this tel # shows up on a charge on my checking accout as a checkcard purchase made without a pin. i did not make this charge. I try to call the number and it says that they cannott take my call. Anyone know what this is? It is listed on my statement as HBS 888-218-5608 Carlsbad CA

I just got charged for $9.45 fromt the same people. It could also be a coincidence but my credit report just got a hard pull on it as well.

I'm just trying to find some similarities so we can find the root of the problem here. I had to get a new check card too!

Same thing here, but 2 charges 2 weeks apart.  I don't havve any of the mentioned accounts.

On Nov 17th a charge for $9.45 was made on my credit card without my authorization.The phone # was the same as reported on your site.

I recently read inquires from dozens of readers who find themselves in a sililiar situation at the website of cjupin.com.In addition,a news article reported that Equifax was knowingly and unlawfully selling "former customers" credit card info to the bad guys,which are then fraudulently billing the credit cards for unauthorized charges......I use Equifax frequently;In fact,Equifax charged the same credit card 16 days before it was falsely billed by HBS.

Latest info is that Certegy is most likely responsible.I read an article at the Saint Petersburg Times yesterday about this situation.In addition,I called a close friend of mine who works at Certegy and here is what happened.An employee/employees at Certegy wanted extra money and knowingly and/or illegally sold our credit card info to the crooks.Certegy processes credit cards for most banks,credit unions,etc.They used to be owned 100%(until a few years ago) by Equifax.Five of of the six top executives at Certegy were former execs at Equifax.Certegy has a very troubling history of major violations with regulators,class action attorneys,consumers,etc...Currently,they have nearly 600 complaints on file at the Better Business Bureau....When my bank and I called management at Certegy over this issue,we were stonewalled by management at Certegy...They showed bad faith!!! Certegy is worried about criminal actions because this may go all the way to the top.In addition,they act as if they are trying to shield themselves by stonewalling us because they fear civil liability(class actions,etc)....My bank called because they contract with Certegy to process our banks credit card transactions.......Kerry Rothschild

HBS888-218-5608CAUS:  I also received a charge of $9.40 on my check statement.  When I called this number, the voice mail simply states 'Hello, thank you for calling. Your call can not be taken at this time'.   I'm not sure where to go from here.

HBS 8882185608 CA  on 12/1 had that charge on my credit card for $9.45 called disputed and got a new account number.  I too had purchased products from equifax quite a few months back.

the [***] hit my business account.  i don't know how they got my information as i have not used any of the aforementioned companies, i.e. equifax et al.  the most recent online order i made was for supplies through Staples.

so after i called the 888 number and got the same message as everyone else i called my credit union.  i have to fill out a dispute form but since the charge was under $10 i might not get reimbursed for it.  i guess this is why hbs makes such minimal charges.  they are hoping that we either won't notice or won't do anything about it.  does anyone know anything about a class action lawsuit against hbs?  they should be held accountable for STEALING our money.

I just received a chage on my checking account charged through my debit card as an unauthorized charge from HBS with the phone # 8882185608.  The bank has to cancel my card.  Ironically, this is the same account that use for my monthly Equifax charges for identity theft monitoring.

I got the same thing as everyone else.

I called the bank and they are sending me a new card.
