Called themselves American Motor Protection. I have 100k miles full warranty through Chrysler Jeep so I knew this was some bogus deal but when I told them if they didn't take me off their call list, I'd report them to BBB and then rep got real nasty and said he'd remove my vehicle from warranty. THIS IS A SCAM

I'm surprised that he didn't start laughing so hard that his soda came out of his nose when you told him that you were going to report him to the most useless, worthless agency on the planet (BBB).

I received a call from (351)222-3365 at 11:40am on my cellphone on Chicago. It was tagged as spam and sent directly to my voicemail. There was a recorded message from Katie about my cars warranty and to call her back at (888)218-0804. I don't have a car or a drivers license.

The voicemail from this gal said she has sent several mailers to my home and doesn't understand why I haven't called her back. Said that I need to do so today in order to keep my file open. Called from one phone number but gave me a different phone number to return the call. The only thing going on here is a scam.

I received exactly the same scripted message. Sounds like a scam to sell extended warranties.

Called from a different number but left this number in the voicemail. A woman on the voicemail said that she had sent a few mailers to my home but is unsure why they havent heard from me. She then asked that I returned the call to the number provided.

This one was an entertaining junk call at least. The caller had no clue what the "SAE" (formerly the Society of Automotive Engineers) was. I was a working member for over 40 years. Anyway, this is the most useless scam there is. If you're worried about auto repairs, save your money and don't give these crooks a dime.

Katie (1-877-621-1669) left several message similar to what other transcripts mentioned in the above comments for this number. Called number given in message 1-888-218-0804, male answered, insistent that I give my credit card for $195 payment, very aggressive/pushy/rude. He argued with me about how much I need this "warranty". My husband spoke to him as well and he argued with him too.

Called from an UNKNOWN NAME and I didn’t answer. I received a voicemail from a Katie stating they’ve been trying to reach me about my factory warranty and she left this number. Of course I called back and another female answered without any greeting asking for my year, make and model of my vehicle to pull up my account. She then goes on to say they’ve been trying to reach me about a $190 payment that needs to be paid or my coverage with be stopped. I said I wasn’t interested. She said I’m not asking you if you’re interested I’m telling you a payment needs to be made to continue coverage. I told her I haven’t signed anything since I bought the vehicle 5 yrs ago. She stated that they would stop all coverage and hung up on me. So I called back and the same thing a guy answers without a greeting. I asked him what company it was and that’s when he gave me American auto protection and then hung up on me.

Call came in on my girlfriend's cell phone's voice mail yesterday, same message from this "Katie" as reported by other call recipients. Since cell connections are poor where I live, I decided to chance calling that same toll free number from my condo. Had some scripted female robocaller try selling me a free medical device alert. Voice was so lifelike I first thought it was real but since it would not stop after several attempts to interrupt, I caught on. No mention of any car warranty or anything; instead I was transferred to another robot who would take down my information. Since I could not get a live person, I hung up. Beyond fed up with these parasites & our inability to halt their evils.

“Hi there this is Katie I was calling regarding the factory warranty on your vehicle um ___ actually called you several times and we also sent out mail to your home so I'm not quite sure why we haven't heard back from you yet in any case is important that we speak to you today in order to keep your file open so please call me at 18882180804 thank you so much for your immediate attention to this matter and I hope we can connect soon bye for now…”

This was the message that was transcribed from my voicemail. It’s definitely a scam or something related. She was also very shaky and stuttery in her message. Not something I’d expect from a professional. I wasn’t called “several times” as stated it’s just a nod to make you feel adamant in calling back. She didn’t even give a business name in the beginning. Another red flag.

What's cracking me up about this one is that the script that people are getting off of visual voicemail has an Um in the exact same place as the VM I got. And that same Um is there from the 2020 posts about this call. So, that would imply they've been using the same recording of "Katie" for the VM message for a long time. And it's clearly recorded to sound "casual" and not like a pre-recorded message. I'll even bet you the recording isn't of anyone actually affiliated with the scammers, but is some Fiver-type freelancer that was hired to do some audio files.

Same thing, cryptic message requesting call back. When I called out of curiosity, they refused to provide their business information. When I said, "may I ask what this is regarding?" the woman said "nope" and hung up. Classy!
