, that's when the TWC digital phone package shill calls go out. I'm not kidding. When we hit the first day of autumn here I said to my family: "TWC will be calling inside of a week" and that's exactly what happened just like every other time like clockwork. It never fails.
They'll never stop calling either until you finally take that call so I hope they enjoy wasting their time because we're not answering it. They're peristent and they won't go away.
I hope we get some more competitors in the area some day so I can ditch them but that'll still mean for the next year I'll be open to those kinds of calls from them anyways.
It's a shame these companies have no respect for their customers oft repeated requests and wishes.- Caller: Time Warner Cable
