I also received one of these charges for $9.40 on my bankcard from HBS and tried to call the number - of course they couldn't take my call.  So, after finding this page, I called my bank and am filing a dispute and getting a new card.  I used Equifax for a one time thing.  I had also gotten a charge for an ebook for $4.95 from bestdigimart.com.  I emailed the website and they reversed the charges, but I guess that is part of this whole thing too.  Ridiculous!!

just happened to us too! Had the credit card in a file in our office.... we were not even using it!  rarrrr!!

I just recieved a charge for $9.40 and am in process of disputing the charge and getting a new charge.  I have also used Equifax for a credit report that was a one time charge of $40 or so.

I had a charge show up on my credit card.  Like others, I called the telephone number and received an automated response" Your call cannot be taken."  Like others, the charge was $9.40.

Received an unauthorized charge on my BOA account in the amount of $9.40 on 2/27/08.  Called 888-218-5608 several times and no response.  Decided to look up the phone number via the internet and found all of you folks.  I can see that this has been happening for months and apparently nothing has been done to stop it.  I am on my way to my bank to cancel my card.  I did not receive a phone call, check my credit with ANY credit bureau or do anything else that would give anyone access to my account number, BUT SOMEONE HAS IT!  PITA!

I got screwed by this scam too.

Add me to the list. Found an unknown charge of $9.45 on my credit card from HBS 8882185608 CA, with a Transaction date of 03/06/08. Tried to call, but got same lame recording.  My only dealing with Equifax was that I had just ordered my yearly free credit report from Equifax five days earlier on 03/01/08. Beware ! Will cancel card in morning.

I loved your response brutally honest and what I feel also for I hate these lousy azzholes who are predatory I had this done to me even on my home purchase and I hunted them down like the skank they are, thanks for your response, I feel better now. I got the 9.45 chg also from Hbs and they will do that chg a little then a lot, and alert to you the only transaction I had was HSN.com I had only used the card on the 8th of March to purchase for winter caps under 50 for the whole deal so being that I had not used the card but there, HSN also has a hand in it and they also are very parental and condescending when I called to alert them. So dont expect those [***] to protect your acct when u r shopping there, denied anything and everything and promoted theirselves as being above being scammed, what a crock, they scam people every day and I hate it also, lousy pervs. IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO THE PRINCIPLE OF THINGS AND I THINK THAT IS WHAT REALLY PISSES US OFF.

I just noticed a $9.40 charge from my checking account on 3-17-08 from the same number.  I live just outside Indianapolis.  It is Saturday and I will report it to my bank on Monday.

It happened to me too, a $9.40 charge labeled as "HBS 888-218-5608" came through my account today. I work at the Credit Union where my account is, so I got a new debit card and contested the charge, but it looks like this fraud scheme isn't getting resolved...

I too had the same charge today and also when I called the number same response. This has been going on for a long time it seems,some body should have been able to figure this out by now it seems!

Same thing happened to me $9.45 on my credit card statement.  If anybody finds out this company's address please post it.  I am going to track this company down and sue them in Massachusetts court just for kicks.
