- VAL replies to Erk!This has happened to me two months ago but under a different name of Wisee Goods for the same amount and $9.99 charge from a different co. I'm being charged $4.91 by StarCatalog LLC. The only link I can see is some how they got a hold of my old Bank of America Visa number when I switched over to the American Express card through B of A. The first time it was some type of mobile phone billing of some sort. I have a feeling next month after these fraud charges are reversed the name will once again change. I am cancelling this card! I'm said, I've had it for about 30 years.
- Chuck replies to Andyi RECIEVED A CHARGE FROM STARCATALOG LLC for $4.91 I called my CC company had had it taken off. Apparently lots of people are being hit by this scam.
- publiusThere is a class action suit underway. From Wikipedia:
"On May 3, 2008 Notices from the Administrator for the US District Court PO Box 3689 Portland, OR 97208 were sent out on a class action law suit to Certegy victims stating a reimbursement for identity theft up to $20,000 and would pay for "certain out of pocket expenses". The website www.dataSettlement.com online forms mention reimbursement for printing of check for new accounts ($40) and 2 years of credit monitoring services ($180). Phone calls can also be placed at 1-877-580-9770 about the class action law suit."- Caller: HBS

- Aggrevated replies to wayeI did not get a call - just an unauthorized withdrawal from my checking account. When I called that number "it is no longer in service." I, too, now have to obtain another bank card or give the bank $35.00 to stop another withdrawal.
Details: "electronic business RE412-927-0410" in the amount of $4.95. Scary and irritating!
