- hate replies to Sean-RI| 1 replyShooting would be too quick and painless. I too was charged $9.40 to a credit card that I rarely use. I also have received credit reports from Equifax on a regular basis but never paid with this card. I would love to find out who this is, strip the skin from their bodies and cover them with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Then I would give them a full body massage with salt, making sure to hit all the skinless sensitive areas. I would be sure to pump whatever drugs necessary into their system to keep them awake for the whole treatment. This could go on for hours and hours. I hate being ripped off!!! I really HATE it!!!!!!! The great thing is, NOTHING will be done about it and NOBODY will go to jail.
- YKAPoint Of Sale Withdrawal HBS / 888-218-5608 CAUS for $9.45 on my check card .I alos have Equifax monitoring services but will cancel it and cancel my card.
- The ProphetJust so everyone knows, the worldwide economy is on the brink of collapse so scams such as these are becoming more and more common as people try to find the money they need to maintain their lifestyle. In a few short years all of us will be fighting in the streets over scraps of meat. Be sure to stock up on weapons, ammunition and non-perishable foods ( oh and water of course). But in the meantime, before our society collapses, the best thing you can do is dispute these charges in writing with your credit card or bank. If you have a major credit or debit card you are not liable for any unauthorized charges if you dispute them in writing within 60 days of when you first noticed them. I have personally stopped several companies from charging me on my cards by doing so when I cancelled an acct but they continued to bill me. If you exercise the rights available to you then you do not need to cancel or change your card number unless the bank or issuer says it is necessary. Our financial giants will not put up with this type of fraud since it costs them money if you file a written dispute. File the dispute and let the big boys take out these scammers. Also put a fraud alert on your credit reports. They dont like the extra work but they have to do it if you say you suspect fraud. Watch all your accts very closely. Now if you'll excuse me I have beachfront property to sell in Nevada.
- UPSET| 2 repliesAlso received charge on debit card account for 9.45. This is upsetting because most people will just let it go or not even notice because of the small amount. Have cancelled debit card.
- Nita of Illinois replies to UPSET| 1 replyI took a look at my checking account online this morning and saw where there was an unauthorized charge for $9.45 for HBS 888-218-5608 out of California. I have had credit reports pulled through equifax twice in 2007. I do believe they have deducted other money because my account is off by $45.00 and I can not account for it. I have had to cancel my card. I will be notifing the Federal Trade Commission as well as the States Attorney Generals office for Fraud and the Better Business Bureau about this. I urge everyone to do the same.
- upsetinga replies to Nita of IllinoisThe same thing just happened to me this morning and BOA had to cancel my checkcard. I also pulled free credit report from Equifax in 2007 using that card. Even though it was free you had to put in the cc number. What a pain, but like BOA said if you don't cancel it, they may pull more money later.
- RGOn Dec 20, 07, my credit card was also charged $9.40 from HBS. When I call the phone number 888-218-5608, it does not take my call. We need to stop this fraudulent company from stealing money.

- R.A. MarshWas billed the same ($9.45) today... have no idea who or what this is and
bank also could not find or identify.... - fbI can only sadly add to the list. Discovered also unauthorised deduction of $9,45 yesterday. Called the number- no reponse/answering machine. Immediately spoke with my c/c provider who is looking into it.
fb 1/18/08 - R. A. MarshWas advised today 888-218-5608 is a fraudulent # with hundreds of complaints and is being investigated by the F. T. C. As of today no connection to Equifax has been established but investigation is on-going.
Contact your financial institution to dispute/report fraud and strongly recommend cancelling and re-applying for new cards or account numbers - TimSaw it pop up today on my bank account. Called the bank to dispute the charge so hopefully it will be taken care of and I hope to not have to cancel my card, but if I do, I do!
- WEBSTER****BILL*****
[I was also charged 9.45
Does anyone have a Websterbank account? Constant Contact or Lycos?
I'm just trying to find some similarities so we can find the root of the problem here. I had to get a new check card too!]
I did recently open a "Webster Bank" account. Curious how a couple of days after opening this account, I was charged $9.45..... - deezleRealized today that they took $9.40 from my account. Never got a phone call from them. I call the phone number today, which is invalid...
- Lisa replies to debI am in the same situation. $9.45. The bank is having me fill out a police report on Monday because there seems to be no origin.
I have not requested Credit info....... - karenJust found the $9.45 charge from HBS 8882185608 on 1/12/08...got the same "cannot take your call" response, probably foolishly left my name and phone # which I hope I don't regret, called my credit card company to ask them what to do: they cancelled that charge and said if it happens again call them and they will pursue it at that time. I had no dealings with Equifax or Certegy or any of the other account mentioned.
I'm not sure what to do next.
Argh. - TA replies to Joseph| 1 replyI just looked at my statement and I got this 2.95 charge from Electronic Business Services on 01/22/08 with this number as well (4129270410,PA)
About a month ago I got a 9.45 charge from some other company and I just got those funds back.
I have used this card frequently at Marshalls. Thats the connection I first thought, seems they just had that security breech..
I would not mind participating in a class action suit.
Some how this stuff has got to stop...
Thinking people are not going to notice 2 dollars here, 5 dollars here on 9 dollars.. I also had the 9 hit my visa check card....
Can you imagine how much money they make and how many accounts they hit with this little amount even if they get 50,000 accounts they still profit 147,500.00- these places have to be stopped - Brittany replies to redgemI too recently had a $9.40 charge on my card, and I have Equifax. I called Equifax and they said that they did not sell any customer information b/c they are a major credit reporting agency and it is against the law. I disputed the charge and hopefully, will get my money back. I called the number and got the same answering machine.
